When I say he has changed my life I mean literally since when he started with small things like making fun of the coffee machine and the grinder which ended up in him buying a lot of new stuff for the apartment. I tried stopping him but he told me my things we are old and inadequate and his lady deserves much more and so I let him change stuff in the place which led him to hire a house designer and decorator to change the whole apartment. They got rid of the old stuff in the place and by the time he was done, I couldn't even recognize my own wardrobe. Curtis just made changes in my life that were wonderful and although we fought over them I have to admit that deep inside I enjoyed them immensely.
I loved our dates and double date or triple date with Alice and Curtis's best friend Josh. I loved that he wanted to spend time with my friends and get to know them. I especially loved the small parties we threw at my apartment where we only invited close friends to join us. I looked at Curtis and saw my future with him in his smiles his eyes and how he treated me. I felt special being with him as he always made me his first priority. He was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. We had a connection that I never felt with anyone else before and I knew I was truly in love and very lucky to have found it in him.
Alice sent me a text on Friday that she wanted to lend me one of my purses and matching shoes to match and she was already at my place before I did. It was luck that I wasn't that far from the building on my way from work.
"So you also changed your locks now?" she asks me at the door the moment she spots me
"Yeah, Curtis did. He said they were more advanced and safe so we did it"
"Without telling me? I stood outside for hours waiting for you. What's going on? I have had your house keys ever since we were kids and you still live with your mother"
"I am sorry sweetie. it kind of got past me but I'm here now let's get in" I tell her calmly while opening the door and getting inside waiting for Alice to get in as I put in a password to the alarm system
"Curtis made you get an alarm system? What is all this? I mean what's happening here? Does he live here now?"
"I don't know. I mean I think he does he has a lot of his stuff here and spends nearly every night so I guess we're living together now" I answer heading to the kitchen to get us drinks as I set her glass
"He redecorated the place, changed the locks and stays here what? 90% of the time?" she entails
"I guess unless he's travelling of course. What's all this about anyway? I thought you liked Curtis"
"I do. I'm just worried about you I can't help being a mother hen. I feel like you guys are moving too fast"
"We are not I promise. I'm very happy"
"You are and I hate busting your bubble but he hasn't been very straightforward with you with the pace you're going"
"About what Alice?"
"Have you been to his house? Do you know where he lives when he isn't here? Have you met Mr and Mrs Donovan yet?" she asks looking me straight and in the eyes. I take my drink on one swing and pour myself another one.
"He hasn't met my mother has he?" I ask her with a wink
"Okay, but where is he when he is not here? Aren't you curious to meet his world and know where the guy actually lives?"
"The guy? Really?"
"You know what I mean. I'm only concerned for you as I can see you're blinded by love"
"Alice, why don't we go to the bedroom and get you those things? I don't want you to be late on your work thing" I tell her drinking the second glass and heading to the bedroom as I shut down the whole discussion
