Chapter 6 - William’s charm

Veronica was in a daze after hearing the last words William said before leaving the kitchen.

"Did he just call me gorgeous indirectly? No, he just said it to my face." Veronica muttered as her face turned red when she thought of William. This is the first time she saw someone like William. He had a completely different aura around him. Despite her age, she was being dominated by William!

"How embarrassing! What am I even thinking… but I have never seen someone like him, he sounds so mature, and seeing his appearance, he must be a young master of a big clan. I wonder what he is doing inside this city." Veronica mumbled and took a deep sigh as she started cooking again.

A satisfied look appeared on her face when she thought about what William said, about her food smelling good and those generous words about her.

At the same time, the moment William left the kitchen, he encountered a cute-looking little girl standing a few meters away from him. Seeing William's handsome face, her cute-looking face turned slightly red. She was the daughter of Veronica, the girl she mentioned earlier.

"So, you are kiddo huh, your mother mentioned you earlier." William approached that little girl and bent on his knees. Upon hearing William's words, she became embarrassed because that's what Veronica, her mother, called her.

"I am not kiddo, my name is Roselyn." She responded to William in a cute yet soothing voice. Upon hearing those words from that little girl's mouth, a smile appeared on William's face.

"You are very beautiful, Roselyn, just like your mother," William responded to her and ruffled her hair before leaving her sight. William's words made her face turn red like a tomato as she cutely combed her hair with her fingers. A moment later, she tilted her head and looked at William one last time before running into the kitchen where her mother was preparing food.

Seeing her like that, a smile appeared on William's face, "Kids are indeed interesting and wonderful at times." He mumbled to himself and took a seat beside the window of the main hall. It was already late and a dazzling moon was shimmering in the sky. As he gazed outside the window, William's eyes glowed in the moonlight,

"Five hundred years in slumber and no one bothered to wake me up from my deep sleep. Something is not right, I can't sense any of my servants. This has never happened before, where are Layla and the other Warlords, are they all right?" William whispered as he looked at the moon through the window with various thoughts surfacing in his head.

At the same time, Veronica could be seen walking in William's direction at a slow and steady pace while her gaze was stuck on William's face. Roselyn could also be seen following Veronica while looking at William with a curious gaze.

A few moments later, Veronica approached William with a smile and placed the food tray on the table. Seeing the food, William exhaled deeply but he controlled his urge and tilted his head as he looked at Veronica,

"Why don't you join me along with Roselyn? You guys were about to have dinner but I interrupted at the wrong time, it would be great if both of you could join me at the table," He said as he looked at Veronica. After hearing his proposal, Veronica was taken aback as William caught her by surprise.

There was a vast difference in their status, considering how expensive William's clothing looked. William noticed her gaze looming over his clothes and understood her worries. She definitely didn't want to get in trouble by associating with him. She was already convinced that he was either related to some high clan or came from a big family and therefore, sitting with him would be disrespectful as it might damage his reputation and status.

On the other hand, when Roselyn heard William's words, she directly jumped on one of the chairs and took a seat in front of William.

Seeing her acting like that, a bright smile appeared on William's face while Veronica became surprised at what Roselyn just did. Moreover, she was looking excited and somewhat curious when she entered the kitchen. She kept asking about William and Veronica told her that he was someone just passing by. This was the first time she was interested in knowing about someone else. Moreover, her facial expressions clearly conveyed that she liked William.

William raised his head and looked at Veronica who was still standing and thinking about his offer.

Her mind was in a state of denial but her heart said that she should listen to William. In the end, she followed her heart and took a seat.

She was not aware that it was because she just couldn't resist William's charm. Despite trying very hard, her heart was thumping wildly. She just couldn't control her emotions, she was feeling vulnerable around him.

"Let me serve you," Veronica said in a trembling voice and took a spoon. As she was about to serve him, she was interrupted by the sound of commotion outdoors.

Upon hearing those voices coming from outside, William closed his eyes and when he opened them the next moment, they flickered slightly with killing intent but since it was only for a second, no one noticed it.

At the same time, Veronica's face turned dark and Roselyn started shaking with fear as if she was really afraid of something.

"Bastards, they ruined my dinner along with my good mood. Here I thought I was not going to spill any blood." William whispered in a low voice and got up from his seat. Noticing William's actions, Veronica came to her senses and grabbed his hand.

"They are going to kill you. Please leave this place from the back door.I don't want to put your life in danger because of me," She said with a worried expression on her face.
