Madam Zhou let out an exhale. She appeared miffed with her eyebrows furrowed and her eyes narrowed. However talking with Ilyana had made her appear less tense compared to when Zennox was around. She plopped her back to the seat and shook her head, "Nothing."
"I don't think it's nothing. Uncle Zennox only came when there is something he needs," Ilyana responded back as she walked closer toward her mother. "There is something you're hiding, am I wrong?"
Staring at her mother, Ilyana could see the frown her mother had only knit tighter. Madam Zhou ruffled her hair and looked aside with a huff, "You don't need to know about it."
"Of course I do, I'm your daughter," Ilyana said with firmness only to watch her mother eyes widening as though she didn't expect what she had said.
Madam Zhou finally let out a chuckle. Her expression that had always been strict turn gentler as she laughed, "I didn't expect such warm words to come out from you."
