Bai Jingshen followed Kayleen back out of the hospital. This time he got a glance in one of the rooms and saw a patient lying in bed, his upper arm made out of metal. A machine was connected to his arm, reading out all kinds of signals Bai Jingshen couldn't understand. Kayleen, noticing Bai Jingshen's eyes roaming around, tried to explain it to this poor, tech-averse tribesman. Maybe she could get him back on the right path after all?
"What you see is just standard equipment in hospitals. That man probably got his upper arm destroyed in a fight and doesn't have high enough cultivation to regrow it. His new prosthetic can help him life a normal life again. On top of that it has a few extra benefits, for example telling our hospital his biometrics. This arm is most likely even made by our company, Thobar Bionics. If everything goes well we will colleagues there in the future."
Looking back at the smiling Kayleen, Bai Jingshen figured, that he probably understood most of what she was saying. He even grew a bit interested in Thobar Bionics now.
When the duo came down to the ground floor, Kayleen called for Fluffy and together they waiter outside the door for a car ordered by Kayleen.
Bai Jingshen used the time to again take in his surroundings. He realized that this hospital was obviously not a high-class one as he couldn't see any strong people in his surroundings. Therefore it was even more surprising when an aura a bit stronger than Richard's came out of the hospital.
A seemingly very angry man in a black business suit rushed out of the hospital. On his way out he even yelled out: "How dare you, Lornt! If you dare to hide Reed's Robot, you are done for. Even the Church wouldn't have your back then. You are just a small hospital after all!"
Bai Jingshen noticed the frightened looks on the onlookers faces and realized, that this man was causing trouble on purpose here. After the man left, an old man appeared in the entrance. He sighed audibly, before he turned around to walk away, but when he spotted Kayleen in front of the building he made his way over.
Kayleen explained to Bai Jingshen real quick, that this man was the hospital's president and also a priest of Mhalor's Church.
"May the light guide us. Uncle Lornt, have we run into trouble?", asked Kayleen quickly. Bai Jingshen meanwhile took a look at the new arrival. This priest seemed old, but his strength was nothing to scuff at at the peak of the Foundation Establishment Realm. Furthermore he had a special kind of aura on him, which Bai Jingshen recognized as an enlightened aura. Having an enlightened aura at the Foundation Establishment Realm was considered quite impressive in the Great Cultivation World. After all this was a requirement for reaching the Nascent Soul Realm.
Just as Bai Jingshen mustered the old man, the latter also scrutinized Bai Jiingshen. In their New Haven City someone dressed in dao robes stood out like a sore thumb after all. However, he already had enough on his plate, so he simply wasn't in the mood to get to know Bai Jingshen. After giving him a small nod, Mr. Lornt answered Kayleen:
"And give us endless strength. Haa, same old, same old. These Black Wind Mercenaries still want to buy our hospital. Only this time they actually used their brain. They want to use the fact that Reed's Androids lost their biggest project to make trouble for use. Just now they even came and accused us of hiding this supposed robot."
Kyleen asked worriedly: "These Black Wind Mercenaries are supposed to be a subsidiary force of Reed's Androids, aren't they? Will we be fine, if they put pressure on us?"
"They wouldn't dare to go too far. Our St. Igula Hospital still belongs to the Church after all. Only, if they play their cards right, they might actually get their hands on our building this time."
Bai Jingshen meanwhile followed their conversation with disinterest. Even though Richard helped him, but he didn't feel anything for the hospital itself. He only remembered the part about this Reed's Androids obviously having lost a treasure. Who knows, maybe he would be able to find it, luck was after all also a part as to why he could become the strongest in the Great Cultivation World.
Kayleen and Uncle Lornt continued to talk a bit more until a car finally arrived in front of the young woman. Now already used to some things in this world, Bai Jingshen nodded at the old priest and boarded the car first. Kyleen smiled apologetically at Lornt and quickly entered the car too, with Fluffy following behind her.
After a short flight Bai Jingshen noticed their arrival at a part of town with smaller houses. They looked a bit more decorated compared to those boring skyscrapers and were surrounded by a lot of greenery. Bai Jingshen spotted a lot of training grounds being used by young adults. At the other side he saw the most beautiful building so far, but what really drew his attention was the monument behind this building. It was one of the connections between this world and the New World. It was also his goal for now.
Bai Jingshen quickly got a clearer picture of his surroundings, as Kayleen happily explained to him that they reached the educational district. Most of what he could see belonged to New Haven Academy, and Kayleen even pointed out her dorm. He also realized that all those young people here were students. Most of those obviously had the dream of entering the New World. Kayleen told him that he might have to fight with some of them for a spot, but Bai Jingshen of course wouldn't be afraid of inexperienced students.
Shortly after, their car came to a stop in front of a big circular building. This building was open one side and Bai Jingshen could already see people training there.
Kayleen took Bai Jingshen to enter the training grounds and came before a small reception. A proper looking, middle-aged woman politely greeted them and asked what they were here for. Kyleen told her, that Mr. Tal should have arranged for an instructor to test Bai Jingshen.
The Receptionist seemed to already have been told about their arrangements and told them to enter room 3. Kayleen thanked her, before walking down a small hallway together with Bai Jingshen and Fluffy. Obviously this wasn't Kayleen's first time here.
When they entered room 3, Bai Jingshen instantly took up his guard. The whole room was filled with a ferocious aura and loud shouts could suddenly be heard. Bai Jingshen quickly made out their origin, as he saw 10 burly, tall man throwing punches at what he assumed to be training dummies at one side of the room. They seemed to be training a simple fist technique but each of their punches was filled with a powerful strength, which could destroy rocks and splinter trees into a thousand pieces. Behind them stood a moving mountain, shouting at them for every mistake they made. His bare upper body showed off his muscles to everyone, while his right arm was covered in a layer of metal with threating, black spikes.
As Bai Jingshen entered the room with Kayleen and Fluffy, the dog beast instinctively stood before Kayleen. Bai Jingshen though felt his blood boil again. After seemingly lost in a new world, the instructors gaze after he turned towards them finally ignited Bai Jingshen' fighting spirit again. He realized that in all his confusion he actually forgot what he could always rely on. His own fighting prowess.
Seeing the fire burning in Bai Jingshen's eyes, instructor Bennet smirked and without saying anything, entered the fighting ring in the room's center. Bai Jingshen quickly took of his robe, giving it to a surprised Kayleen and also leapt into the fighting ring.
