Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Zach Starfield shot up out of bed. He had just had the most horrendous nightmare. Who were those six women. And why did sun, the one in white feel so familiar.

Zach side. It had been 8 years since his mother had disappeared. She had come home one day, and telling him that she had to go and do something important with a team of hers had left, and never returned.

Zach climbed out of bed. Glancing at his Comcom's time display, he noticed it was only about seven in the morning. He realized he would have to hurry a little bit if he was to say goodbye to his sister before she left for her training session. That reminded him that his other sister was coming in later today, and he would need to get some work done at the weapons research facility before he met her at the teleport pad.

Brushing his teeth, combing his hair back, and smoothing the beard that he had grown in order to make himself look older than he actually was. Zack dressed in a white button down shirt, A gray pair of slacks, white trainers, and is ever present sort sheeth. The sheeth itself was empty, but he carried it around just in case he needed to carry the energy sword that he developed.

Walking down the stairs he came face to face with his youngest sister Alain Starfield sitting at the table eating cereal for breakfast.

"Good morning Alain" he said sitting down at the table and dishing up his own bowl of cereal.

Alain looked up. "Morning Zack" she said giving him a warm smile.

Alain stood at only 4 foot six. This was quite short for their family. Zach himself stood at just over 6 feet tall, and their other sister Christine stood at 5 foot 10.

"Do you have anything else other than training scheduled for today?"

Alain shook her head. "Only training for about two hours" she said putting her empty bowl down on the table. "Then I thought I'd go and watch some of the ninja matches on the Telescreen."

Zach smiled. He knew that Alain's secret dream was to train to become a ninja. Although for some reason she seem to be more suited for actual hand to hand combat, rather than throwing objects at people. Not that she couldn't throw, but she couldn't hit with anything she through to save her life.

Zack finishing his cereal smoothed his shirt, and rose from the table. "Very well" he said giving Alain a smile. "I'm off to the research facility for a couple of hours. Then I'll be by the teleport pad to pick up Christine around noon."

Alain nodded as she stood from the table as well. "I'll see you both later than" she said walking up the stairs to her room.

Smiling to himself, Zach grabbed his keys, and walked out the door to journey to his work.

Zach whistle cheerfully as he walked down the street. He had heard of days when people drove in cars, and would create more pollution than the factories would. However that all changed 300 years ago when the teleportation system was invented. It was now quite easy to walk to a teleportation station, and transport to anyone of the 36 sectors found in Surafel city.

Zach reached the transport station for sector B5, and stepping in asked to be transported to the weapon development facility in sector A4.

After materializing in sector a4's transport center, Zack walked out and headed for his office.

The transport center was found actually in the middle of the weapon development facility. This was where all sorts of weapons for defense were designed, and improved upon.

Zach himself was fascinated by old fashion sorts. He was still in the development stage of what he jokingly called the energy blade.

Reaching his office Zack strode over to his desk and glance down at the paperwork that have been left overnight. On the top was a request from another company to see the sword that he was developing in action.

Groaning to himself about the stupidity of these people. Zach tossed the offending document into the incinerator, and sat down at his desk to look over the latest tests that they had run through with a sword.

As he was reading over reports from the vault, is intercom bussed.

"Morning boss" his assistant Clover said through the intercom.

"Morning Cloe" he said looking up in pleasure.

Clover Richards had been Zack's assistant for the last year and a half. Though short, rather clumbzey, and occasionally lost in thought. Clover was never the less one of the best assistance Zach ever had. She always knew when to keep paperwork out of his sight, and when to make sure that he didn't miss any meetings that he needed to be at. "what's new on the dock it today Clover?"

"you have a meeting in 25 minutes with the Director of Energy range research. And I've got another requisition form for the energy sword to be turned over to the military again."

Zach side. "Will do the same with the requisition form as we've done with the last 10" he said wanted to bang his head against the desk. "Just toss it in the incinerator Clover."

"You got it boss" she said. "You might want to get to your meeting, before you get lost in the paperwork again."

Zack giggle to himself. It was rare that he actually giggled, he was known to chuckle, laugh, especially grin, but when he was truly out witted, and he knew it, he would giggle almost like a schoolgirl.

"I'm on my way."
