Luca didn't need to ask me twice.
"Sure," I whispered.
I crept back inside to retrieve my cloak, trying my best to avoid making any noise. The door creaked slightly when I opened it, and my heart stopped, anxiously checking to see if Cece or Amelia had woken up. But they were fast asleep.
Whew.
I felt silly for creeping around, but the idea of being alone with Luca in this new, unexplored place under the romantic moonlight urged me to move quickly and quietly. I didn't want us to be disturbed.
When I got back outside, someone else was there, and my excitement plummeted. Great. So much for being alone.
"Oh. Hi, Elliot," I said sullenly.
Luca looked amused when he saw my expression.
I looked away so he couldn't read more into it.
To my surprise, Luca prodded my back and guided me down the wooden stairs on the side of the balcony, leaving Elliot behind us.
I gave Luca a questioning look.
