"Greetings, Sir!"The lady in purple trouser suit greeted, voice soft, fragile yet beautiful to the ears.
Nathan's eyes stayed glued to the black beauty before him, lost of what to say.
"How can a person be this beautiful? Taking away my breath without permission, she isn't even trying"Nathan thought, lost in his head.
"Um, my name is Jahzara Vale, I saw the post online so I thought it wise to check since I was around the corner"Zara explains, yet, she didn't get a response.
Her eyes darted back and forth, confused if he was staring at her or someone behind but there was no one.
"Hi, Vale, welcome to the company... Yes, we posted a job vacancy not long, and you are the first to come, hence, you'll be the first person we will attend to"Quinn spoke up, making her way to them.
"I am Quinn, the head of department in the media department"Quinn introduced, " nice to meet you?"She extends her hands for a shake
"The pleasure of all mine, Ms." Zara was happy to be welcomed by her.
"Quinn is fine... Don't like the title ship and the rest!" Quinn waves her hands laughing, the atmosphere was light and polite.
"Quinn, it is,"
Zara said, laughing along.
"Here is my Boss..."Quinn was cut off by his sudden introduction
"Nathaniel Slater, the CEO of the company"He stretched his hands forward
Zara was amazed as she stared at him with wide eyes. She can't believe she's this privilege to stand before Nathaniel Slater, the young and charming prince in the business world, loved by all ladies and the most chased bachelor.
"Jahzara Vale, sir," She says as though she hasn't introduced herself before. " It's a privilege meeting you, sir... I'm honored" she sounds excited,
Nathan smiles for the first time, seeing her happy face brightens up his day as though he has nothing to worry about.
"The pleasure is all mine!"Nathan mutters under his breath, never letting go of her hands as they both kept on smiling at each other.
"Oh, right! If you will excuse me, boss, I want her to come with me for the assessment of her documents before the interview"Quinn spoke, clearing the awkward moment between the two who kept on shaking each other's hands as though they couldn't let go.
"That won't be necessary!"Nathan said, stunning Quinn
"Huh? But that's the usual procedure you said we should follow"Quinn tries explaining, Nathan frowns but he wasn't angry, not while the black beauty was standing before him in his favorite color.
He's a lover of purple. He loves it so much that he can't get his eyes off her.
The first thing that got him attracted to her was the way she articulated herself in his favorite color and reminded him so much of his mom.
"It's good you said I asked you guys to follow, "Nathan said, turning to Quinn, " and now, I am telling you it won't be necessary became I will be the one to assess all her files and see if she's fit for the job, "He says, reminding her who is the boss.
"But!" Quinn tries to speak but he stops her with just a look. Not like Quinn's mind but she just wants him to have the beef rest he needs knowing all that he has and is still in and more.
"Fine, I will go ahead with my work, boss," Quinn said defeatedly and left.
Zara was unable to think after hearing what he said," will he be the one to interview me? "She asked herself, overwhelmed.
There is no way on earth she can process all the information at once, like, this is too much!
"Ready for your interview? "Nathan asked, she could only blink.
"Oh god! Zara this is fucking real, so true! "She exclaims in her mind, quickly nodding her head
"Yes... I am, sir!.. Oh sorry! Boss" she corrected, conflicted on what to say.
Nathan's smile widens the more, he tilts his head to the side. "Don't you think that's too early to be calling me such? " He asked, " you haven't gotten the job yet" he reminds her of what she omitted
Zara made an 'O' smiling at her sudden assumptions. She felt embarrassed as she lowers her head smiling meekly
"You seem to be overconfident, "Nathan said, telling her his observations.
"It's not like I'm too confident, I just ... I see myself here already " She explains honestly
"Isn't that too early for assuming such a fantasy and diving into it without trying to know how real it is? "Asked Nathan
"It might be early but my qualifications and experience won't fail me. It's not all about my fantasy, though it's partially it" Zara explains
"Your documents will speak for you," Nathan said and walked into the elevator.
Zara didn't know whether to follow but after a long thought, she took two steps and stood by the side not going inside.
Nathan doesn't understand why she stayed outside instead of entering with him
"Are you waiting on someone?"He asked
Zara quickly denies it, "not at all, sir. I wish to know your floor so I can walk my way through the stairs" she didn't see it right to enter the same elevator her future boss is entering, like, that's a big disrespect.
"You seem to have lots of energy to want to climb over fourteen stairs and over four floors"Nathan jokes.
Zara could only lower her head in embarrassment not understanding why she was acting this way. "Maybe it's because he is the owner and she's just trying to be at her best... She doesn't want a case where he will say she isn't fit for the job because she boldly entered his private elevator with him.
She isn't blind to see the VIP at the top front of the elevator
"Get in, unless you wish not to work here" Nathan's tone was a little bit warning, without thinking, she goes in standing by his side
He stretches out his right hand and punches the keypad.
Zara watches his fingers moving so elegantly, with lots of grace. "Wow!"She exclaims in her thoughts.
She quickly averted her gaze when he stood straight, silent engulfing the walls of the elevator as they moved to the six floors.
"What are your qualifications?"Nathan asked as soon as the elevator opened, stretching out his hands and demanding her file.
Zara hands him the file, explaining all her achievements and so on.
"So you mean to say you have worked in the Forever Ever Young branch in Arizona?"He asked
She quickly answers, " yes, sir!".Unlike other job seekers, she was bold and brave. Sure of what she knows and very proud of her qualifications.
"Great!"Nathan said, flipping through the papers.
He place them back on the table when he was done assessing, eyes staring at her as though she isn't qualify
Zara felt broken by just his looks, she didn't need a soothsayer to tell her what lies ahead
"I get it... I am not fit for this job and yes, the position is big for me"She breathe out of her stomach only to be left speechless by his words
"You've gotten the job, and you will take over as the next Manager!"He said as if it were nothing, " congratulations!"
Zara stares at him, blinking a couple of times unable to comprehend what he just pouted out from his mouth.
