Paleah's POV
My fingers were trembling on my lap, even after I tried to control them. My breath was unsteady, and my head was fuzzy.
He was here. He was sitting before me.
I hadn't looked him in the eyes since the last time we were together.
I looked up from my plate to steal a quick glance and found him obviously staring at me.
I averted my gaze and focused on my food.
I... Had no time to think about him. I shouldn't think about him.
I had to say, it was a weird experience.
I was sitting before a man that had licked every inch of my skin and called me his, eating dinner like I didn't know who he was.
I smiled sadly.
I looked up again to find him focused on someone else, his sister who was speaking.
I couldn't hear anything they were saying.
I stared at his face.... His perfect face.
A face I had the chance to touch and caress all the time.
I had to face the reality, we weren't together anymore.
I thought I was fine..... That I was over him completely, but I guess pushing away the thought of him does not count as getting over him.
Our eyes locked again....
This time, I couldn't breathe. I couldn't move freely with his eyes glued to me like that.
I needed to go...
Without thinking about how I appeared, I got up from my seat and excused myself.
.......
"Perhaps we can all stretch for some time before we come back for dessert?" Hansel suggested.
"Oh great idea! Would you like a tour?" Jane said to Liam and Hana.
They excitedly nodded and the parents were gone.
Charlie walked outside with a pack of cigarettes and Amaya followed.
Reiko stuck to Zeke like sweat.
She began asking questions, obviously trying to make conversation.
Zeke wasn't rude, so he answered her questions and talked with her.
.....
Hansel walked in the direction Paleah had left in.
Paleah stepped out of the bathroom of a guest room sighing and breathing heavily.
Her head felt light and she was tired.
Her eyes caught a slight movement by the door.
She lifted her head to check and saw HIM.
He stood before her with the door closed.
They stood there saying nothing to one another.
Their eyes spoke a million words, expressing a million emotions all at once.
"W-what are you doing here? It's rude to walk in without warning when someone was in here for the bathroom. You can't just do whatever you like whenever you like. THIS ISN'T YOUR HO-"
Her mouth was sealed in a second with his.
She froze while his lips covered hers.
He pulled away and she began speaking again, "You can't just walk into the room whenever you like or just because you feel like it. THE PERSON IN THE ROOM HAS FEELINGS AND WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD RESPECT THEM AS WELL!!!"
Any random person listening in would be confused as hell, but Hansel knew what she meant.
He kissed her once more, but this time, his tongue invaded her mouth and stroked hers gently.
Tears escaped from her eyelids and rolled to her cheeks.
She balled her fists and began hitting his chest repeatedly.
She kept at it, crying and hitting him.
He stood there, unshaking and unwilling to leave her alone.
After some fine, Her hands became weakened and she stopped hitting him.
She was exhausted.
She was tired of fighting him, at least for now.
She parted her lips more, giving him more access to her mouth.
His tongue moved hungrily this time in her mouth...and she kissed him back.
She wrapped her hands around his neck and deepened the kiss.
Her whole body was on fire, every fibre she was made of was.
She hadn't felt this much excitement since he left.
Her whole body itched to be touched specifically by him.
She was lost and didn't want to be found.
She didn't want to think of the consequences of what she was allowing at that moment.
She just wanted to feel like nothing went wrong at any point in time.
She wanted to enjoy him in that moment, and she was, very much.
They were both out of breath and gasping for air when they pulled away from each other.
There was a silence, but it wasn't stifling like the one at the dining table.
Paleah smoothed down her hair and unconsciously but her lip while she did so.
Without so much as a word, she walked out of the room when she felt ready, leaving Hansel behind.
He felt a painful tug on his heartstrings.
He knew he was being too ambitious but he had hoped she would forgive him.
He knew one passionate kiss wouldn't cut it but he was hopeful.
But she left.... He knew he had to win her love back.
He had hurt her enough, and he couldn't bear to see her look so down and defeated.
Hansel always knew Paleah to be a feisty, sassy and playful one.
While they were together, she was even livelier and happier.
He made a stupid decision and broke her heart, and they went their separate ways.
Seeing her after years felt surreal to him.
He couldn't say anything to her initially, but he could tell that if he didn't do anything, she would walk past him like she didn't know him completely and they would keep living like that.
He didn't want to.
He didn't want to live without her anymore.
Paleah was the best thing that had ever happened to him and he blew it.
He prayed for and believed she would be willing to give him a second chance.
He needed her badly.
