'Whether he accepts or not will determine everything. Luckily, his answer is fairly obvious.' Damian observed, the minute changes on the Satan's face and the tiny specks of emotion in his eyes revealing his stance on the issue.
His answer was an important factor in whether or not Damian accepts his offer. If Ajuka accepts such a ludicrous offer then it is reasonable to assume his interest in Damian is something that he can rely on lasting for the foreseeable future. If not… well despite his reservations, Damian will refuse.
"Why don't we go over the conditions first?" Ajuka offered, indirectly revealing his acceptance of the offer, or at least his willingness to accept. If he was not interested at all then he wouldn't even think about listening to Damian's demands.
"All I want is three favors from you. Of course, if you want to decline at the time you can feel free." Damian offered seriously, his hands locked together under the table. He NEEDED to get Ajuka to agree to this demand.
What he needed in life wasn't a well thought out plan that carried him throughout the entire 'canon' without issue, it was the ability to deal with any unexpected dangers as safely as possible. And with how he was right now, he couldn't do that himself. He needed others to do it for him.
This world wasn't that of a story, or perhaps it was merely a story turned into reality, however, that was what it truly was… reality. People lived, people died, people schemed, people adapted, and people betrayed.
This wasn't the novel written by Ichiei Ishibumi, it was a world of its own and to be honest that was a horrifying revelation that Damian was forced to accept. Issei Hyoudou may have been able to take the power of friendship and boobs to the pinnacle of power but…
What if he can't?
It was those four words that haunted him, forcing him to be the scheming bastard in the shadows that he once hated. This world was reality and that meant it was unpredictable, especially with beings like gods, yokai, and devils running amok.
What if Issei finds out that he is the Red Dragon Emperor and things follow the cannon and then BAM, a random high class being finds him because of his surely shitty demonic energy control and then kills him? In that world, there was no Oppai Dragon to rely on.
In that world, he was on his own. And that wasn't the only way Issei could end up dead. Random god, Riser, Raynare, Kokabiel, Vali, fucking LOKI, Rizevim, Ophis, and all the other thousands of people that could kill him before he could even blink.
What would he do to them? He may be the Red Dragon Emperor but before he was a Heavenly Dragon host, he was a boy that had more perverted delusions than brain cells and that had never even heard the word exercise.
In such a world, what was Damian supposed to do? He can't rely on Issei in such a turbulent world even if the Oppai Dragon had the support of the Gremory clan and Sirzechs by extension, it simply wasn't possible.
The truth was, Damian was afraid. The world of the future was complete, for lack of a better word, fucked. Devils, heroes, dragons, politics, gods, the infinite and the dream, and those monsters blocked by a single mystery and a flimsy barrier.
There was a period of time when Damian just decided to give up, to treat every day like it was his last and party until the world ended. But he decided that his choice was dumb and so he desired to protect the world even if it was a fruitless endeavor when the dust was settled.
The main reason for that was his parents. They were people he had grown to love, if they died he would lose a part of his soul with them. Even if the opponents he would face were undefeatable, even if the path he walked was soaked in his own blood, he would follow his path until his dying breath.
"Overall, I have no issue with that. I do have a condition of my own though." Ajuka accepted, returning Damian from the realm of thoughts. Hearing the Satan's words, Damian barely contained his sigh of relief.
"And what would that be Uncle?" Damian questioned the Devil of Innovation seriously, his golden eyes taking in all of his uncle's traits in an attempt to figure out his intentions. Yet he found no success, Ajuka suddenly appearing to be no more expressive than his father.
"I refuse to answer any questions regarding my gift." Ajuka revealed, his neutral expression abruptly switching into that of pure amusement. Truthfully, three wishes he could deny at will was not something worth concerning himself over.
He had been fully prepared to do anything besides anger the other factions. He had even been prepared to enlist the help of Azazel and his knowledge of sacred gears should it have been required. In comparison, three 'wishes' was nothing.
Of course, their mystery brought a certain degree of danger however he was Ajuka Beelzebub, he had danced with death and innovation enough to know mystery was not always a bad thing, most of the time it was but not always.
"That's fine. I may be premature in saying this, but I look forward to working with you Uncle." Damian spoke calmly, his hand outstretched for a handshake. All of the details would most likely be finalized at a later date however their relationship had been all but secured.
Both had benefited from the deal however it was clear to even a child that it leaned heavily toward Damian. While only Ajuka would truly know his intentions Damian was fairly confident in thinking that their deal was born from Ajuka's interest rather than his bias seeing as no other Astaroth member had been offered such a thing.
In the end, however, it didn't matter. All that mattered was that he now had the backing of Beelzebub himself.
