I wanted to hug him right then and there, but I stopped myself by tearing off a piece of pink fluff. I ate it.
It was so sweet! Sickeningly sweet. But somehow, I liked it. A lot. And it instantly dissolved in my tongue like some kind of magic.
I grinned happily. "Here Cece, try it!"
She tossed her head haughtily and frowned.
"No, thank you," she said dryly. "You don't even know what's in there. It could be dangerous. You shouldn't eat it, Lena."
I laughed. "Nonsense. It's fine, Cece. See?" I popped another one into my mouth and smiled.
She threw me a distasteful look and looked away.
Her hostility caught me off guard. Maybe she was just in a bad mood, or she was probably still mad at Luca.
Regardless, nothing… not even Cece, could spoil my happiness at that moment.
I held out the fairy floss to Luca, who was leaning his arm on the window, so we could share.
