Chapter 6

"Thanks chief"Zack said hanging up his comcom. For the last hour he and Christine had been calling everyone they could think of to research what or who the individual they met in front of their house was. To date no one had seen this person before. Although chief Stern had said he would keep an eye out for the individual.

One of Christine's friends named Marlin had suggested that the color was very similar to what Christine had told him about the break-in at the vault, but again there was no evidence of this individual's presence at the vault. There was also the point that the individual had said that they were there to focus on the creator of what would become them on a sword, and yet they didn't know precisely how long the person had been there.

"That's all my contacts"Zack said sitting down with the sigh at the table.

"I've also run out of contacts"Christine said joining him at the table. "I guess we'll have to wait for Alain to get back, and see if she has any thoughts."

Nodding Zack tapped his fingers on the table. "I can't help but feel like I've actually met the person or thing there before"he said rubbing his eyes.

Christine put one arm around her brother, and kissed him on the cheek. "Don't worry Zack"she said leaning back. "Will discover what these mysteries about."

The two of them sat for a few minutes lost in thought. This was now the third mystery that their family had been forced to face in five years. The first had been the disappearance of their mother. Witch had affected Zack more than either of his sisters. It wasn't that they disliked ore hated their mother. It was just that Zack seemed extremely close to her. In fact, if Christine hadn't known any better, she could have believed that the 2 of them were in a closer relationship. Thankfully she knew for a fact that Zack had eyes for only 1 woman, and it certainly wasn't their mother.

Then this past year had come the problem with not only the energy saver, but after Lisa's talk with Zak the energy bow. Christine wondered if there was a connection there.

And now they had to deal with a third mystery on top of all this.

"I feel as though something important is happening"Zach said continuing to rub his eyes. "I just can't for the life of me figure out what the connection is."

Rising from the table Christine walked over to one of the bookshelves. "Why don't we look at mom's journal again"she said pulling out one of the books. "Maybe there's a clue in here as to what may be happening."

The two of them sat side-by-side and started flipping through the journal looking for entries that might warn them of what is happening. It was about a quarter of the way through the book when they came across an entry that neither had remembered reading before.

"I can't let my children know at this point. Not that I'm ashamed of them, but they don't have the necessary knowledge, or power levels yet to defend themselves if the dark theme starts coming after them. I will have to team up with my friends, and teammates in order to seal this fiend away. I doubt even I have the power level alone to defeat this monster, and there is no way I will allow him to ruin my family more than he already has. Not only did he somehow steal away my twin cousins, but he's also started turning them against one another. I wish I had been able to rescue dear Melissa, but I have no idea where she even is now."

"Who do you think she's talking about here?"

Zach shook his head. "I remember hearing about the kidnapping that occurred over in sector F3 about three months before mom vanished"Zach said leaning back and steepling his fingers. "Apparently one of the girls disappeared right out of her crib. The police found no clues as to where she went, and to this day the case is still open for investigation."

"Do you think she mentioned the other twin?"

Scanning through the rest of the journal Zack shook his head. "That's the only entry that mentions twin cousins at all"he said closing the book. "I don't know what happened to the other cousin, although I heard recently that a knew singer had popped up in town."

Christine frowned. "I seem to remember hearing about some new kind of singing idle while I was inspecting one of the new range centers. I couldn't get any details though."

Sighing Zack roast to his feet, and walking over to the bookshelf put the journal back where Cristine pulled it out. "Well,"he said sighing again. "We won't figure anything out sitting around here. Somehow, I feel this is all going to come to ahead very soon, I think..."Zack's voice trailed off as his hand bumped one of the other books in the case, and a secret panel slid open on the wall beside it.

"What on earth"Christine said jumping to her feet, and hurrying over to the open panel. Glancing inside she noticed another notebook thinner than the journal just lying there. "What is this?"

Reaching in Zack pulled out the notebook, and the panel slid shut. "Must be pretty important"he said settling back down at the table "for someone to hide that notebook behind this panel."

"What I would like to know"Christine said joining him at the table "is why that panel open now. I've touched that particular book more than once, and yet nothing has happened until now."

Zach shrugged. "No idea"he said opening the notebook to the first page, then gasping and astonishment as a picture appeared.

In the picture Zack saw the six women that he had dreamed about the previous night. Looking over the group he saw the one called sun holding up her sword pointing towards the sky.

Standing directly behind her was the woman who seem to be called sky, carrying her bow. Although she carried no gun in this picture.

Standing behind her was the woman they had referred to a storm. She had an ax in her hand, but in the other she also held a hammer.

To the right of sun stood the woman dressed in black that the girls had referred to as night. In this picture she carried not only a javelin, but also a short dart.

Behind her stood the woman that they had called nature. Not only did she wear the boxing gloves that he dreamed of, but she also seems to carry an air of martial arts that he had once felt roll off of Alain his younger sister.

Standing At the back of this particular line was the woman that had been known as torch. She held a spear in her right hand, and on her left arm he could see a boomerang coiled Loosely around her left bicep.

Christine glanced over his shoulder, then looked at his face in puzzlement. "Are you OK Zack?"

Zach shook himself, then took a deep breath. "I dreamed of these six last night."

Christine studied the group intensely. "Is it my imagination"she said tapping her finger against the one in the front of the left line. "But does she resemble mom?"

Zach looked back at sun and studied her for a short while. "There are some similarities"he allowed. "However, she's actually slightly taller than mom, and I don't remember mom ever using a sword before."

Nodding Christine studied the other five. "Could these be the friends and teammates that mom refers to in her journal?"

Zach hummed in thought. "It's certainly possible"he said deciding to flip to the next page. "After all, if one of her cousins was kidnapped, she would probably ask them especially if she knew these people if they could find her."

As the page flipped over both of them gasped at the line of text that was in the center of the page. "Notebook for elemental master of light, sun (Martha Starfield).
