Chapter 3 - Five hundred years in slumber

Upon hearing William's words, both of them exchanged glances as they looked at him from top to bottom. He was wearing a long black suit, somewhat resembling the people from an upper-class family. His appearance led both of them to be in awe.

"Your coffin..." Yuan and Xin began to ask in unison.

"Yes, my coffin?" William scratched the back of his head and asked the duo.

"How did you end up inside that thing? How are you still alive? We took out that thing from deep waters, its impossible to survive that long being inside water. How did you do that?" Taking the cue, Xin asked him a stream of questions as he wasn't able to control his curiosity.

After listening to him, William's facial expressions slightly changed.

"You guys found me inside the water? that's strange..."William scratched his chin and he continued.

"the last thing I remember...I went to sleep and when I opened my eyes, I found myself with humans,I didn't expect to see humans after opening my eyes" William responded to Xin in a calm manner.

Upon hearing William, both of them only become more confused. They thought this young man was some kind of a weirdo who somehow ended up inside that thing accidentally. Although there were still a few things that were not making any sense, they didn't sense anything unusual from Willam. They were quite calm in his presence and in their eyes he was just an harmless young kid but the reality is different as they were not aware of his extraordinary background.

"Seeing your appearance I can say that you belong to some kind of noble or wealthy family but I dont understand how did you end up inside that box either way we are not interested in knowing, it's too late and the city gate is about to close if we didn't hurry we are going to get into troubles," Xin said groaning in pain.

"Solana city?"William raised his eyebrows as he looked at the duo in surprised manner.

"Kid, you are close to Solana city, which is situated in the eastern part of the Raven Kingdom." Yuan responded as he looked at William in calm manner and then he shifted his gaze toward the sky, he realized that the weather had somehow become normal again.

"Raven kingdom? Never heard this name before, can you tell me what year is this?" William asked.

Hearing that, Xin and Yuan's hearts nearly skipped a beat and their jaws dropped to the ground. This was simply because there was not even a single soul who didn't know about the Raven Kingdom. Everyone knew about it. Even if you asked a random child, he could tell you everything related to it, even its history. It just goes to show how powerful the Raven Kingdom really was.

William's words made them question his sanity. They thought this young man was either retarded or had somehow lost his memories. However, both of them didn't want to dwell on it anymore. After all, they were already late to reach the city. So, Yuan took a step toward William and confronted him.

"Young man, my name is Yuan and he is my cousin Xin. This is the year 1450. I don't know what your deal is but we should leave this place as soon as possible because, in a few hours, this place will be crawling with beasts and monsters. Trust me, this place would not be safe soon." The fisherman named Yuan responded to William, the moment those words reached to Williams's ears his facial expressions turned solemn for the first time after opening his eyes in this unknown surrounding.

'The Year 1450? I have been sleeping for the past five hundred years, why has no one tried to wake me up from my slumber? Where is Layla'William thought to himself the moment he came to know that he was sleeping for the past five hundred years,He couldn't believe what he just heard and instantly, he was lost in his thoughts.

Seeing him in a daze, Yuan cleared his throat and asked, "Are you okay, young man? We need to hurry. Please understand, I have two wives and Six small kids and I don't want to die here. I am not the kind of a person who will leave you out here in this wilderness, just come with me." Yuan said while looking at William. Xin silently shook his head at the same time After listening to these two middle-aged men, William came out of his stream of thoughts.

"You two go ahead first. Thank you for looking after me for a while. Take your horse and leave, the cart is destroyed and the three of us can't ride a single horse." William smiled and placed one of his hands on Yuan's shoulder and looked at him with his deep blue eyes.

The next moment Yuan felt something different in his body. He nodded his head in response, "Whatever you say, take care of yourself out there, young man." Yuan whispered as he looked at William and shifted his gaze toward Xin, signaling him to leave.

Xin became surprised by Yuan's behaviour. He knew that yuan is not someone who would leave a young kid just because he asked him to leave. This shocked him but he didn't say anything because he had his own suspicions about William and he didn't want to get associated with this young man any further.

After a while, both of them took the horse and left the place. William remained standing there as he looked at the two fishermen leaving his sight. Sometime later, he shifted his gaze toward one of the hills standing high in few miles away from him.he took a step in that direction and the next moment he was right there, standing at the ridge of that hill. It only took him a moment to reach there.

"I was in slumber for the last five hundred years. When I woke up, I found myself surrounded by humans. This is odd, I never slept more than fifty years, what happened this time?" William mumbled as he stood at the edge of the hill and in front of his eyes was a city full of humans.

"Where is Layla, why is she not here? And why I am not inside my castle? This never happened before…" As William whispered to himself, he suddenly heard a sound coming from his stomach.

"I am thirsty, it's been a while since I ate or drank," William mumbled as his stomach made another sound. The next moment, he jumped off the cliff and instantly landed on the ground in the blink of an eye and a moment later his figure disappeared like a ghost.
