Chapter 22 - Chapter twenty two: Vampires

[Land of the night creatures]

Behind the walls of a huge castle where the sky had darken and full of clouds like it was going to pour heavily soon. A woman stood in front of a white crystal ball, her hands hovering over it as she whispered unheard words, the ball sitting on a long stool made a crack sound and thick black smokes began whirling in it.

The woman's violet eyes had turned slits and her hands changing to dark and scaly skin, the more she uttered the spell, the more she shred into the ugly skin and her face wrinkled up. The crystal ball cracked again this time leaving a long line. It was clear with another crack then the ball will be sure to break, noticing this, the woman's eyes brightened and her voice turned louder where the people watching her could hear the gibberish words she was saying.

Slowly, the fumes started to clear and the witch sliced her palm with her long nails to drop her blood on the ball which spread around it, making it impossible to view the inside of the ball. The blood dried up and turned black like it got burnt and dropped as ashes which dirtied the castle floors

The woman stopped her chanting and her cracked lips spread into a smile looking inside the crystal ball that had become clear of the smoke, her skin had started to change back to the show the smooth and fair young lady she was but her eyes still kept the snake eyes making one know the kind she truly was "Did you find her?" A man asked and she shifted her gaze to him bowing low to show her respect. "Yes I did, my king" she said and the men in the court beamed.

"I knew Maure could find her" said a man with a red hair, "Thank you Sir Waylen" the witch Maure bowed, turning back to the crystal ball, she watched the brown haired girl sleeping on the bed. Her expression was unguarded and rather peaceful, the face of one who knew nothing of what was coming their way.

Her mother had really hidden her well before leaving, searching for her pulled more than just the witch's abilities but also sucked in her soul energy which she would take weeks to recover, it's only made her to pause and wonder just how powerful Neirosa was and how more the daughter will turn to be.

"Do you think we should send someone to let the prince know that she is still alive?" Maure heard someone ask the king breaking her line of thoughts and she looked away from the ball.

The king still had a grin on his lips as he appeared to be thinking about something before he looked at the person who had spoken, his dark red eyes sinking into the man's soul "If he didn't know she was still alive he would have come back home" he said "Are you thinking he won't be able to get her?" he threw a question at the man who only smiled and dared not to say his mind. But someone else appeared to know what the man was thinking about and he said to the king "My king, most of us here never met him but we know how his elder brother is.. useless, we are afraid he is like him"

One would think the person who just badmouthed the king's eldest son was going to have his head axed off his body but the king was not bothered. The grin on his lips only seemed to widen "You have nothing to worry about Crook" "Rex took after me, did you forgot he was the one to capture Neirosa? he killed her just the way I would have done, like father like son" he said proudly running his tongue on his much larger fangs.

"We wouldn't be able to send someone to him even if we have to" Maure chipped in and the men turned to her "Why?" Crook asked "We may seem to be in the same world but it's two different worlds, our time differ very far from each other, I haven't been to the human land but from the crystal ball, it looks like a place that ours will be in the not so near future and that's if we want it to be like that" she explained and they all nodded, that explained why the vampires leaving to go to the human world do come back with a strange way of dressing "We wait then" the King said and everyone could only agree with him.

"Neirosa's daughter's power is yet to awaken but It will sooner, capturing her will be easy for Rex" the man named crook smiled at the king's words "It seems Rex would end up being the king after you" he said for the king to laugh. "Of course, I have no plan to give the kingdom to the worthless to rule but those plans are in the farthest future. I am not dying anytime sooner". The few people present in the courtroom nodded and bowed their heads "Long live King Malphus" they wished.

King Malphus raised his hand up for his noble men to rise "Do you know why the witches are attacking our men?" the question was directed to Maure "They are the ones who believe they is no reason for searching for more power, they are being taken care of" she bowed

King Malphus nodded and turned his gaze to the window looking at the vast land outside. They sky had turned more dark making the place look eerie to those coming there for the first time. Once Rex bring the sorceress's daughter then things will get more easier. Apart from the power he wanted which was within her, he wanted her blood for that was the only cure to his eternal curse. To think that the only way he could be cured was taking a drink from the last creatures he despised the most, he hissed in distaste.

With everyone waiting for the last sorceress to be brought by the second prince, they knew not the fate that awaits them.

[The land of the humans]

Alya laid peacefully on the bed, her brown hair sprawled all over the pillow and her hands wrapped in a loose fist on her chest as she slept oblivious about everything other things nextyto hdr. The door of her room was knocked on and she slowly opened her eyes to see Rex walk in, her sight was blurry and she had to blink her eyes continuously as he made his way to open the curtains covering the window. The rays of lightly passed through the glass windows and fell into the room and she basked herself in the warmth.

"Good morning" Rex walked up to her and greeted placing a peck on her forehead. "You seem to be very tired to sleep so long" He said while helping her sit up "I did?" Alya asked looking at Rex, "Mmm" he responded and she turned to the clock placed on her reading desk, 12:34 PM.

"I guess you were having a nice sleep but I had to come wake you up, I missed you" Rex said for her to smile, 'Weren't they together yesterday?" she asked to herself and could only shake her head mentally.

Having no reply for his words, she asked instead "Why haven't you left for work?" "I have no plans of going out today and neither will you be" he replied for her to look at him "What about the contract with Clark? He hasn't given his signature" She reminded him and he hummed.

"Karla and Max will take care of it" he said "He is going to sign without your presence?" she asked "He will" "Now enough of other people's businesses, let's talk about ourselves" Rex interjected when he saw her opened her mouth to speak again.

"It's been long we spent some time together, let's take some days off" he proposed, when he saw her trying to speak again, he added "It's an order not a permission" to have her nod her head. He smiled and his hands went up to her face.

"You have very beautiful eyes, have I told you so?" Rex asked picking the strands of baby hairs falling on her face "You have done so many times" A day hardly ever passed without Rex telling how much he admire her blue eyes. He smiled more and got up the bed "I'll be in the balcony while you get ready" he said and walked out of her room.

Getting up from the bed, Alya slowly stretched her body opening her mouth for a small yawn to escape. She ran her hand in her disheveled long hair in frustration as it kept falling on her face. How many times had she wanted to shorten the hair but Rex always disapprove of it. She huffed and made her way into the bathroom
