Chapter 5 - Allan's past (part 2)

Allancaster smiled as his leg was hugged by his five-year-old brother, who had ocean-blue eyes and skin as pale as snow in January. This little boy was more like his son than a brother, as he has taken care of this boy since he was a baby.

When he woke up in this world, the mother, sister and newborn little brother had just been kicked out by his mother's late husband's children leaving them with nothing, even the little baby was left with nothing.

Needless to say the vile means these sons used to accuse their mother of being a whore and of his little brother having another father, suffice it to point to her skin color and barbarian origin and probable brothel dancer she must have been.

There was no DNA test in this world, and his little brother's father did not leave a will clarifying the baby's origin or any money to be inherited by Allancaster's mother.

The man was not a bad person, he just had a sudden death and this man's relatives were too greedy, he until the last moment had taken care of his mother and sister with care and affection, and yes the child was his, they just didn't want to give the money to his mother for being a black and foreign person, who knows supposedly had a shameful profession.

Allancaster, on the other hand, was a mercenary and a capable warrior, but his mercenary life took a high price, and he caught a disease outside and ended up dying, which gave the opportunity for the new soul to inhabit the body that seemed to be going through a strange transformation.

Allancaster had something that trapped the magical power within him, but with the death of the original owner, the seal of the powers in the body was released and the magical circuits in the body seemed to come back to life, an infinity of MANA that could be very lethal.

What sadly prevented the new Allancaster from starting out as an OP character from the start, the laws of the Rosario Empire were strict for magic users, whether Wizards, Mages or Witches, they would have to go through a hard training until they could have the empowerment as a magic user, it was a matter of security, in addition to registering magicians and keeping them under surveillance by the State.

If Allancaster were alone in this world he could even enter these trainings and isolate himself from the world, learning little by little in a safe place for himself and others, but if he did that his little family would starve and die out there.

Don't misunderstand, the State would pay the costs for his family, but Allancaster knew what kind of world he had transmigrated to, women were bullied into submission and dark-skinned women in this empire were treated as inferior to white-skinned servants.

His mother and little sister had dark skin, at the time his younger sister was only 15 years old, which would be an easy target for brothels to try to capture this young flower for their garden, especially without a man in the family who could defend her honor.

It was this kind of world he had transmigrated to.

So he had to hide his strong magic power and tried to recover on his own, it hadn't been that difficult to make money since he had knowledge of a more modern world than the one he currently lived in.

However, keeping the money was extremely difficult. The original Allancaster had contracted a large debt, because he was blamed for failing in a millionaire mission, in which only he of the group came back alive.

Of course, that was the employer trying to justify himself to the noble who asked for the quest that was blown into thousands of pieces, so Allancaster started already being badgered by the Mercenary Guild to pay the astronomical debt.

They even wanted to sell his little sister to some brothel or to a noble who had peculiar tastes to pay the debt, but of course Allancaster called the judiciary, the law was very strict about selling people, slavery had just been abolished time and the laws were extremely heavy to re-educate the population and curb the practice.

The irony is that justice was on Allancaster's side in this case, but when it came to the wrongful debt pasted on his head, justice just reduced the percentage of the debt to something quite acceptable, which he could pay off with 10 years of hard work.

Yeah... There was still a long way to go for this society to put an end to slavery and elitist thoughts, if Allancaster was white and not a foreigner the imaginary debt would have been investigated or at least reduced even more, but he wasn't and still had characteristics of the desert barbarians who were sworn enemies of the Rosary Empire.
