Chapter 15 - General Mao

After sitting down in a mediation posture again, Bai Jingshen this time directed his mind towards his Dantian. He could already feel the benefits of having a Sea Of Consciousness, as investigating his body became a lot easier.

He realized, that thanks to the energy belonging to his body, his flesh, muscles, tendons, meridians, everything felt intricately tied together, forming a closed off system. His body would treat all outside forces with hostility and the energy would suppress and dissolve foreign objects. Therefore, he decided to call it core energy for now.

Bai Jingshen carefully began to drive his core energy again and watched on as the poison slowly vanished. He felt a comfortable feeling spread all over his body and wasn't shy to moan out loud this time. Every cell of his' seemed more alive and greedily sucked in some core energy. Bai Jingshen could vividly feel his body strengthening. This didn't lead to a direct increase in cultivation, but it would still slowly increase his physical strength and defense.

Bai Jingshen was thrilled about this surprising development. He was certain this had to do with his special constitution. Although he never heard about a similar constitution before, he could already derive that his body had limitless potential. Just like techniques, a body constitution could also be strengthened. Unfortunately, no standard existed for strengthening one's constitution, because every single constitution was special. However, Bai Jingshen had a pretty good idea about what to do, as he observed his core energy increasing a tiny bit while dissolving the poison. Not all of it was used for strengthening his body obviously.

After a few hours, Bai Jingshen finally got rid of the poison. As he just decided to finally relax a bit, his gaze fell on the vial of antidote on the table. Thinking about how overbearing his core energy dissolved the poison, Bai Jingshen's confidence in his body was high. He walked over to the table, grabbed the vial of green liquid and swallowed it in one gulp.

Bai Jingshen didn't even give the medicine any time to try and heal something, He instantly urged his core energy to also suppress and dissolve the liquid. After a quick check, Bai Jingshen was certain, that his core energy would work alone, so he didn't even need to pay attention.

With two major matters out of the way, Bai Jingshen laid down on the couch. He didn't feel particularly tired, as he was immersed in a meditation state most of the time, but he still wanted to rest his mind and body a bit.

Bai Jingshen simply enjoyed the quiet for an hour or so, before he spoke out loud:

"AI, are you here?"

"I'm always here if you need me user.", answered the mechanical voice.

"Good, let's change your voice."

While talking to his AI, Bai Jingshen realized how his Sea Of Consciousness boosted his intelligence. Now he seemingly wouldn't have any problems with the new language anymore.

"What would you prefer, user?"

Bai Jingshen looked at his bracelet while thinking. He quickly came up with a good idea though:

"Change into a middle aged general. You need short, white hair and a white armor. You will be named General Mao from now on and you will call me 'Lord Bai', understood?".

A moment later a deep, manly voice could be heard:

"Yes, Lord Bai."

"Hmm, close enough. With hat out of the way tell me about the cultivation in the Rising Force World. Keep it short."

"Understood, Lord Bai. The Rising Force World is pervaded by Mana, which sets the foundation of all cultivation. Someone with the wish to grow stronger will circulate their Mana through their body with the help of a cultivation technique. At the beginning they will train their body until it is able to withstand the impact of withstanding Mana. Next, they gather Mana in their whole body until they gain a feeling of fullness.

Afterwards, they have to decide on nine acupoints in their body where they gather their Mana together and build nine foundational pillars in each of them. The sturdier these pillars turn out, the stronger their foundation will be. A sturdy foundation will be important in the next step, in order to support stronger Mana Cores, one per acupoint.

At this point cultivators in the Rising Force World were stuck or a long time until the genius Doctor Cenric of house Wilton invented gene boosts. With their help, new cultivation realms were opened.

After breaking through from the Mana Core Realm, cultivators would use the help of gene boosts and their Mana as fuel, in order to incite an evolution of their genes. Like this, their body's dormant potential would be unleashed, formally entering the Gene Activation Realm. Only at this step could the elite be separated from the ordinary, as the inherent power in a cultivator's body becomes apparent.

Apologies, further information is beyond your authorization."

Bai Jingshen was slightly annoyed as he wasn't able to learn more. Up until the Mana Core Realm, the Rising Force World's cultivation system didn't seem that different from what he was used to. It only seemed like the proceedings happening in the Dantian for the Great Cultivation World's cultivators were spread over the whole body in the Rising Force World. Hearing for the second time how cultivators were stuck at the Mana Core Realm however, caught Bai Jingshen's attention.

From what he heard it sounded like the Rising Force World was a young world with incomplete laws, but this was only Bain Jingshen's assumption. Sadly, he couldn't gather more information about cultivation after the Mana Core Realm. His only conjecture was that cultivators in this world focused on their body – or rather essence, while cultivators in his world focused on the spirit. Not being able to learn more, Bai Jingshen sought an explanation for a different topic:

"Mao, tell me about the New World."

"Yes, Lord Bai. The New World suddenly descended almost a thousand years ago. It turned out to be a completely New World, although it already had inhabitants, mostly beasts. People quickly figured out, that killing these beasts not only provided materials for artifact crafting, but they would also dissolve into immortal Qi, a part of which could be absorbed by cultivators. On top of that, all sort of spiritual herbs and other opportunities could be found in the New World, driving people crazy for exploration.

The exploration efforts would have progressed much faster if there wasn't a problem. Cultivators from other worlds were rejected by the New World's laws, until they slowly converted their cultivation to immortal Qi. Weaker cultivators therefore could only stay in the New World for a few months, before having to come back for a few weeks. Stronger cultivators could stay for a longer time, but for them converting their cultivation also took longer.

Many organizations therefore use multiple strategies to strengthen their forces in the New World. One of the most successful turned out to be, having young recruits who never cultivated Mana or spirit Qi at all. Also, having a good cultivation method could prolong your time in the New World. But still, until you are fully accepted by the New World's laws you would still have to return from time to time. For new recruits this time period usually lasts about two years. Unfortunately, if you ever wanted to return to the Rising Force World afterwards, you would have to go through the process in reverse.

Why would people still be crazy about the New World you ask? Because only in the New World is it possible to surpass the Immortal Realm.

I hope my summary contained the most important points for you right now, Lord."

Bai Jingshen suddenly sat up straight after what his AI just told him. Even though what General Mao just explained sounded like an advertisement written by Thobar Bionics, the last sentence still rang in Bai Jingshen's ears. The New World brought the opportunity of surpassing the Immortal Realm.

Wasn't this what he sought after from the start? Wasn't this what he hoped for, when he observed his father longingly gazing at the stars? He finally found a way.

Bai Jingshen's motivation suddenly skyrocketed, and he jumped up, quickly arriving in the training ground's center. In order to clear all obstacle in his way, Bai Jingshen once again trusted his powerful techniques, which helped him reach the top before. But first, he had to sort out which of his plenty martial arts were useful for the current him.
