Chapter 3 - Purgatory, The trial part 1

Kaf facing me replied,"The infinite realities below sometimes give birth impossiblities such as yourself. The white rooms are where supreme souls are born. The supreme souls are the archetypes from which mortal souls are born. All the supreme souls are based on a concept unique to themselves. After a mortal soul resonates with the concept of their supreme soul and saturates his soul enough to be able to sense this empyrean, they are able to merge with their supreme soul and shed their mortality. As for trial of becoming a creator, shedding your mortal shell is only the beginning; the beginning of your path towards godhood.

Though supreme souls are immortal, you still have to take the path towards godhood, otherwise you will just become a empty shell, a being devoid of personality, emotions, intelligence; a concept which will then become lost for eternity."

"So what is the trial?" I asked.

"The trial consists of 2 parts facing 7 deadly sins: Vanity, Gluttony, Avarice, Invidia, Wrath, Indolence and Lust and finding your original sin and facing 7 virtues;

Humility, Temperance, Generosity, Charity, Patience, Diligence and Chastity and finding your original virtue." Kaf answered.

"Would you like to start now?" Kaf asked

"Wait, what concept am I.I don't have any inkling of the concept of my supreme soul."I said.

"You will know about it in the trial."Kaf replied.

"Start the trial then." I said wearily.

Suddenly, the white room vanished and we appeared in a dim, dismal land whose horizon seemed to strectched to infinity.

The sky appeared to be rigid and dim; static like calm sunny day but far from providing warmth and tranquility that a sunny day provides.

Blood red rain kept falling from the sky, slowly in a drizzle.

Raindrops kept falling from sky and the land here seemed to be feeding on them like bottomless pit. The land appeared red because of it.

Sky and land here created a quaint ambience which could lure any sin from a person.

"These raindrops are the tears of the sordid souls here." Kaf said.

" Where are those sordid souls, I don't see any." I asked.

"They spirited away when you ascended to your white room, they were the mortal souls of your supreme soul from all around the vast stretches of time." Kaf replied.

"So, when will the trial start?" just as I asked,, a stairway stretching to heavens above appeared in front of me.

"You have the ascend this stairway to pass the trial of sin." Kaf said.

I started ascending the stairway , I took the first step and felt no different . So, I kept ascending. After ascending hundreds of steps, I started hearing murmurings, the murmurings which sounded to be ridiculing me. The murmuring got increasing loud as I ascended but they did not affect me. I don't have any self-repect for myself, so what can others ridiculing me do. I thought to myself thinking of the times people who ridiculed me in my mortal life, sometimes surreptitiously ,often openly.

After ascending thousands of steps I started feeling hungry. The feeling of hunger kept intensifying but it instead pleased me as it had been a long time since I felt hunger. I created a burger and started eating it while continuing to ascend.

A urge to excavate this stairway started to sprout in me. But I kept ascending. I can even let go of my pride let alone avarice when I didn't even have anything in my mortal life.

Ideas of destruction kept appearing in my head. But I kept going. I had learned anger dissipates with due time in my mortal shell.

I started feeling jealous of the ones who had already cleared the trial and started progressing in their path towards godhood. I kept ascending even with jealousy in my psche as I knew jealousy is a emotion which dissipated with success of thyself.

Desire to stop and rest consumed my psyche. But I kept acesending because I knew if I stopped now, I might never be able start again.

l started starving, starving for love, sensual love. I kept ascending as I had been carrying the curse of lust for years now .

Finally, I reached the end of stairway and saw darkness before me.

I started hesitating on whether I should start the jouney towards godhood, I felt insecure of the unknowns ahead. I felt it is better to indulge myself in the countless realities below until I can, so what if I become a mindless being, I will have a long time to enjoy myself before then. As I hesitated, I saw myself, a mirror suddenly appeared in front of me and I saw myself; I didn't have a face. I wanted to discover myself, I wanted to exist even when the concept of existence fades away some day.

I broke free of the fetters of hesitation and stepped into darkness ahead.

3rd person POV:

In darkness stood two figures; Kaal and Kaf.

Kaf looked at Kaal and said,"Congratulations aspiring creator. You have passed the trial of sin and found your original sin. Would you like to start the trial of virtue now?"

Kaal said," I didn't find my concept though!"

Kaf replied and asked again, "Your original sin and your original virtue is your concept. Would you like to start the trial of virtue now?"

Kaal replied," YES."

They vanished from the darkness like fog when the sun comes about.
