Now there was only one problem left for. How could Kayleen communicate her idea to the white-robed man. Ever since he first spoke he appeared to be calmly standing opposite her and waiting for her answer. Non-verbal communication was the obvious choice here, so Kayleen slowly held her hands out in front of her, showing her palms. This was something she learned from a young age at home. Her father was a master beast tamer after all. Well, the refugee doesn't have to know about that…
Kayleen slowly made a step towards Bai Jingshen, who in response slowly made one step backwards. Obviously Kayleen's communication wasn't enough, so she decided to place one hand on Fluffy's head, so her black-horn dog beast would hide its hostility. Kayleen didn't notice, but this action actually led to Bai Jingshen slightly reading himself for a possible flight.
Luckily Kayleen got a better idea and spoke to her AI: "2213, can you show some pictures of St. Igula Hospital and a few lightly injured patients getting treated?"
Coming from Kayleen's wrist, a cheerful "Sure" could be heard and blue shimmering holographic pictures started to appear above her bracelet. They showed a few-stories-tall building which obviously looked rather cramped between multiple high-reaching skyscrapers. Obviously the smaller building couldn't even get much light, as the bridges connecting those skyscrapers simply crossed above the smaller building, blocking out the sun. Multiple, rather poor looking people with various injuries could be seen entering the smaller building.
Then the holographic projection vanished and was replaced by a new one, showing a man in a white clinical robe stitching a man's wounded chest. Afterwards he seemed to apply a small bit of greenish-transparent liquid, which led to the wound slowly healing already.
Bai Jingshen wasn't to surprised about those projections, as array formations in the great cultivation world would be able to do something similar. He looked at what the projection showed him and tried to figure out what this young woman wanted to convey. Was she asking if he's injured? Most probably, right? He looked up at her face, which now showed a seemingly trustworthy smile. Noticing his gaze, the young lady beckoned him with her hand. Even without any spoken words, Bai Jingshen could by now figure out, that this woman wanted him to follow her and bring him to a healer.
Still deterred by Kayleen's possible backup, Bai Jingshen carefully made the decision to follow her for now. A healer seemed better than a possible cell… or worse. Therefore Bai Jingshen slowly made a step towards Kayleen now. The latter's smile grew a bid wider, happy with how her communication seemingly succeeded. She turned around and walked back towards New Haven City, meanwhile telling her AI to give her friend at St. Igula Hospital a heads-up about their arrival. Bai Jingshen got a small shock, seeing the redhead talking to her backup again, but now he already made his decision and it was better to be consequent now.
While following behind Kayleen, Bai Jingshen finally had time to take stock of his situation. He looked down on his body and noticed, that his white robe seemed to be the same robe he had on during his ascension, only the array patterns where gone now. Though using his body a bit more, Bai Jingshen vaguely felt a bit unusual. He tried to jump up and down a bit, startling Kayleen, but the woman began walking again after seeing Bai Jingshen smiling apologetically. This was enough for now as Bai Jingshen figured out where his feeling cam from. His cultivation seemed to be gone. Inwardly Bai Jingshen panicked a little. The only explanation for his unusual state seemed to be a failure during the array's activation. Closing his eyes, Bai Jingshen tried to feel everything about himself and came to a few conclusions.
First, there really was not a bit of Qi inside himself and cultivation seemed to be at the rank 9 of the body refinement stage. Second, his soul seemed to be only half as strong as it was before and many of his memories where a blurry mess, with only his memories pertaining to his parents, cultivation, and sect seemingly clearer. Third, his body seemed to have acquired a special constitution, which he hadn't had before. There where many special body constitutions in the great cultivation world, so it wasn't that surprising, if Bai Jingshen wasn't able to recognize his new constitution. Still, finding out more about his own body became Bai Jingshen's top priority now. After all, how could you start cultivating if you didn't even know about your own foundation.
As Bai jingshen was deep in his own thoughts, he didn't realize that his group had slowly left the forest by now. As Kayleen cold out to him, he opened his eyes and shortly after a look of surprise could be seen on his face. Letting his gaze roam around, other than Kayleen's concerned looking face, a completely novel scenery entered his eyes.
Bai Jingshen saw a gigantic city. Not only was it expensive in with and length, but even in height. When Bai Jingshen saw those weirdly tall buildings in Kayleen's holographic projection, he hadn't realized that those made up most of this city. Gigantic buildings made out of glass and brittle metal, interconnected on multiple levels, could be seen reaching for the skies all over this city. It even took Bai Jingshen a bit to realize, that they where still standing on a hill a small distance away from those houses.
Bai Jingshen was brought back out of his daze, when a small vehicle flew over form the sky and landed in front of Kayleen. He could see a few of those vehicles flying between all those buildings, obviously transporting people, though most of them seemed to prefer flying by themselves. At least not everything was different here than in Bai Jingshen's world.
On Kayleen's repeated beckoning, Bai Jingshen followed her through an opening into the metal vehicle. The young woman seemed to communicate with this vehicle. Afterwards the existing openings were closed by a glass panel and their vehicle began to fly by itself. Feeling the energy circulating, bai Jingshen could tell, that Kayleen wasn't driving this vehicle. It seemed to fly by itself, making Bai Jingshen a bit intrigued. Noticing his curiosity, Kayleen was a bit confused. Although in this day and age, there where still people trying to get into as little contact as possible with all kinds of technology, but it would be a huge coincidence to encounter one of those. Truth be told, Kayleen was a little bit overburdened with this whole situation now and hoped her friend at the hospital could help her out soon. Sometimes she really was annoyed at herself for always trying to help.
The young woman thus decided to ignore this stranger. This was easier sad than done though. The young man kept a calm expression throughout their car ride, but he constantly turned his head in all directions. He was obviously surviving everything around them and only calmed down a bit when Fluffy started growling again, feeling a bit uneasy from the man's behavior. This would only last for a small time as the man's eyes was started to wander again, when they really entered the city area. He looked up and down the skyscrapers, observed the poorer and weaker people who could only walk on the ground and followed those higher ranked cultivators with his eyes, as they made their way into different buildings. Kayleen was sure, that they felt his gaze, but they probably were used to this situation and let their guard down inside the city.
Suddenly the young man spoke something and pointed at a monitor almost taking up the entire height of a skyscraper they just flew past. On it, an add was shown, urging people to explore the new world and showing off multiple achievements of different groups. Kayleen was surprised though, as she understood a few words from the man's mouth, namely "Vermillion Flame Sect", which was one of the strongest sect originally inhabiting the Great Cultivation World. For now, this was only a sidenote for Kayleen though as their ride finally reached its destination.
