Chapter 155 - Chapter 155

"Bwahahahaha!"

I release a sigh as I see Zelretch laughing at me, or rather, the dragon that resides in my soul. He is laughing at Akatosh.

"His champion got stolen right under his nose. Bwahahaha!"

Zelretch starts to laugh when I tell him that Akatosh is angry that Kyne decided to announce that I am her champion, even though he already forbade her from doing this. Not only that, but she also does that in public, and it causes no-ending problems for me.

While most of the population of Skyrim worships the Nine Divines, a lot of them still worship the Old Gods of the Nordic Pantheon. When they see the symbol of Kyne above me, they know that I am her champion, and now a lot of hunters are asking for my blessing when we reach Falkreath.

Speaking of Falkreath, I look at Commander Maro, who returns from speaking with the Jarl of Falkreath. By the look of his face, I know the situation is worse than he thought it was. I let him take a seat and said.

"How is it?"

"It is worse than what we thought. That bastard is using the Dark Brotherhood to kill many of the people who sent letters informing the emperor about his dealing with the Thalmor."

"Ah, he is their supporter, huh?"

"Aye. The one that informs them about the internal situation in Skyrim."

I nod my head and say.

"Then what are you going to do?"

"I already arrested him, and my men are guarding him. However, now I need to think of someone who needs to rule Falkreath. The right choice will be his uncle, Dengeir. However, it will be a bad choice because he is a supporter of Stormcloak, the Rebel. If we give that position to another family, there will be a rebellion, and other people will join the rebellion against the empire."

"Keep your enemy closer, my friend."

Before I can say something, Zelretch looks at Maro with a feral smile on his face.

"I beg your pardon?"

"Rather than getting into a civil war in this place, you can place that man on the throne and keep an eye on him. You can ensure he swears in front of his gods that he will not join the Stormcloak. Keep an eye on him, and if he decides to betray his oath, you have an excuse to put a new ruler on the throne."

Maro looks at the old man for a second before nodding his head.

"Aye. You are right. I think I will do just that. That is a great idea. Thank you."

"Can you do that?" I ask Maro with a curious expression, "Do you have the power to change Jarl just like that?"

Maro smiles at me and says,

"Don't worry, sir Ryan. My position lets me change a Jarl position when I have strong reasoning. Working with a guild of assassins is enough for me to change a Jarl of a hold."

"Then it is good."

I drink all the mead and say.

"That means you no longer need my presence, right?"

"For the moment, yes. However, I hope you are willing to tell me where you will go because the Emperor wants to reward you for your service. He and the others have already taken a ship here."

"When will he arrive? And where?"

"In a week or maybe ten days, depending on the wind. He and the rest will arrive at Solitude."

"Solitude, got it. I will visit that place after I am done exploring Skyrim. I have delayed my travel long enough, and I think it is time for me to visit the other hold."

Commander Maro nods his head and says.

"Do you need something before you depart?"

"Nah. I have my friend over here."

Zelretch grins and snaps his hand. A second later, a portal appears next to us.

"We will use the portal to reach Winterhold."

"I see. May the Gods watch your journey."

Zelretch and I walk through the portal and feel my entire body shiver a little at the cold weather of the Northernmost City in Skyrim. However, after the cold washed over my body, the feeling of ancient magic hit me like a train.

"The magic here is so thick and old."

"Right?! If not for this magic, I would have left this place long ago."

"I think I know the source of this mana."

"Really? Tell me."

I look at Zelretch's grinning expression and say.

"No. I will only tell you if you promise not to take it to your world or even move it from its original place. It is an artifact from one of the divine beings of this world, after all."

"Really? What is the name of the artifact?"

"Eye of Magnus. I think you can find some books about it in the library."

"I will do that."

We arrive at the college gate and see the elven woman standing there. She is the same person as the one in the game. I forgot about her name.

The woman looks at Zelretch and gives him a respectful nod while looking at me in expectation.

"Who is this, Elder Zel?"

Zel? Is that the name he gave her?

"This is my friend that helped me in the past. Can you let him pass?"

"I am sorry, elder. All people who want to enter college need to prove that he is a magician."

I nod and create a fireball on my palm. She looks at the fire and nods her head.

"Ah, a practitioner of destruction magic, I see. Please enter. Make sure not to cause any trouble. Do you need someone to show you around?"

"I will. No. He will show me around, and I am here just to get some information."

"Very well."

Zelretch and I entered college. He takes me to his room, where I feel a barrier around the room.

"What kind of barrier is that?"

"A privacy package set."

"How did you make that one with all the barriers around the college?"

"When you are my age, you will know two or three tricks to bypass magic."

"Right"

With us secure, without anyone seeing what we are doing, I take out a massive dragon's bones and scale from my requip magic. Not only that, I take out the troll's heart, void, fire, and frost salts to the ground.

"Four elemental ingredients, a catalyst that has a connection to the earth, and lastly, a rib bone of a Phantasmal Species. The last one is a place where ambient magic is the strongest, which is this place."

I look at Zelretch and say.

"Let's make a Class Card."
