Calian soon discovers that the Shadowlord was none other than his own mother, Zelma. She had been playing the game on his PC and had become obsessed with it. She had stumbled upon the Soulkeeper and discovered its power to bring NPCs to life as players. She had used it to resurrect Lirien, not realizing the consequences of her actions.
Calian was shocked and angry that his mother had tampered with the game, but he also felt a sense of responsibility for Lirien's predicament. He decided to confront Zelma, but he also knew that he couldn't blame her completely as he was the one who had introduced her to the game.
Zelma, realizing the gravity of her actions, was filled with remorse and guilt. She apologized to Calian and Lirien and promised to help them find a way out of the game.
Calian, Lirien and Zelma, together with Lucien who eventually learned the truth, formed a group to try to find a way out of the game. They went on a quest to discover the truth about the game, its creator and the purpose of the game.
As the chapter ends, Calian and his family, in-game and real-life, are united in their quest to escape the game and discover the truth behind it. They knew that it wouldn't be an easy task but they were determined to succeed.
