Ray snarls and scrapes the floor in frustration. Ask Jon if he wants to stay with you or help me watch them.
I know, and Jon doesn't seem to have had a harder choice throughout history. "Is it okay for you to stay with him?" He nodded towards Danica and I nodded.
Jon doesn't need anything else. He just swaps places, then he and Ray run into the woods.
Danica rubs her ink-colored fur on my back and I bend down to touch her, something I would never have thought of doing if it weren't for her fur inside.
It's easier like that. It's easier to accept him, to admit that I care about him despite my moral objections. I run my fingers through his thick coat and get a sense of rightness, home, and bag.
Danica should realize that too, because she's not backing down.
"I can't believe I let this happen."
Danica, low and deep, tells me it's not my fault.
"I shouldn't have gone like this. I don't know these wolves and forgot that not all packs are good for omegas."
