Jen was a 9th grade student of Sacred Heart Academy. She was a studious student who also was very much active in extracurricular activities. She also had the courage to speak up if she needed to. Rarely caused any issues, but if she did, she knew very well how to teach her opposite party a good lesson. No one really dared to stand against her.
That's when Ap is transferred to Sacred Heart Academy. She had moved to the city to live with her maternal uncle and aunt. She loved them a lot. They were not like her parents, at least that's what she thought till then. She was in the 7th grade, a junior to Jen.
Ap, being a very shy and introverted girl, was an easy target to the school bullies. To speak of her appearance, she was a tanned short and very skinny girl. She used to be bullied for her appearance back in her old school too. She was hoping, since it's a city, the kids would be nicer. But, kids are kids. Kids can be very mean sometimes. Though her appearance was still her main cause of insecurity, kids here paid more attention to her personality. They liked to tease the "shy, introverted" new girl.
This went on for sometime. The verbal bullying slowly but surely started changing into physical bullying. A group of 9th graders had called her to buy some things for them. When she heard they wanted cigarettes, she begged them to not make her buy that. They got angry and tried to burn her with the cigarettes butts. That's when Jen passed by. Jen usually doesn't pay attention to other's business. But this time, she did pay attention for some reason. She went up to them and slapped the gang leader. Though they were angry, they dare not touch her. They all ran away.
Ap sat in th ground crying and trying to thank Jen. At first Jen turned back and tried to leave. But stopped when Ap stopped making any sound. Jen turned around to find Ap lying on the ground unconscious. She picked her up on her back and ran to the nurse's office. Turns out it was a trauma response. This wasn't the first time Ap was facing such abuse. Jen's stone heart kinda shaked. She felt bad for the girl lying helpless infront of her. But, oh of course, she didn't want to accept the fact that she felt for her. Didn't wanna lose her cool.
She waited for Ap to wake up and left right before she felt like Ap was about to wake up. For the first time in her life she wanted to take someone's pain on her, if they could be okay. She wanted to help. She wanted to be there. But, of course, her cool self couldn't show others that. So, she came up with a plan. To be the bully instead. That way she could make sure Ap was not being bullied by others and she could always have her around.
Once Ap woke up she looked around for Jen so that she could thank her. But Jen had already left. She decided to buy Jen some Pikelets as a thank you gift the next day.
