Some people may be curious, what is it like being the sole assistant of Ajuka Beelzebub, the man who made reality his servant? The answer was that it was incredibly monotonous, to such an extent that Damian truly questioned if it was worth it.
'At least it's helping me control my emotions. Better than the movies at least.' Damian thought to himself from his swivel chair where he swung back and forth, his senses keeping track of his teacher's every movement.
Even if it was impossible for him to be acknowledged by the public or Ajuka it wasn't impossible for him to learn a thing or two. Well, it would stay theoretical until Ajuka needed him. Hopefully, that day would come within the next century or seven.
Ajuka Beelzebub was a man without flaws when it came to innovation, what help did he need from somebody who hardly understood what he was doing? In the end, Damian's position of assistant was merely a fancy title for an observer.
'I bet people would pay millions for this.' Damian thought to himself absentmindedly as he swayed to the beat of his heart. To see Ajuka Beelzebub himself create life was a show devils and even other factions would pay top dollar to see.
Sadly Damian had seen enough of it to grow bored of it. It was amazing seeing him create things from practically nothing at first but soon the appeal grew stale. After all, very little of it was something he could see and the rest he couldn't understand.
However, he would admit that the end result was always spectacular. Whether it be a failed product that created an impressive explosion or a successful creation that quite literally cried for joy at its own birth there was no limit to the wondrous sights Ajuka could create.
"I believe our time is up for today." Ajuka alerted him after a few hours had passed. While it was true that his parents had set a limit for how long he could spend with the satan Ajuka's warning was more so him telling Damian he was going to begin working on something he wasn't allowed to see.
"I'll see you tomorrow." Damian said casually, a pink magic circle appearing below his feet before he vanished, dully noting the increased frequency of his teacher's secret projects. In all likelihood, he was preparing for the Evil Piece ceremony that would soon occur.
Normally it was a small scale event held to celebrate one family's child receiving their evil pieces. However, this generation was quite special. Rather than be spread out like children usually were with the devil's low birth rate, there were actually three happening simultaneously.
A few years prior, even before he had met Sona and the rest, Riser Phenex had received his own and it was said that his peerage was growing nicely. A year ago both Sairaorg, who had finally gotten over his depression, and Seekvaira had recieved their own.
Utilizing their fairly close relationship and same age the three had decided to share the date since it would result in less work for each of them. If there were three separate occasions that the three would each be obligated to attend it wouldn't be enjoyable at all.
Naturally, this resulted in an increase in his teacher's workload for the time being. Unfortunately, Damian didn't have the time to consider the waste as his mother was working him to the bone to prepare him for the event.
Stepping out from the quickly dispersing magic circle it didn't even take a single moment for his mother to appear by his side, grasp him tightly by the wrist and drag him out into their ballroom that was substantially smaller than that of the Astaroth clan.
"Let's begin with your dancing skills. They were well below subpar for the last event but I won't have that stay true." Astros demanded, quickly moving his body like he was a doll to check for any wrinkles and the like.
She had given him a small challenge before he left to watch Ajuka play around, he was supposed to keep his outfit completely clean and unwrinkled. If he were to do so normally it would be difficult but luckily he was a devil, imagination was their key to controlling the heavens.
"Am I going to have to dance?" Damian questioned, something he had asked himself for a wide variety of activities. His mother seemed to believe that the dozens of things she was teaching him would be required but he found it hard to believe.
The last event had a dancing portion however that was limited to the adults and he doubted the current event would be much different. No, he would be lying to say he expected anything of the sort to happen at all.
The former event was a party, an event for people to mingle and enjoy themselves, the latter however was an event that is treated with the utmost solemnity. Of course, there would be a small afterparty consisting of the adults of the three clans and any who wanted to spend their time among their kin but the children such as himself were not required to attend.
"I don't know. But I'd much rather have wasted my time than let you have a bad memory on such an important day." Astros declared simply, her eyes blazing with a chilling determination as she forced him to dance.
Normally children's dances were more formal and elegant than confusing but Damian was sure his dance would change that. Currently, he was the size of a fully grown adult despite being only ten years old and so any person of his age, the only people he would be allowed to dance with by etiquette, would appear strange when accompanied by somebody of his size.
Rias herself was the tallest between herself and Sona and yet she was only 157 centimeters which was nothing to be ashamed of. However, Damian was standing tall at 188 centimeters, over thirty centimeters taller than her. In essence, he was almost an entire foot taller than her let alone Sona who was quite a bit shorter.
The event was stressful, especially when the preparation was factored in, but it would be a lie to say that he wasn't excited for it. Gathering his peerage was an attractive concept especially since it was imperative to his survival but meeting people he had seldom seen in over two years was almost equally so.
He had heard rumors however he wanted to see those people with his eyes once again.
