Chapter 1 - Chapter

The princess of a small nation where she was considered very gifted amongst her people. It was because of this that she was given a chance to study at the Mage's guild when she came of age however after getting there she realized something. She was just a big fish in a small pond and once she ventured out into the ocean. It was there she realized just how vast it was in open waters.

Apparently, while she was very gifted amongst her own people. That did not exactly extend to anywhere else once the large world was brought into play. Her people actually were not that talented with magic by nature it seems. They just had a lower level of magic than everyone else did. Thus the princess was actually in the lowest tier at the Mage's Guild which cause others to wonder if she was even truly a princess in the first place. Her control and versatility were top rate and amongst some of the highest in the guild. Able to learn and use almost anything after putting her mind to it. However, the catch was that was only at the lowest level where she could only use the most basic of magic.

Her mana pool was extremely small and though it restored itself extremely fast. Being only able to use the most basic levels of magic made it so that she was not viewed that highly. She was shocked and in awe of everything that went beyond the beginner level of magic as everything in her nation. The magic that was considered the highest there was considered barely mid tier at the Mage's Guild itself though.

After all magic was not something that her nation was known for being such a small one but they were able to fend off their neighbors that were gifted in magic apparently as the members of the royal family that surrounded her nation which was an island in the center of one of the world's largest lakes. One that was so huge it could be a mistake for an ocean at times though clearly was not cause it was always possible to see land though it was always at the horizon at the very edge of what was visible to the naked eye. The nation that was surrounding them on all sides was again very gifted with magic and sent their kids to the Mage's Guild as well. They liked picking on her for her poor mana pool though her people's resistance to magic was beyond normal. She guessed that why they were so bad at magic because they were so resistance to it.

This was a double edged sword for the princess though as she was considered gifted to her people thus her resistance to magic was not as strong. It was stronger than a normal person though as her body would naturally dispel several different magics on its own however this would take time to do so. Thus various tricks would be played on her at the time where they use some magic on her and then mess with her until right before it wore off.

The princess was minding her own business as she was brought to this conference between the Mage's Guild and the Sorccer' Union not because she was amongst their best and brightest. It was more so because she was the princess of her island nation that minus her had extremely high magical resistance. Just because she did not have herself did not mean she was not well versed like her people in that regard.

Though she met a sorcerer from the Union that made an interesting discovery that though her mana pool was low and she could only use what was considered beginner level magic at best. When it came to using defense spells and more importantly those that boosted resistance hers were beyond belief according to them. It was a shock to her as apparently despite being only the beginner level version of them it was able to block everything that was thrown at her.

The sorcerer learned that the princess's lack of her people's natural magical resistance could be achieved if she merely used defense magic on herself and though it was only worked with one other person. They could gain the the same level even if only for an instant because of how small her mana pool was. The sorcerer reveals that they had been sent to the conference to attempt meeting with her as their branch of the Union was interested in learning more about her people and the abnormal high magical resistance which they only learn about through her joining the Mage's Guild.

Just as things were looking up for the princess there was a sudden flash that happened and after everything became so silent that one was able to hear a pin being dropped as result. There was no sound nor movement from anything or anyone at the conference anymore as everything was deadly silent. The reasoning for such a thing was that everyone and thing there had been petrified in an instant as it was so fast that no one knew it was coming nor did they have time to even prepare for it happening at all. Throughout the conference everyone was in a petrified state that froze whatever they were doing at the moment it happened into them being a statue of that very moment.

The petrified princess was smiling happily as she finally found another person since she had left her island nation home that understood her. The smile that looked as if were radiating warmth itself would be cold to the touch thanks to her petrified form and she was holding both hands of the sorcerer in her own as they carried out the process of her boosting magical resistence with magic and her sharing it with them. It would have only been an instance normally but because they and everyone else at the conference were petrified at that instant it would now seemingly not ever come to an end. The fact that it even affected them both meant that the magic itself was beyond high tier level magic. The sorcerer used that on her as they learned something very interesting. Her people had no real ability to gauge magic on either end. They were not capable of using it themselves and thus were not aware of higher tiers of magic beyond basic and beginner but in contrast to that. Their magical resistance made them unaware that what they considered lower tier magic to people outside of their island home was considered mid tier at its lowest and nearly high tier at the best. It seemed this was not the considered those in her nation that had had magical resistance so high that it actually healed them though those people had no ability to use magic themselves at all.
