The princess's high level of resistance to magic saved them from that fate at least. Fully for the princess but only partially for the sorcerer though. For he pretty much lost the majority of his memories but retained his personality and sense of self.
He would only recall the princess as everyone else would be something that he was meeting for the first time in his mind.
Thanks to them holding hands so that she could share her natural resistance to magic with him. He benefit from that when the curse remover was used. It was as good as her own because it was natural for him and something he was just being allowed to have access to.
The princess' father having learned of what happened at the conference had those from the branch Union join him at his island nation to help research the two of them there.
This turned out to be a good thing as those that did not agree with the Union Guild or bow down to them were not just shut down but would have golem models of them appearing after they were relocated to their HQ.

Which cause her to deactivate as she did not have much magic to start with compared to others everywhere but her home island. Still was not able to detect magic nor her own power levels as she now ran off of her magic at this point.
Though she started back up again rather fast since it seemed to the ability to recover magic was increased to be even faster than it was before.
For her friend, he seemed to be able to go days without needing to recharge unless he overused his magic or did strong enough magic up front and/or overtime
When it came to the princess she was run out a power daily but seem to have enough power to keep going. However, it was only for about 8 hours a day though it did not have to be constant eight hours as the total time she was offline each day would add up to eight hours.
The island nation was safe from the Union Guild for now. They did not realize the potential that was there on the island. To keep that way the royal family of the island kept the knowledge of the princess and her sorcerer friend being a golem from the general public

Yet sometimes the ones that rather were a family member or friend that merely had important info on them about their research again since it was all brought with them.

Would both the princess and her now sorcerer aide would be used the magic of the sorcerer to look normal one that he excelled at making costumes and other magics for hiding in plain sight
