Chapter 13 - Private training room

Watching the fight between Bai Jingshen and Terr, Claw already had a bad feeling in his stomach. When Terr went to the ground though he was just stunned at how easy this fight was for Bai Jingshen. Safe for one surprising moment, Terr didn't pose any threat to Thobar's new recruit at all. Seeking for a valid reason, he turned his face to Bennet.

"You deceitful old man, how is this a new recruit. This Bai Jingshen fought like a seasoned old veteran. I'm not paining you anything.", yelled Claw with a furious voice. Although he didn't really care about the material, but he at least had to safe some face for his disciple. On top of that, Bai Jingshen's fight right now made him afraid for the newcomer competition.

Before Bennet could answer, the younger brother, Ra Iros, made his way over towards Bai Jingshen though. The former emperor eyed him critically, not in the mood for another fight. However, when Ra arrived in front of his brother, he only sighed, gently picked him up and walked towards the door.

"Let's go master. I'm looking forward to the competition, Bai Jingshen.", could a steady voice be heard, as both brothers left through the door.

Claw grit his teeth, but was inwardly glad with his sensible disciple giving him a way out.

"Whatever, we will deliver your materials! The only thing that matters is the competition anyway."

With those words Claw hurriedly made his way out through the door as well.

Bennet just wanted to celebrate their victory, when he was interrupted by his recruit's stoic face. Dahlia on the other hand quickly took Bai Jingshen's wrist, looking at his underarm.

The instructor was stunned for a second before he remembered:

"Right, how do feel? Sit down for now, we will get a medic!"

Before he called for a medic, Bai Jingshen's voice reach his ears though:

"Private room, please."

Not really sure why, Bennet nonetheless told Dahlia:

"Dahlia, could you lead him to a private training room? It would be best if he could use it for two months. I will get a medic in the meantime."

Dahlia just nodded and left the room with Bai Jingshen in tow. Bai Jingshen was dragged further down the hallway, before turning to the right.

"Here we are, "explained Dahlia while holding her bracelet at room number 14's display.

"I unlocked the room, now you need to hold your bracelet here and it will be yours for the next two months."

Bai Jingshen did as he was told and his AI told him in its still mechanical voice, that the clearance was successful. With everything done they entered the private training room.

Bai Jingshen was a bit confused with his first look around, because the room seemed almost empty. It only had four grey walls, of which the opposite wall was slightly bent, a comfy looking couch and a locker together in one corner. For now, he wasn't sure why this would be a training room, but Dahlia didn't feel flustered or anything, so they just sat down on the couch.

"How are you feeling? Are you dizzy? You should drink some water while we wait.", asked Dahlia with concern written all over her face.

"Sure. Can I get some?", answered Bai Jingshen calmly, obviously not threatened by the poison. He just didn't want to admit his immunity, concerned to draw suspicions slowly, so he played along with Dahlia. For now, the people Bai Jingshen met simply made their own explanations for some of his strange behavior, but it didn't hurt to be cautious.

"Oh sorry, I forgot you're new to this. Your bracelet is already registered so you just need to tell your AI.", Dahlia patiently answered. Well, so much for weird behavior.

Bai Jingshen realized, that he hadn't any time to get used to his bracelet yet. Seems like, after this poison situation is sorted out, he had another point to deal with. Bai Jingshen couldn't wait too finally be alone. For now, he just had to try it out, so he spoke to his bracelet:

"AI. Water."

The AI returned a simple yes, and the wall in front of Bai Jingshen slowly revealed a rectangular opening. A simple, white desk came sliding out, before it stopped in front of the young man. While the wall slowly closed again, a hole appeared on the table. With a quiet "woosh" sound a bottle popped out of the table and hovered in the air above it until the hole closed up again. Afterwards, the bottle of water gently landed on the table again. Bai Jingshen was impressed by this ingenuity. He grabbed the bottle of water and took a refreshing sip, while Dahlia added on to her explanation:

"You can also order food, or a training suite, etc. For more information just ask your AI. Actually, it would be good for you, if you got used to your AI as fast as poosible. AIs are very important in our daily life and can help you with almost anything."

While Bai Jingshen patiently listened to Dahlia, a load shout could be heard from outside:

"Jinghsen, which room are you in? Opened the door please."

Bai Jingshen told his AI to open the door and Bennet came in with the medic he already knew.

The female doctor smiled wryly while saying:

"Two times a day, recruit. I hope you won't keep this tempo up. I take it you got poisoned this time? I can work with either a drop of blood or scanning your body with Mana, your call."

Bai Jingshen thought for a second before he raised his hand and closed his eyes under the other's perplexed looks. Bai Jingshen concentrated of the energy in his Daintain. He carefully tried to take control over it. As the energy came into contact with Bai Jigshen's consciousness, it suddenly transmitted a feeling of closeness, almost lifelike but still tied to Bai Jingshen. If Bai Jingshen had to describe this feeling, it felt like a child returning to its mother's hug, a cat beginning to purr at its owner's touch, or a dog excitedly running around its best friend.

As the energy began to stir, it slowly revolved around the ball of poison in his Daintain. Bai Jiingshen could visibly see the poison dissolving and turning into the same energy. A part of it then made its way through Bai Jingshen's body, bringing with it a comfortable feeling, almost causing Bai Jingshen to moan.

Before the other's could notice anything weird about him, Bai Jingshen quickly urged the energy to deliver a drop of poison to his hand. To Bai Jingshen's delight this worked without any hitch and a black drop of poison began to run down his palm, before the energy grew dormant in his body again.

The female medic was almost too surprised by this development, only managing to catch this drop of poison shortly before it fell to the floor. She couldn't help but mutter quietly: "Impressive control."

Afterwards she scanned the drop of poison with her Mana.

"Hmm, the poison of a middle-grade tier one yellow scale boa. Even though this demon beast developed poison, its strength still lies in its powerful muscles. It's no surprise you feel ok, a poison of this grade wouldn't hurt a high-grade Body Refinement Realm cultivator."

With this explanation Bai Jingshen grew a little curious if demon beasts were graded in the same way he knew in the Rising Force World, so he turned to Bennet to ask him.

The instructor was already used to Bai Jingshen not knowing basic knowledge, so he happily explained while the medic prepared an antidote:

"Demon beast's categorization is easy to understand. Just like artifacts, weapons, medicine, etc., they are divided into different tiers. Tier one corresponds to the human Body Refinement Realm, Tier two corresponds to the human Qi Gathering Realm, so on and so forth.

On top of that every realm for demon beasts is divided into low- middle- and high-grade, equaling 1st-3rd stage, 4th-6th stage, and 7th-9th stage. You should be careful about these divisions though. Never underestimate a demon beast. There are huge differences in the same realm and most demon beasts should be fought in groups. This grading system became the standard throughout the Rising Force World, New World, and Great Cultivation World.

Luckily, demon beasts in our world never posed any real threat, as they aren't able to exceed tier 4 without human help. Just like we humans too would be stuck without gene activators."

Bai Jingshen listened to Bennet and quickly realized, that the grading system was the same he already knew. The last sentence suddenly perked his interest though. What did Bennet mean with humans would be stuck at the Golden Core Realm? Again, he found another topic he really had to look up.

Luckily, the medic finally handed him a vial of antidote before quickly grabbing her things and rushing out of the door just as fast as last time. Seeing the doctor leave, Bennet and Dahlia also said their goodbyes and went back to work. Bai Jingshen was finally alone, able to sort out his thoughts.
