Chapter 13 - William walker

"Damn it, how the fuck do I deal with that woman? If I don't do anything soon, they are going to kill me. I was lucky that he didn't behead my head with that sword today, that bastard was definitely ready to behead me!" Nolan shouted as he punched the wall with pent-up frustration. He didn't stop after that and started smashing the furniture inside the room until his body was drenched in sweat and his face turned completely dark.

"Master, I don't think it's a good idea to touch that woman—" An old man began to mumble but stopped midway when he saw the furious gaze that was directed at him. Seeing that gaze falling on him, the old man felt a chill run down his spine. Nolan was looking at him with killing intent bubbling in his eyes.

Apart from that old man, more than eight people could be seen standing in a row. All of them wore dark clothes. Their gazes were directed at Nolan at the same time, who looked quite depressed about something.

"Bastard, what did you just say? You want me to get killed over that woman? I can't wait anymore. I have only forty-eight hours left, if I can't take that place under my control, they are going to kill me! I sacrificed too many things and shed too much blood to reach here. I can't just die over some crazy woman." He exclaimed as he looked at the old man who was trembling with fear.

"Master, what do you suggest?" The old man asked as he looked at Nolan who was burning with rage.

"Kill her, along with her child! No matter what, I need that place under me," Nolan gritted his teeth as he said those words. Upon hearing those words, the old man, along with the rest of the men standing there, were taken aback.

"Master, the whole city knows that you are after that place and that you are threatening that woman. If anything happened to her at this point, people are definitely going to make a ruckus. Until now, everyone ignored us only because of your father and even Lady Melenia didn't say anything because of him. But if anything happened to that woman, she is definitely going to take strict action against you. Even your father would not be able to stop her this time." The old man explained in a shaky voice.

"I don't care about my father and I don't care about the peasants who'll create a scene. They are only alive because of our family. Right now, my life is my utmost priority and I am willing to take any risk to save myself. This is all her fault. If she had accepted my offer and was willing to serve me, not only I would I have looked after her but she also wouldn't have to lose her life over that stupid place. Now that I have run out of options, I don't mind killing her for the sake of my survival," Nolan smirked as he looked at the old man.

Seeing the madness in Nolan's eyes, the old man nervously gulped. He knew how evil this man was. He didn't care about anything other than his own interests.

"My lord, what about Lady Melenia and her people? If we make a move, they will definitely notice," The old man asked again as he looked at Nolan.

"She is on the hunt with her squad. There is a dungeon break near the Solana city border. She is not going to come back soon," Nolan answered him with a menacing expression on his face.

Upon hearing those words, the old man silently heaved a sigh of relief. Then, after nodding his head, he left the room while other figures present in the room followed him from behind.

Meanwhile, two figures appeared on top of a tower in the middle of Solana city. The whole city was visible from that tower. Veronica's face turned dark as she found herself standing on the tower along with William. A moment ago, both of them were standing and talking inside her hotel but suddenly she found herself standing on top of one of the tallest buildings in the city. The tower was at least a few kilometers away from her hotel.

Veronica's face turned dark as she couldn't believe her own eyes. In the end, she could only look at William with a baffled gaze, hoping for him to explain something.

"Are you surprised?" William asked in a low voice as he took a deep breath and looked at the whole city in front of his eyes.

His casual question led Veronica to come to her senses.

"How did you do that? I clearly remember that we were inside the room just now and suddenly I am here with you. Tell me, please, who the hell are you?" She mumbled as she looked at William's calm gaze which was directed at the city.

"I already told you when we were eating food, didn't I?" William tilted his head as he looked at Veronica with a gentle gaze.

"…a Vampire…" Veronica mumbled to herself, seemingly in a reverie.

William chuckled when he heard those words coming out of her mouth.

"It's funny how you say 'vampire'. Well, I am not any ordinary vampire. I am the pureblood, the firstborn Noble vampire, William Walker. It's a pleasure to meet you, Lady Veronica." William whispered as he introduced himself officially.

A weird smile appeared on Veronica's face as she heard William's words. She couldn't believe what she just heard.

"How could this be possible? I saw you eating normal food with garlic in it, and that too with a silver spoon. Is this some kind of a joke, tell me if it's a dream?" Veronica muttered.

"Well, those things only affect mixed-blood vampires. You can also call them half-bloods. I have Noble blood in my veins, so I am not affected by those things. I can even walk in the sunlight during the day. I am very different from those ordinary vampires," William responded to Veronica.

William's explanation made Veronica turn silent. She needed some time to process it. After all, she was too shocked to know about his origin. One after another, various kinds of thoughts started surfacing in her mind.
