For a few moments, there was only silence between the two of us as soon as Jess finished saying his words, until I, who was worried at first, turned into relief when I found Richard, who still had not given any response to Jess's request.
"Looks like Richard's been busy right now," I said, turning to look at Jess, who seemed to be still waiting for Richard's response before I breathed a sigh of relief. "Since it seems unlikely that I will be able to meet him, I will leave here quietly without a sound."
"So where do you plan to go after this?"
"To my department room, of course. Where do you think I'm going?"
"If I had known where you were going I would not have asked in the first place."
