Edie slowly opened her eyes as she stared blankly at the ceiling. Slowly, she turned to her side, there she saw Kate resting her head on the bed, it seemed like she has dozed off.
Edie tried to seat up but pain shot through her head.
She heard the sound of the door clicking open. She suddenly became alert. Kate who was sleeping woke up when she heard the door open.
"you are awake" she whispered softly to edie, earning a smile from her.
"miss edie, are you alright" the doctor's concerned voice was heard.
Behind the doctor was an handsome man with hair as dark as the night, sharp eyes..... Wait, why was she even describing.
"wait, what's the time" edie asked out loud. Everyone turned to look at her before kate checked the time.
"it's 4:35"
"damn, am late"she nearly jumped out of bed
"for what" Kate asked as she noticed her friend panicking.
"for work"
"for work" kate and doctor Nelson blurted out. Nathan on the other hand was taken aback.
"yea" she turned to the doctor "i am fine doctor. I need to go to work".
"miss edie, you need to rest" doctor nelson tried to caox edie.
She got down from the bed
"i am really fine doc" as she was about walking to the door when pain shot through her head. She was about falling when a hand grabbed her waist stopping her from falling.
"are you ok" she heard a male's voice.
Edie stared at the most gorgeous creature she had ever seen in her life.
She nodded still staring at nathan.
He walked her to the bed and sat her down.
When edie broke out of her trance, she suddenly remembered work.
"i really need to go to work" she tried standing up.
"i would talk to miss edie" Nathan spoke signaling everyone to leave the room. Kate glared at him sharpky before she walked over to edie and whispered
"if he tries to touch you, grab his down there" she signaled with her eyes to his manhood "and break those eggs" she winked at edie.
Edie nearly bursted into laughter as kate glared at Nathan. The room was suddenly quiet as edie looked at the door which was closed.
"is your work so important to risk your health" Nathan voice broke the weird silence.
Edie gaze landed on Nathan and nodded "very important"
" what do you do for a living"
"why do you want to know" a frown rested on her face as she adjusted her glasses.
He shrugged. "I want to make a deal with you"
"A deal?" she arched her brow
He nodded.
"Be my girlfriend"
Edie suddenly bursted into laughter. Nathan was taken aback. Her laughter was so pleasing to hear.
" do you always go around asking people to be your girlfriend" she paused" sir, you maybe handsome for all i care, you should have a lot of girlfriends, so why ask me to be your girlfriend "
