My mind was blank and can't comprehend anything while I'm in class just because I kept thinking about that day when Caden read the manga that I've made.
Yeah, I know that he liked it. But because of that, he's always asking me about having an update and it somehow irritates me. I haven't even finished that one chapter that I'm working on so how can I let him read it?
After our class ended, I went out of school with my friends. And right after I passed the exit gate, I heard someone called my name.
"Cassandra!"
My forehead wrinkled, "Caden?"
"Uy! Her boyfie is fetching her! How sweet!" Josephine giggled.
Caden ran towards us, but I noticed something strange.
"Cassandra. . ." he uttered while panting.
"Can we talk for a moment, please?" he asked.
I can really feel something strange here. Because of the reaction on his face. . .
"Okay, fine. You can pick up our friend now. I know that you missed each other," Josephine teased.
Caden nodded at my friends as a response, then he quickly grabbed my arm and pulled me near at his car.
"What is it?" I queried.
He looked like frightened and panicking.
"Cassandra, please help me. I don't know what to do anymore."
"Caden, calm down. Tell me everything first, okay?"
"Here it goes. Earlier during lunch break, someone called me at my phone. She said she wants to meet me at the café nearby the university because she has something to tell me about Kiara and it was an emergency, and so I did. She's one of Kiara's close friends and fellow member of the dance org. they had a sleep over last night at their house with their other girl-friends. Then something happened," he spilled.
"What happened?"
"Three guys suddenly broke in the house. They're all girls and they couldn't do anything out of fear. And from all of them, Kiara was the one they took away."
I was shocked. "What? But why? How? Did you report it already to the police?"
"That's another problem. They warned them not to tell it to anyone, to the authorities, or even to her family. They frightened them that they're going to hurt Kiara if they did. And because they don't know what to do anymore, they seek help to me."
Everything Caden have said was hard to believe and alarming at the same time. Even I don't know Kiara personally, I felt worried for her.
"I'm scared and panicking right now. I'm confused and I won't ever forgive myself if something bad happens to Kiara," Caden trembled.
"What would you do? Aren't her parents looking for her?"
"Nope. I talked to her parents already. I told them that Kiara was fine and she went straight to school after their sleep over."
I heaved a sigh, "Did you know her kidnapper?"
"Yes. He's the fearsome delinquent in the university because they said that he's a Yakuza boss' son. He's Resty Yamamura."
"Wait, Resty?" I mumbled.
"Short for Restituto. He's a half Filipino, half-Japanese."
"Oh, okay. But wait, how can I help you with it?"
He sighed, "You need to help me to break in their hideout."
"What?"
"You're willing to help, right?" he pleaded.
I thought about it for a while. Of course, I want to help. But it's risky and dangerous. What if we get caught?
"And how would we break in there?" I queried.
"I would tell Earl to ready those things that we will need first. We're going to save Kiara tonight at seven."
I widened my eyes. "Tonight at seven?"
"Yes. I'll take care of you so don't be worried," he assured.
--
While I'm here in my room, I can't help but to feel worried so I'm walking back and forth. I'm looking at the clock once in a while and I feel nervous and anxious as heck. It's turning seven now!
I was startled when I heard a knock on my door. I quickly reached the door and opened it.
"Are you ready?" Caden asked after getting in my room.
"What do you mean by ready? Ready to die?"
"Don't worry. I'll take the lead. You'll just assist me for saving Kiara. Okay?"
"Fine. Whatever."
I rubbed my palms against each other out of nervousness. After getting downstairs, we stopped walking when someone called us.
"Roma, Caden. Where are you guys going?" Michael queried.
We looked at each other before answering his father.
"Uhm. We're just going somewhere, Dad."
"Oh, is that a date? Okay, I'll just let you enjoy the night. What time will you be home?"
"Uhm, I guess before eleven we're already here," Caden answered.
"Okay, take care," Michael told us before we left.
We head straight to his care and went inside it after going out the mansion. Caden grabbed something at the backseat. A paper bag and gave it to me. I was puzzled but I just checked what's inside it.
"Wait, men's formal wear?" I asked.
A pair of suit and black pants with necktie and it comes with a men's wig.
"We're going to disguise as an employee of yakuza using that, okay?" he said.
"What? You serious?"
"Yep. That's the best way. So, change your clothes into that quickly."
I paused for a while and glared at him.
"Why?" he asked.
"I'm going to change my clothes while you're there?"
"Oh, sorry."
Caden quickly went off the car and he was just standing right there while leaning against the car. The car's windows are tinted and it's already dark here. We're the only people here as well. Even it's difficult to move because the space was a bit small, I still managed to change.
After I wore everything, I knocked at the driver's seat window then Caden quickly went inside the car.
"It fits me well. How did you know my size?" I inquired.
He laughed a bit. "It's easy. I grabbed it on teen's section because I know that it will fit you."
"How about you? You're just like that?"
"Of course not."
He grabbed something again at the backseat—a coat and tie then wore it. He also grabbed a styling hair wax at his drawer and styled his hair in brush-up. And last, he wore an eyeglass with a black and thick frame.
After that, he started the car's engine.
"Hang in there, Kiara," he uttered.
