Chapter 46 - 46 Did You Guys Miss Us?

Milas didn't have to wait for long before he heard a knock and a pair of uniform was handed to him by the vampire who sat at a desk in the dorm's first floor. Milas learnt that he was actually the first years dorm master. He was supposed to ensure that the students followed the rules in the dorms but he never really cared.

The dorms were split into two with girls living in another half of the building. There was a rule against entering the side of a different gender but no one obeyed it. The dorm master had apparently told everyone that his only rule was that fighting wasn't allowed unless he was there to supervise. Milas had a slight grudge due to him interrupting the fight with Aileen just when he got the upper hand.

Milas quickly got dressed and spent his time sitting on the floor crosslegged. He was trying to communicate with Van by concentrating on his blood crystal. Milas learned that his body had lost the previously smooth spread of energy. He tried ignoring the tumultuous spread of energy and focus solely on the blood crystal but the results were unpleasant to say the least.

The rampaging energy had suddenly flooded his crystal and threatened to shatter it. Milas didn't know what to do so he tried to release the blood mist but he couldn't focus. The pain of his crystal being stuffed with energy was by far the worst thing he had ever felt. He desperately tried to figure out a way of using the energy. He was about to give up and accept the fact that he had probably doomed himself when he remembered something.

Milas hurriedly channeled the energy to his right hand. The blood energy flowed to his hand like a flooded river. His veins were bulging and it felt like his skin was about to tear. A thin thread of mist flowed from the tip of his middle finger. It was soon accompanied by four more threads from the other fingers. The mist threads met and weaved into a thicker thread.

Milas didn't really know what he was doing but the blood aura seemed to naturally weave itself even without him trying. The intricate weave was destroyed by a pulse of energy when Milas' crystal decided to release the extra energy now that an opening was found. The result of the energy surge was a spike that was as thick as a thumb and as long as Milas' forearm.

The spike solidified instantly and started to vibrate. The vibrations became too much for Milas to withstand. He felt the spike trying to shoot forward so he decided to aim it at a safe place. The one place he knew that he wouldn't hit anyone was the empty courtyard outside his window. Milas barely got the window open with his left hand when the spike broke free of the threads connecting it to Milas.

The spike was fast, silent and deadly. Milas had lost sight of it when it left his hand and only noticed it when he heard a barely audible thump. His right arm went limp but he didn't pay it much attention. His vampiric eyes focused on the place of the spike's impact, more specifically the small hole it left behind. Milas couldn't ignore the potential that the spike possessed as an offensive skill.

Meanwhile, some distance away, the dorm master stood with a slight smile. "I can't believe that he could figure out how to avoid a crystal collapse on his own. Deogratius outdid himself when chosing this one. Too bad he was already noticed by them. I hate that they involve children in their fights. Sigh! I hope this one lasts longer than the last one. Deogratius must be getting desperate to bring him here unprepared. Well, I can't do anything about it so I'll just have to enjoy the show."

Milas had finally analyzed the pros and cons of his discovery and the conclusion he came to was that the attack was useless. It was powerful but the requirements and time taken to use it meant that his opponent could kill him a few times before it even launched. He stood at the window and watched as the other students left the classroom block at the end of their lessons.

It didn't take long for someone to knock at the door before inviting themselves in faster than he could answer. Milas caught Step's scent as she approached him. Step stood beside him and stared out the window without saying a word. It was weird for Milas to see Step acting so reserved around him. He wasn't going to ruin the moment so he just stayed still and kept planning.

There was another knock and Milas didn't bother to answer since the person would come in anyway. There was a short pause before the door slowly opened. Milas was waiting for Asher to ruin the blissful silence but he didn't hear a sound. Other than the sound of his two pairs of footsteps as he walked towards the window, everything was fine. Wait, two pairs of footsteps?

Milas was too slow to realize that something was off. He was pushed towards the open window and the only thing that kept him from falling was the hand that loosely held his shirt. Milas finally saw that it was Aileen holding him and the hate filled gaze she had earlier looked even worse up close.

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't drop from this window for what you did." Aileen was pissed beyond reason and it was taking everything she had to not let Milas fall.

"If you do, Step will stab you with the dagger she's holding." Milas said confidently which made Aileen turn around. She saw that Step had nothing in her hands and looked confused by the situation. Knowing that she had been fooled, Aileen let go of Milas since she knew that the fall wouldn't kill him. She was even more shocked to realize that Milas had wrapped his legs around her waist and used his body weight to bring her with him.

Milas' plan was simple when he saw that he was hanging halfway out the window. He knew that the height wouldn't kill him but it would break a few bones. He was going to take Aileen with him and rely on his experience from training with Deogratius to reduce the damage he received. He would then use the fact that she was more injured to get some payback.

The plan was flawless but he forgot to account for something important, his limp right arm. He tried to use his other three limbs to make up for the incapacitated one but failed miserably. His bones shattered as he hit the ground with a sickening crunch. The sound of his fall was blanketed by the thud from Aileen smashing against the ground.

The sound caught the attention of many people who curiously looked out the windows to see two mangled teenagers staring daggers at each other. The dorm master stood above them while shaking his head. He carelessly lifted the two teenagers who grunted in pain. Step and Asher watched from their vantage point at the window as the dorm master took the injured teenagers to a building with the words Disciplinary Board written above the door.

Milas had only been here once but he hated this place with a passion. They were roughly thrown on the ground inside an empty room. The door was closed and Milas desperately focused on speeding up his healing. The door soon opened and his nightmare became a reality. The twins from hell, Claus and Veruca, stood side by side at the door.

"Did you guys miss us?" Veruca's voice sounded joyful and excited but it sounded like the growl of a beast to Milas. "I know I missed you Milas. I honestly had sleepless nights just thinking about you."

"I don't really have time for this but you two seem hellbent on fighting each other. I will be fighting the girl since you can't get your eyes off the boy, Veruca." Claus sounded bored but the fact that he fed Aileen some blood while he started using blood hardening on his hands showed that he wanted to finish it quickly. Milas was also being fed by Veruca but he was doing so slowly just to come up with something.

The flask became empty before he could figure something out and they were now squaring against the twins. Milas grabbed Aileen's hand and threw her at the twins. Claus instinctively caught her and Milas was already upon him with a fist. Another punch came from Milas' side but Aileen parried it. The punch knocked Claus' head back and Aileen elbowed his gut.

Veruca was about to pulverize Aileen but Milas pulled her aside just enough to avoid the hit. Veruca had put too much force behind her punch and the time it took her to recover led to Claus being kicked by Milas. The twins used the opportunity to back away. Milas didn't know how they managed to work together but he was happy. That was until he saw both Claus and Veruca smiling at them.

"Finally, you can actually make this slightly more fun." Claus said with a much deeper voice that sent shivers down the spines of the two first years.
