Chapter 35 - 35 The Blood Shifter Class

The line was moving swiftly as there were many students with the warrior class. Milas was wondering what class he would get. "I want something special. The warrior class sounds way too common. What if I don't even get a class since I wasn't born a vampire? But what if I'm like the originals since I was turned? That would be awesome but troublesome as I don't want all the attention. Ugh! This is stressful. I'll just have to deal with whatever happens when it happens cause there's no use thinking about it now."

Milas was lost in his thoughts when he heard a few gasps. He looked at the tubes and saw something very strange. The multicolored chaos energy was high but so was the pitch black aver. The weirdest thing was the ash grey shadow element. It had remained steady for everyone else but it was low for the teenager. It was barely able to reach the quarter mark. The student in question was number twenty three who looked stunned by the result.

"Congratulations kid, your class is the rare striker class. You have great potential to get stronger but also more responsibilities to the settlement in the future. Next!" Priscilla immediately motioned for the next person. There had been ten warriors, seven charmer classes and four hunter classes. Milas had missed the hunter classes while he was stressing over what class he would get.

He could only assume that the class had more aver than the other two energies. This was because the warrior class had more chaos energy while the charmer class had a higher concentration of the shadow element. Milas' assumption was proven right when the next student with high concentration of aver was declared to be a hunter.

There were two students who got the warrior class before it was Aileen's turn. She stepped forward and placed her hand on the crystal tablet and the tubes started filling with energy. Her energy looked solid unlike the constantly swirling energy that everyone else had. The results were aver and shadow being highly concentrated while chaos energy was only halfway up the tube.

"I must be really lucky, first a striker class and now a dual class. Young lady, you have a combination of the charmer class and the hunter class. This is great news but you need to remember that there will be high expectations for your future and more weight on your shoulders. You have to persevere and show everyone that this kind of power isn't wasted on you."

Aileen nodded and joined the ones who had already been tested. Milas was feeling both jealous and anxious. He now wanted to get a dual class because getting anything else meant that he could never hold a candle to Aileen again. Plus, she would never let it go and would keep rubbing it in his face. He had to get something better than her if he wished to live in peace in the academy.

These were the thoughts that filled Milas' mind as he made his way to the crystal tablet. He slowly placed his hand on the cool and smooth surface and felt something leave his body from his palm. The feeling was different from the one he got when using a mana crystal. There was no pain or resistance when touching this crystal.

Milas looked at Priscilla's face and saw a frown on her face. She looked pissed off. It was the same look Deogratius had whenever he was late for training. Milas was getting scared but he still looked at the tubes. The results were strange to say the least. The energies were like a turbulent sea as they rose and fell like waves. There were times when it would stay still for a second before going back to being turbulent.

"Listen kid, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that you have the blood shifter class, a class so rare that it's only second to the imperial class of the originals." Priscilla paused after saying this and looked at the teenager standing in front of her.

"And what's the bad news?" Milas asked as he resisted smiling. He was happy that he got a rarer class than Aileen but the bad news would dictate how useful the class is.

"The bad news is that the only thing we know about your class is that it exists. This is because the last person to have your class is from twenty thousand years ago and he didn't even live for that long. This means that you'll have to figure things out on your own since no one can help you." Priscilla said to Milas who was now more disappointed by his class than he had ever been disappointed by anything else.

The pain worsened when he heard Priscilla whisper to herself as he walked away. "What did this kid do in his past life to receive such a terrible class."

The tests continued while Milas was stuck in a daze. He couldn't believe how ironic the situation was. He was wishing to get a class rarer than Aileen but now he got one so rare it became a problem. He actually wanted to laugh at his predicament but he didn't want to look like his mind snapped. The tests finally ended and everyone paid attention to Miss Priscilla.

"Normally, this is the part where I explain to you the traits of the different classes but I can't. I have an emergency I need to handle so I'll let you go to the library and do some personal research and I'll answer any questions you have tomorrow. Just make sure to get back here before the combat classes begin. Your teacher is kind of crazy and you can tell him I said that." Priscilla then touched the blue crystal and quickly tapped the screen that appeared.

Milas felt his bracelet vibrate and the blue crystal was pulsing with light. The screen appeared when he touched it and it had one line written on it.

"Student Milas, you have been ordered to head to the library by instructor Priscilla." Milas noticed that everyone had gotten the same message as he did. Milas tapped on the arrow option at the top left side of the screen and the small green arrow appeared above the bracelet. The students were already leaving the hall and Miss Priscilla was long gone. Milas was close to the door when Aileen wrapped her arms on his left hand.

"Hope that your class doesn't make you so rare that I can't accompany you." Milas knew that this girl was just looking for trouble but her grip him would be too troublesome to remove. He decided that the only way to get her off his back was to win in a verbal battle.

"It's fine but I have a question. Does your dual class also give you dual genders because you have a manly grip." Aileen tightened her grip like she was going to crush his hand. Milas was about to yelp but held it in.

"I won't answer that because I know that you're trying to annoy me till I leave you alone. Well I've got some news that's worse than your class, it won't work." Aileen wouldn't let go of this heaven sent chance to get on Milas nerves.

"The fact that you don't want to answer proves how right I am." Milas was trying to push her buttons but Aileen just smiled and tightened her grip further. Milas knew that it was useless so he enjoyed the warmth and softness of her breasts as they squeezed against his arm.

They left the classroom block and walked towards the four storey library. The building looked plain with the words library written above the large door. The door was partially open but it's sheer size meant that it was enough to allow two people to enter at a time. This was bad for Milas as Aileen was still clinging to his arm. Her grip strength was restricting his blood flow and his arm was becoming numb.

She finally let him go when she headed to the librarian's desk like most of the students. Milas took the opportunity to disappear among the tall, book filled shelves. He was going in a completely random direction and doing his best to distance himself away from her. He finally stopped and sat on the floor while leaning on a shelf. He was about to breathe a sigh of relief when he heard someone sobbing beside him. He wanted to quietly leave but the girl noticed him.

The girl looked cute to the point that she looked younger than most of the students in the academy. Well her face did but she had the body assets that most teenage girls could only dream of. Her eyes were large and tear stained making even the heartless Milas feel sympathetic for her. Since he had nothing better to do other than hide Milas decided to entertain her.

"Hey there, can you tell me what's wrong? Why are you all alone and crying?" This was the sentence that brought Milas a new set of problems.
