The Hanging Treant is as big as it can get now. I think it has stopped growing, as if it needed a nudge, a push, whether from itself or from outside forces, to become a world tree. Like students hitting a roadblock on their homework, only on a bigger scale. Much, much bigger scale. Pretty sure the nudge is to connect the Hanging Treant to The World Tree
It emanates a powerful divine mana. Not as powerful as the World Tree itself, but still powerful. Looking at the Hanging Treant, I think the only thing that remains the same is the old face of the Hanging Treant, still the same as when I first met him.
"Thank you very much" [Diana].
"It doesn't hurt, does it?" [Doll Diana]
"It doesn't" [Hanging Treant].
"Strengthening the Werehouse with the Divine Mana of the Hanging Treant. The witch Merlin is very clever" [Calypso].
"So the branch from the Hanging Treant, when used as the foundation for the Werehouse, can act as a healing spell for the Werehouse. Interesting" [Jester Bone]
"Master Merlin said it's like having a mana or health potion on your side that's always active" [Diana].
"I would say it's similar. However, there should be a much needed refinement. The process should be easier than refining a world tree branch, but be prepared, it's still a difficult one" [Hanging Treant].
So I couldn't just use this for Werehouse right away. As expected. It's strong in divine mana, yes, but I couldn't really detect any healing mana. Maybe there's a way to convert it? I mean, my clothes and wand are also made of World Tree, and it has undergone several refinements to become what it is today. I'm glad that Grandma Farhah taught me when I was in the Elven Kingdom, which means...
"This rigorous process... This will be very difficult" [Diana].
"My student taught you by the looks of it" [Hanging Treant].
"Grandma Farhah did... I remember being drenched in sweat afterwards" [Diana].
"It will be easier this time. I am not a World Tree" [Hanging Treant]
Master Merlin asked me to bring the doll with me. I'm sure she wanted the doll to help as well, and the doll gladly complied. The doll, Calypso and I walked out and went straight to Master Merlin's humble hut in the middle of the forest.
"You're all here. Perfect. Now let's get started" [Merlin].
The six cats, One, Two, Three, Four, Fie, and Six are also here. They're all elemental cats who are now continuously emitting light mana. Fie's siblings also get their mana from me, so they're able to use all the elements just like me. They still like me, but between me and Master Merlin, they prefer Master Merlin.
Unlike when I was with Grandma Farhah, Master Merlin prepared several tools. From a special chisel to a Bunsen burner that emits a holy flame. The needle also looks strange. It's definitely bigger than your usual needle, and not only that, the thread is soaked in honey. Wouldn't that make Werehouse rot faster? Not from the honey (maybe a little), but more from the insects that gather around afterwards.
"The World Tree Priestess need all of that? Of course she doesn't. She's basically like the Goddess favourite daughter herself, while we're witches, so we need to get help wherever we can" [Merlin].
"That... Actually makes sense" [Diana].
"Makes you appreciate your grandmother more, doesn't it?" [Merlin]
"True. I'm amazed too" [Diana].
"That, as well as what we are going to do, is different from refining your clothes and wand" [Merlin]
According to Master Merlin, she wanted the floor that houses the core of the werehouse to be made entirely of the branches of the Hanging Treant. That way, it can heal itself well.
"What if we use the World Tree?" [Calypso]
"It will definitely become more powerful" [Doll Diana].
"True, but Werehouse isn't strong enough to use the World Tree at the moment as its foundation . It will probably be intoxicated by the excessive mana from the World Tree" [Merlin].
"Toxic!?" [Diana]
"Anything in excess is poisonous" [Merlin].
We will begin the process by chiseling out the branch to make it smooth. Chisel here. Chisel there, while the elemental cats make sure the divine mana hasn't been drained from the branch. Occasionally, the chisel needs to be in great shape, so the holy flame from the Bunsen burner is used. Continue to chisel away, carefully, until the branch becomes a smooth plank. Don't use too much mana. Don't lower my mana. Just maintain it.
"It's less hard compared to refining my dresses and wand" [Diana].
"Now comes the best part, the sewing!" [Merlin]
"How?" [Diana]
"How do we sew a plank?" [Calypso]
"And this needle looks strange. But the honey thread looks delicious" [Doll Diana].
"Believe it or not, you can. Watch" [Merlin]
Master Merlin sewed the thread into the plank... How? It's like the plank suddenly became something like a piece of clothing!? I tried to touch it, but it still felt hard. When the doll tried it, even she was surprised, and of course when I tried it, she said
"Amazing... This is fun! Aah! The mana is out!" [Diana]
"It's okay. That's why One to Six are all here." [Merlin]
"Meow" [Fie]
"Yes, yes... You're Fie now instead of Five" [Merlin]
"Still, why the honey thread?" [Calypso]
"Honey is a good medicine, be it for animals or plants. It has very high healing properties, so when it is incorporated into this plank, it will allow it to generate healing mana, thus making the Werehouse stronger and healthier, and capable of self-healing" [Merlin].
"Master Merlin is truly amazing!" [Diana]
"Best witch ever!" [Doll Diana]
"Knowledgeable! As expected from my godmother!" [Calypso]
"Praise me more, younglings!" [Merlin]
After we finished making a plank, Master Merlin asked the puppet and Calypso to continue making the required amount in the dungeon. She gives them the tools they need and also lets the cats sleep in the dungeon. I also join in. Many hands make the work easy
