Arriving in front of the palace, the guards at the front gate stopped Adrian and his company. Adrian and Marylyn showed the royal children's insignia. One from Prince Charles and the other from Princess Chelsea. The royal twins give it to them 2 years ago to avoid trouble when entering the palace and also, they did not need to wait in front of the gate awaiting their arrival.
The guards already knew who holds the prince and princess insignia, the Cross family kids. The royals can only have 1 insignia to each member of the family. It holds the meaning of trust towards the other party. Adrian and Marylyn had to return it when the twins asked them back or the king orders it.
"Ah… You two must be Adrian and Marylyn Cross. You may enter but your butler must be 15 meters away from the royals as per the rules. The one who had no prove of trust must be denied but as for the one who they came with holds the mark of trust, they need to keep distance." One of the bulky palace guards spoke.
"That is fine. He just here as our guardian." Adrian spoke as Ralph also nods and bows understanding of the rules.
"We will inform the prince and princess for your arrival. Please enter the waiting room first." The guards lead them inside.
Waiting patiently on the couch as Ralph stands far at the corner of the room. The door to the room opens and a boy and a girl with flaming ginger hair enters.
"Adrian! I miss you, man. My sister keeps being mean to me when you are not here." Prince Charles complains and hugs Adrian suddenly but he remains stoic as he is use to it and also, he is busy planning to solve the red warning.
"Humph. I am not. Adrian, I am lady like as I can be when you are not here. Come here Mary, give your big sister a big hug." Princess Chelsea denies the accusation and put her arms in front asking a hug from Marylyn. Still Adrian is staring into space looking at the screens that only he can see.
"Big sis Chelsea! I miss you very much." Marylyn rushes towards the open arms of Chelsea and embrace her. Chelsea had developed a bit although she is only 10 years old. Marylyn feels comfortable in it.
"Hey Charles, Chelsea. Have you two been well? Let's talk at lunch. Should we go out or you guys want to eat in the palace?" Adrian briefly looked at them while giving the three choices for lunch.
"Let's eat. Mary is hungry." Marylyn complains while still hugging Chelsea.
"Let's go out." The twin makes a decision at the same time.
"Still creepy. But… okay let's eat out. Tell the guards and prepare the carriage. We will be eating at Nova Restaurant. Ralph sits with the coachmen." Adrian gives his plans while commenting on the twin's abnormal synchronization. Charles sighs while Chelsea felt depressed. Then, the twins looked at each other…
"Okay! Stop copying me. No, you first." The twins said in sync and left together to tell the guards while quarrelling in the halls. It's a just a normal day in the palace.
A golden carriage rode through the noble district in Amber Rose capital until arriving in front of a restaurant. The sign reads 'Nova Restaurant'.
"Welcome Prince Charles and Princess Chelsea. Oh? There is also young Adrian and Miss Marylyn. Welcome all of you. It's an honour to us that you come back here." The restaurant manager greets them politely.
"Good food will make anyone come back. Enough pleasantries, it is cold out here. Please guide us in." Adrian gives a praise the restaurant and asking the manager to bring them to a private table.
"Right away. Please leave your coats to me and a waiter will guide you inside." The manger instructs them.
The group of four sat down, ordered some food and start chatting about mana awakening. Adrian just gives them vague answers and tells them,
"It's a once and lifetime experience. Just go through it with an empty heart." He gives some words of wisdom.
Soon after that, the food is served to the table. All of them are extravagant. Adrian also ordered some extra sweets for the others. Chelsea and Marylyn eyes sparkled like the stars seeing delicious food paired with lots of sweets. Charles already wolfs the food down like he hasn't eaten in a few days.
They chatted some more until Marylyn tell them about Cross Catch. She tells them all about the game and the experience she gone through. Adrian just eating quietly while focusing on creating some aliment spells by referencing the incomplete magic pattern dictionary he made. The twins were amaze at Adrian's achievement after hearing the story.
"Adrian, show me how to play it." Charles spoke excitedly.
"I want to play too. Let's have fun together Adrian." Chelsea is in the same mood as Charles.
"Alright, alright. We play after this. I bought 5 discs for you guys anyways." Adrian calmed them down while looking at the success notification and show a big smile.
"Is the food to your liking?" The manager suddenly asked
"Yes, we enjoyed it very much. Thank you for your services, here is your tip. We will come back if we had time." Adrian praised the restaurant services and tip with a gold coin to the manger.
"Hohoho, that is why I like a generous gentleman like you young Adrian. You all are welcome anytime you wish. We will promise to give you a wonderful service." The manger gives his guarantee.
After having lunch, they went back to the carriage. On the way, Adrian pulls Chelsea to the side to ask a favour.
"Chel, can I ask you a favour?" Adrian spoke softly while scratching the back of his head to the blushing girl. Chelsea is the one who wants Adrian to called her 'Chel', no one else calls her that.
"What is it?" Chelsea shyly replies.
"Can you stay by Marylyn for me today? Just make sure she follows you around. That's it." Adrian said bluntly.
"Okay." Chelsea dejectedly replies as if she was hoping for something else.
"Thanks. I owe you one. Let's go back." Adrian smile brightly hearing Chelsea's answer. With this his threat extermination plan is set.
"Humph. You owe me one indeed." Chelsea said with a bit of anger in her tone while stomping her feet.
Arriving back in the palace the group is sitting down having a chat in the lounge room while marvelling the discs that Adrian brought. They asked lots of questions about the game. Adrian just answers them truthfully but not in detail about how he thought about it.
The group happily chatted. Suddenly, Queen Charlotte came in. The Cross sibling and Ralph wanted to bow but the queen use her mana to refrain them.
"Please no need to be so courteous. I heard young Adrian invented a game for all to play so I just came in and want to know more about it." The queen said with curiousness in her beautiful scarlet eyes.
"Of course." Adrian replies and tell her about Cross Catch in detail for 20 minutes while also answering her questions.
Then, King Elijah came inside wondering the where his wife is. The process repeats for Adrian to explain the game.
"Interesting idea you come up with, young Adrian. I also want to play the game. I want to spent time with the kids too. Work can wait, hahaha." King Elijah trying to run away from work.
"Me too. It had been long since we had a friendly competition, right Eli." Queen Charlotte says while glancing towards the king.
"Indeed, it has. Hahahaha. Let's go. I know a place that we can use." King Elijah laughs heartily excepting the queen's challenge.
