I just kept quiet, ignoring all of her words that kept telling me to let go of my hand from her and tightened my grip on his wrist, dragging her hand out of the coffee shop, ignoring everyone's gazes that were definitely looking at us.

Once we were in my car, I turned around to see Hannah, who immediately gave me a piercing look, telling me indirectly to let go of my hand.

And being a good boyfriend, of course, I responded by gently patting the top of his head and smiling, the best way I could think of to plant a seed of confusion over what I was doing.
