Chapter 3 - 03

It's easy to say study hard, but it's really difficult to actually do it.

I played around in my first year of high school and I have not studied at all since then.

All my thoughts were used on makeup and dressing up, and going out to clubs.

I really find studying boring.

My family is wealthy, even if I don't get into university, my parents will find a way to send me abroad.

Why do I have to exhaust myself studying?

In the first and a half years of high school, I never did any homework and either handed in blank test papers or just scribbled on them randomly, firmly placed in the bottom three of my grade.

I thought about it for a while and decided to start making up the content from my first year of high school.

But as soon as I opened the book, I recognized all the words, but when they were put together it became like an incomprehensible scripture.

I forced myself to look at it for ten minutes before I couldn't look at it anymore, my head was filled with dizziness and yawns just kept coming.

It's too hard, it's really too hard.

When I watch Jiang Shu Hua do questions, he doesn't seem to have to think much before writing, it doesn't seem so difficult!

I began to retreat in my mind.

Anyway, my family is wealthy, what do they matter if they get into Tsinghua, maybe they will come work for me in the future.

Just as I was about to put down the book, my mom suddenly knocked on the door and came in.

She was carrying a plate of fruit and her face was full of shock.

"Ru, you're studying..."

My mom's expression quickly became worried and she seemed to want to laugh as she nervously put the fruit on my desk and wiped her hands.

"Oh, Mom, did I disturb you, hurry and study!"

With that, she quickly left the room, softly closing the door and making no sound.

I stared blankly at the fruit on the table.

It was grapes, cut off the stems and cleaned thoroughly with flour, without a single rotten one.

Every day before this, my mom would do this.

She is afraid that the babysitter will not wash the fruit clean, afraid that the babysitter will cook something I don't like to eat, and takes care of me in various ways.

My mom's expression keeps appearing in front of my eyes, sometimes saying sadly: "You argue with your mom."

Sometimes it is the fear of disturbing my study.

I squeezed the pen in my hand and reopened the book that I was about to close.

Damn, let me just look at it for a while.

...

Learning is really painful, but after getting through that unbearable beginning, it doesn't seem so torturous anymore.

Even when I was reading a history book, I found a hint of interest.

I had previously gone to see the terracotta warriors with my mom, but I had no idea what the Qin kings did after unifying China.

I didn't expect them to have such broad-mindedness and courage, it's really shocking.

I had never taken any notes before, the book was full of drawings of little people made in class.

I added two whiskers and changed the hairstyle of the portrait of Emperor Qin Shi Huang.

I did it at the time to pass the time, but now after seriously looking at it, I feel a little uncomfortable inside.

I turned the pages of the history book one by one, and I forgot when I fell asleep.

When the alarm clock rang the next morning, I found myself sleeping on the table.

There were still book pages imprinted on my face.

I looked at myself in the mirror and felt a little unbelievable.

There was actually a day when I, Qiao Ru, could fall asleep while reading a book.

When my mom called me for breakfast, she was particularly nice to me and kept filling my plate with vegetables.

"Eat more, studying consumes a lot!"

"My girl is smart, if she just studies a little she can surpass that little rabbit, what is he good for? Let's take the Tsinghua University exam in the future and see!"

I looked at the chicken leg in the bowl and felt mixed emotions.

My mom has always had this much confidence in me.

She thinks her daughter is a pile of dog poop, but she still thinks it's the best dog poop in the world.

If I just study a little, she is overjoyed.

It's really satisfying.

I look at my mom's sparkling eyes.

Tonight...I'll study a little more.
