After Min Yun and I talked, we decided to go back to the palace and prepare to interrogate Bok A. Actually, it really hurts because I pitied Bok A. Not knowing that all of her misery and sorrow were just an act.
"Hold tight." Min Yun said. I put my hands on his waist and we started travelling. After an hour, we arrived in the palace.
Min Yun went to his office and I excused myself to go to my quarter to change my clothes.
I was about to enter in my quarter when someone behind me called me.
"Your Highness!" I exclaimed and bowed my head.
"What happened to you?" he stared at the clothe wrapped on my arm.
"Your clothes are dirty. Is this blood?" he moved closer to me. I tried to hide it and I was about to lie but he talked first. "Don't you dare lie to me."
I looked in his eyes. I couldn't lie to him especially he looked serious.
"We had a fight."
"We?"
"Min Yun, Ji han and I."
"Where?"
"In the neighboring town. We thought that the person we helped was a good person but she betrayed us, that's why I have wound."
"Your other wounds are not yet healing, then now?"
"Min Yun treated my wound."
"You should go to the clinic. "
"I can't, I have things to do first. In fact it's not that deep."
"It seems like you and Min Yun are hiding secrets from me."
"We are not."
"Are you still finding evidence? "
"Your Highness, it's not about you. If we have found an evidence, we can tell it to you right a way."
"Did you know what happened to me now?"
"What?"
"Kim Man Shik went to my quarter."
"Why?"
"He kept on asking about our wedding."
I didn't respond.
"What do you think?"
I nodded. "I promise you I will help. If you plan when will be the wedding, I will gladly participate."
"I'll ask you again, are you sure you want to do this? It would affect your life. "
I shrugged my head. " No, it might ruin you if I will not marry you. I told you, I'm willing to help. You have my words. "
I saw him smile. That made me smile too. A while ago, he looked stress but now, maybe, hearing my words made him feel okay.
"I'll think the day of the wedding. Maybe we can start planning about this tomorrow over lunch?"
I nodded. "We can. But can I please excuse myself now? Min Yun needs me in his office."
He smiled again. "See you tomorrow, my future queen."
I was stunned on what he said. I didn't expect that he will say that. He looked happy after hearing my answers. I already gave my words. And I couldn't let the king ruined just because I declined the marriage. Though at first I was hesitant because marriage is a sacred thing but I need to help the king in order to gain his power.
After the king left, I took a bath and chose another clothes. I just fixed myself then went out to go to Min Yun's office.
I saw Ji han sitting while Min Yun was busy reading on his paper.
"Are you okay now?" Ji han asked.
I laughed. "You've asked that many times."
"I couldn't help but to be worried. You might die if you will not avoid it. "
"I'm okay, alright? you don't have to worry. It is just a scratch."
"But you bleed." Ji han frowned.
"I should be the one asking you if you are okay."
"No wounds. " Ji han proudly said.
"You're a good fighter then" I joked. Ji han and I laughed but Min Yun looked serious.
"By the way, Min Yun. I wanted to talk to you about something after the interrogation. It involves the king."
He nodded. "Let's go to the interrogation room."
I followed them. I was a bit anxious because I don't know if I could face Bok A. But I needed answers to my questions that's why I decided to join Ji han and Min Yun.
I saw Bok A tied on a chair while the 3 men were in jail.
Bok A smirked when she saw us. Her personality was different from the first we met her.
"Interrogate me to know who ordered us?" she smirked like a dog. Her eyes are full of ridicule.
"I want to asked you first, why did you lie to us?" I asked controlling my crackness of my voice.
She didn't stop smirking like a crazy girl.
" Because all of you are just a puppet."
"Puppet? Who told you that?" Ji han asked.
"Aren't you?"
"We're asking nicely. Answer us directly." I was getting angry again.
"Why? Would you picked a stone again and gonna hit me again?" she challenged me.
"You want me to do that until you die?" I challenged her back.
"As if you can. tsk!"
"You don't know me. I can do whatever I want."
"Yeah, yeah. Because you are the future queen. You can kill anyone." She said showing how bored she was.
"I might kill you now." I said.
"Go on. I'm not afraid. Someone will kill me still."
"Who?" Min Yun interrupted.
"Can you guess?" she seemed unbothered.
"It's Kim Man Shik's ordered, isn't?" Min Yun asked.
She smirked " Just so you know that Kim Man Shik is not the only powerful here. You'll be shock to know who it is."
"Why not tell us now who it is?"
"And what can I gain if I tell you?"
"Security." Min Yun said.
Bok A laughed so hard, so sarcastic.
"You can't even protect yourselves. Look at the mirror. You are just a puppet of the king. You don't even know who is the powerful here."
"You are ruining the king's name. Who do you think is more powerful than him?"
"Everyone knows he is useless. "
I slapped her hard on the face. "The king is not useless. Don't you ever dare called him that. "
She smirked again. "Affected much?"
I went outside the interrogation room for a while. I needed an air because her answes were suffocating.
I didn't notice that Min Yun followed me. "You should go back to your quarter. She has no plan to answer us the way we wanted her to answer."
I took a deep breath. "No, I'll stay here. she mentioned that someone will kill her. Should we let that person kill her without knowing the person behind?"
"Just like the other people we've interrogated, they had no plan to spill the name who ordered them. "
"What if we---" I wasn't able to continue what will I say when someone rushed towards us.
"Where is she?" the old lady asked.
"Who?" Min Yun asked
"Bok A" the lady answered.
"You are not allowed here, this is an interrogation room."
"I need to ask her something about my husband." the old lady looked teary eye.
"Husband?" I asked.
"The one who died in Kipatchi town."
"Bok A is your daughter?" I assumed because she didn't tell us if he is her real father or what.
"No. She's my husband's mistress." she said.
That made me stunned for a while upon hearing a revelation.
"Wait..."
"I want to asked her why she did that to my husband. She was the one who influenced my husband to do something bad."
"Do you know something?" Min Yun asked.
She nodded.
"Let us sit for a while. " I said because the old lady seemed to give up in her position. Looking at her physical appearance, she looked like a noble lady, came from a rich family.
"I am the one who handled your husband's case. We put him in jail because he killed someone. He said something that someone would kill him, he knew he will be killed. That's when Bok A entered the scene crying claiming that his father is a good guy. She even showed that she has her siblings. She even let us in her nipa house."
"I couldn't believe she will do that. "
"How come she became your husband's mistress?"
"She was our servant. I don't know how my husband fall in love with her. I admit she's beautiful, but compare to my wealth, I am more better than her."
"Didn't you notice your husband's action?" Min Yun asked.
"Just recently, but I was too late. "
"Do you want to see her?" Min Yun offered.
She nodded.
We entered the interrogation room again. Her smirked faded when she saw the old lady.
"You!!! You killed my husband!!! I took care of you. I let you in my house but you ruined our family!!! You are such a whore!!!" the old lady punches Bok A and pulled her hair. I don't know why but Ji han and Min Yun didn't stop her.
"How could you do this to me especially to my husband?"
Bok A got back to her senses and shouted at the old lady. "Get off you bitch!"
The old lady stopped because she was shocked.
"Your husband fell in love with me. It's not my problem that you are too old for his likings."
"Why did you let him die?"
"Do you think it's what I want? " she mocked her.
"I will never forgive you. Go to hell." the old lady shouted. She was about to fall but Min Yun was attentive to catch her.
"Take it easy madam" he said.
The old lady started to cry. " I don't know why you did that to my husband. If I knew you only want money, I should give it to you."
"It's too late. You cannot raise a dead person."
Min Yun interrupted. "Madam, I think you need to go home. Let us handle the case. "
"I just need an answer." she said softly.
Min Yun nodded. " I'll report to you by tomorrow."
"Thank you."
After that the old lady went out.
"You let the old lady in." Bok A sounds angry.
"It is our interrogation room. It is us who decide who to let in."
"Now you know the answer. " she said sarcastically.
"I couldn't believe that you wasted your beauty just to be a mistress." I said.
"It's none of your business."
"How about the kids? You just rented them?" I mocked.
"Why should I tell you?"
"You hurted the innocent."
"I don't care. "
"We don't need you now. I will just let you die. " Min Yun announced and told us to go out the interrogation room.
