Not too far away from BlueWood County lies an old cemetery known as the 'Dune Afterlife Cemetery'.This cemetery had existed since the early 1600s and holds about 1,500 graves dated as early as the 1500s to 1800s, consisting of famous people and common people during the earlier colonial era to the Revolutionary War. According to some history tellers, which is not written in the National History, this cemetery is a place where the Witch's clans first settled. This land was quite vast and had hills that can overlook the ground land which is beautiful with natural flora and fauna. The river that flows through the hills and to the ground creates a beautiful waterfall with natural lakes.
But when the war started taking place, the Witch clans flee from their land as there were becoming a target and made the witch clans a big threat and they become a high crime to the local government during the era. To keep on surviving they seeking for help from the other supernatural clans— such as the cold blood clans and the werewolves. As the land become empty in 1667, the local government finally put the land on the market for the price of 500 dollars for 500 acres which includes the top hills area, the waterfall, lakes, and the land below the top hill that were enriched with good soils and minerals.
When the Nobel family from Europe came to America, they were looking for a land that was surrounded by nature as well as close to the towns and had fertile soils because they want to build fruit and vegetable farms. At this time, the land is already filled with several graves—which made the head of the family cancel their intention to open an orchard and vegetables.
Instead, they opened a vineyard not far from the cemetery area— Lord Robinson Rowe Jean Rousseau de Beauharis is the owner of the land and up until now, his descendent still live in their mansion that is located on the top of hills. Lord Robinson divided the ground land into two—parts .one is used as a cemetery named the 'Dune Afterlife Cemetery' and the other is for the vineyard which is also built with a wine processing mill and two— quarters houses for the farm's workers.
The paved road is also built starting from the main gates of the 'Dune Afterlife Cemetery' to the top hill known as the 'Lord Hills' where the lord Robinson mansion was built. The road to the Lord Hills is connected with the cemetery where you need to drive in along the cemetery road until you reach the top hill area where the mansion of Lord Robinson is located. Only the path to the vineyard is built from a different direction which it's crosses the path of the side of the lake and near the main road to the nearby town. A secret road leading directly to the vineyard also was built underground the mansion by using a special tunnel inside the hills until it reached the end side of the hill near the rocky side of the vineyard area.
In the early 1800s, the cemetery became the private property of the Beauharis family and only the Beauharis bloodline can be buried there. The two black granite stone pillars carved with the fallen angel statue on the left and right adorn the high pillars that enclose the entire area of the cemetery. the black iron fence which surrounds the cemetery is carved with two forms of flowers namely hyacinth and anemone.
These two special flowers have a deep meaning towards the person who has lost their loved ones —the anemones, according to Greek mythology symbolize death or the act of forsaken love, and the most significant meaning of it is anticipation. The hyacinth symbolizes sport or plays in the language of flowers —the hyacinth also represents constancy while the blue hyacinth expresses sincerity. But according to ancient Greek mythology, it is representing deep grief, mourning, and loss.
The big mansion of the Beauharis family is also built using black granite stones with white and black marble tiles. The exterior design of the Beauharis mansion is characterized by dark gothic during the medieval era which on every corner pillar and roof are engraved with gargoyles and flying buttresses. The main gates to the mansion are also painted in black and the family emblem can be seen decorated on the fence with a logo of a golden phoenix with white clouds and dark soil and the inscriptions read 'Arise From The Dust and Ash'. The emblem is the only thing that is not coloured black but red, white, and golden colour.
The mansion can be seen miles away when you drive along the countryside of BlueWood County and the interstate road to Oakwood County and the nearby town. The eerie feeling will strike you when you are brave enough to drive during the nighttime. The Lord Hill and the 'Dune Afterlife Cemetery' are both very spooky places to be. Whether it's in the daytime or dusk, you can't help yourself from getting goosebumps every time you go through it.
There standing facing a large window is a young man who looked a bit bothered by his feeling and mind. The dark music with some element of comedy music begins to play — using the old gramophones, the music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Don Giovanni, ossia II dissolute punito, K.527: Overture start to fill the sizable ballroom alive. It's been a week since the young teenage girl save his life and since then he can't stop thinking about her.
There is something about the girl that made her look so special yet a bit mysterious as she keeps on diverting her eyes away from others' views. He needs to see her back again and let her talk about the things that she has done to help him stay alive. He still remembers the first time he saw the girl's face in the dark when she hiding behind the wall, peeping— trying to see the person who was breaking inside her house that night. At that moment his eyes caught something a bit odd about the young girl. When she began to babble and helps him nurse his wound that night and the way she dealt with her sister— who was a she-wolf, trying to convince her about the state of her house also attract his attention.
He did not intend to provoke her that night but he was a bit frustrated when her mouth is expresses whatever she thought is thinking without even being concerned about his feeling in general. And the way she keeps on reminding him about the cold war between their both clans and if her sister ever caught him there in her place also made him displeased. It's like she is trying hard to avoid any kind of questions or talking with him at all.
From the time she told him not to make any noise or try to ask her nonsense questions, he already knew that she is someone interesting to know. He let a small sigh but still stood there pensively without even noticing that he made himself concerned for someone. He turned his back when the music he had played before turned off, suddenly. He greeted his father with simple nods and a smile.
"Why do you look melancholy? Is there something bothering you, son?" Lord Stefan asked his only son with his flat voice as usual. He notices something is off about his son since the day he come back home with his neatly wrapped wound a week ago.
"Nothing father. I was just thinking about the young teenage girl who saves my life last week" Xavier answers without even bothering to look at his father. His eyes were looking at their backyard garden. Lord Stefan invites Xavier to chat and sit with him inside their family study room. There is something that he wanted to discuss with his son in person and it's important.
Sitting in front of each other, Lord Stefan starts their conversation by asking about his son's condition after the wounded he had suffered a week ago finally recovered. They also exchange talks about their kin from here and there for a brief minutes before Lord Stefan begins with his serious talks. "So who is the girl?"
Xavier can only shake his head. Lord Stefan looked at his son carefully. If his son looks so bothered just because of one human teenage girl, that girl must have something that caught his son's attention.
"So what can you remember about her besides she had been helping you and took care of your wound?" Lord Stefan asked Xavier again "there must be something about her that made you look like that?" Xavier frowned but was not taken to his heart. Somehow his father is right. There must be something about her. But he just doesn't know what it is. It's just she keeps bugging his mind. Xavier tries to remember all conversations that he had with her.
"What made her look so special in your eyes?" Xavier stops his grins. He looks at his father whose looking at him with a meaningful smile.
"What that's looking for? You know I'm not interested in young girls, especially teenage girls! Not even to mention a human girl!" Xavier insisted before continuing "it's just I can't stop thinking about her even though she already told me that we will never see each other again after that night!" Xavier said with his dissatisfied voice and face.
"You know son, your eyes tell me the other side of your story" Xavier rolls his eyes and shocks his head with his father's accusations. He will never have a feeling toward that human teenage girl!
"I will let this go if you mean what is your saying. So tell me more about her" continued Lord Stefan again.
"Well apart from her is human; she is also a member of the Silver Crescent packs..." Lord Stefan's brows furrowed. By chance, he also had to meet a human teenage girl from the same pack year ago. The girl got a lot of praise from the Alpha King because of her intelligence and how she surpassed the others student at school and end up studying college far earlier than others of her age.
Lord Stefan still remembers her look and how so skinny she was. Her skin is pale white. She looks just like a porcelain mannequin that can break any time soon, with her long hair and big blue eyes— she is indeed an interesting young girl.
"Are you saying that young teenage girl who saved you a week ago is Eden?"
"Eden? Who is she?"
"Eden is the same teenage girl who has to save you, son!" exclaimed Lord Stefan in a joyous tone.
"How do you know so much about her?" Lord Stefan laughs. He just knew his son had something towards the young teenage girl that has saved him. He just plays hard to admit his feeling.
"Tell me more about her, father"
"What do you want to know?" without giving much thought, Xavier just speak what his mind wanted.
"Everything! And how she knows a lot about our world in specific. Oh, ya... before I forgot, where is she learning all about the magic stuff? I need to know... everything" Lord Stefan sighed blankly.
"She is not a threat to us, Xavier. She can kill you that night without even bothering herself to save your life!" Xavier doesn't agree with his father. Whoever she is, she is still a human, and human is weak and can be easily tempted by all sort kind of things.
"Still, we must not be so careless or trust her so easily. We must also be vigilant because the enemy is everywhere. She's from the werewolf clan. It's been clear to us that the werewolf clans want to get rid of us forever. I hope you don't forget about that, father" Xavier said in a tone of enthusiasm and full of purpose, to investigate whose the real girl named Eden was.
Lord Stefan agrees with his son's opinions. Their kin is labelled as the atrocious clans in the supernatural world when the bad ones come from the werewolf clans themselves. Xavier has indeed had a point there. But Eden is different. She had been doing a great job so far. Even the King of werewolves is also pleased with her dedication so far.
"Let me enlighten you about what I know about her so far, son. If you still doubt her... don't ask her directly because it is against DPO laws. She is not our prisoner. If she has ever been found guilty against the supernatural world, only DPO can punish her, always remember that Xavier" Xavier only can nod. But if he ever found out that she is doing something behind the DPO or his kin, he wouldn't hesitate to punish her with his hand and law.
Xavier listens very carefully to his father's story. He determines to search all about Eden secretly by hiring private investigators or he can do it himself if he doesn't want his father to know. According to what his father knew about Eden, she is a college student at CU and is actively researching the soul bearer or the breeders since she knows about the prophecy by accident. When she was eight years old, she translate one of the ancient scripts when the elders can't. So the elders give Eden another transcription, just to be sure that she is actually can read and not by some good luck.
When she did it again, she become the first human to get excess in all supernatural activities in which she can participate when DPO held meetings or attend some sacred ritual that only supernatural clans can go to. She is not representing the human clans instead she is representing werewolf clans in which she'll be sitting next to the King of werewolves when she joined the halls. Now, as a teenager and studying in college, she become more actively doing her secret job outside without telling others about it all. Only a few people know about her job with DPO. The person who knew about her odds job is both her parents and brother from her family side, while from her pack side, only the King of all Alpha and werewolves— her Alpha pack and Queen of all Luna— her Luna pack and her college headmaster, Dean Rasmussen.
She is also a very quiet person and only got a few friends in school. Due to her quiet lifestyle, she only attends class who had limited people in them or she dresses like some freaks student, where nobody care or glances at her or even had the heart to talk with her. Because she is a bright student and almost excels in every subject she takes, the CU acknowledges her and her presence at school becomes more transparent over time. No one knows she had an older sister who studied in the same school as her besides the dean, Dean Rasmussen. So that is why her sister did not know anything about the special treaty between the cold—blood kin and the werewolf clan besides the one that DPO offered.
So she is a really interesting person indeed. If she knew about the soul bearer, that means she knows the real purpose of the breeders. She also knows about the unmated heir from the three clans so well. It would be nice if he didn't mention his real name to her before because he can keep on pretending to be someone from his kin's side. He admits somehow deep inside his heartless heart, he is fallen for her.
When he decides to leave her bedroom that dawn, he had managed to admire her face at a such close distance when she was still in her deep slumbers. Her pinkish lips look so inevitable and her face looks so pure and innocent. She is just like a full moon goddess, sleeping beautifully without even knowing that she already made someone heartless like him feel his empty ribs is holds something inside that indeed is beating fast when he sees her calm expression sleeping in the same room with a beast like him.
He had the urge to touch her that time but feel hesitant to do so. Even so, his playful hand still touch her face and lay on her lips despite his mind rejecting his act. He can feel something pulling him to get close to her. But he can certainly be sure that she is not his mate. If she is, she also must feel the same but she's not. Instead, she keeps making him feel irritated.
