After the siblings make their resolve, both of them are in the library studying after breakfast. Marylyn is reading Adrian's book notes while Adrian is memorizing all of the magic books available in the library. With the help of 'Hyper memory' and 'Memory place' he can store as many spells that he wants.
He thought the after memorizing all the magic books he wants to go to the training grounds to deconstruct the spells and create a new one.
Self-created magics are kept secret by the creator themselves. It depends on them to share it or not. It's been this way since the beginning of time. The Primordials shared their most basic magic and each racial traits to their descendants.
This is the will of the gods. They want intelligent beings to carve their own path.
Page after page, books after books. From basics to advance. All of them store in that big head of Adrian's. This went on until lunch break.
"Big brother let's have lunch." Marylyn is bored but seeing his big brother working hard she don't want to fall behind.
"Okay, let's go." Adrian immediate agrees.
[Notice. 112 spells have been recorded in the 'Memory palace']
Adrian smiles and went to lunch with Marylyn joining with their parents.
"Seems like both of you are working hard. Mommy wants to join as well if your dad is not so slow doing his work." Amanda cracks a joke on the table.
Both kids looked at their dad. He looks 'dead'. Amanda must grind him through the ringer.
"Ah… I almost forgot. There is a letter from your grandpa and grandma they will come and visit at the start of winter break. That's a little over a month from now. Here is the letter." Amanda hands over the letter to Marylyn.
"Dear our loving daughter, your mom and dad will come to visit our grandchildren during winter. P.S. Rosaria and Erika will also come. It seems like everyone will be coming this winter." Marylyn reads the letter noticing the bottom half of the letter had a rough handwriting.
"It is my first time seeing grandpa and grandma. Mary feels nervous." Marylyn adds with a worried tone.
"Don't worry Mary. Like last time your big brother will be with you." Adrian tries easing his sister's worry.
"Ah the memories. When you were a baby, your big brother tries his best to stop your crazy grandpa from getting to you. Don't worry, my baby girl." Amanda reassured Marylyn.
"Really? Big brother does?" Marylyn wants to hear the full story.
"That is true. Your brother holds on to you not letting anyone close. But he lost. Fufufu…" Amanda chuckled telling the story vaguely.
Adrian remembers that defeat. It cost him his tooth. His face is turning red remembering that.
Marylyn looks at his brother with shining eyes. She now understands what his brother meant.
"Enough with the stories. I want to go to the training grounds after this for magic practice. You can join in too if you want Mary." Adrian changes the topic.
"That's okay big brother. I want to read more of your books. It is easy to understand." Marylyn politely rejects the offer while giving a big smile.
"Sure. You can take as many books from the shelves in my room. But. Don't hand it over to anyone, okay?" Adrian pats his little sister's head.
"Yes, big bother." Marylyn replies.
"Oh, you already want to learn casting. Be careful okay. Ralph watch over him. I will ask a maid to watch over Marylyn. Good luck both of you. Let's go darling." Amanda gives her children kisses before dragging her 'dead' husband to continue work.
"Yes, madam." Ralph nods.
"Wait, dad didn't even touch his food. Ugh… Whatever. I will go now. You can take a nap first Mary before you want to continue studying. It is better to take a nap before you continue studying after lunch. Ask the maid to wake you up after 1 hour." Adrian notices his dad's plate is untouched while giving Marylyn some studying advise.
"Okie dokie, big brother." Marylyn agrees because she did feel a little drowsy.
Adrian arrives at the familiar training grounds Ralph and went straight to work.
"Aria, you said if the target is deconstructed the original base will disintegrate right?"
[Responding. Correct.]
[Notice. Targets from the 'Memory palace' will stay remembered until Master wills it to disappear.]
"I see. So, I don't have to worry." Adrian feels reassured.
Stopping and thinking what he wants to create. As they say, "Imagination leads to unlimited possibilities."
"Okay. Let's start with that." Adrian made a decision while thinking of modern technology for his past.
[Target 'Fireball' deconstructed. Successful results.]
[Target 'Lightning strike' deconstructed. Successful results.]
[Target 'Wind push' deconstructed. Successful results.]
Almost 50 different patterns appear in front of him. As 'Fireball' and 'Lightning strike' are magic circles, only the 'Wind push' is a basic mana pattern.
[Deconstructed magic circles have been simplified as patterns. Each pattern represents characteristics and the physics of how the spell works.]
[Successful results show all patterns are identified. Characteristics and physics are found.]
[Master may arrange the patterns to 'Construct' into a new magic circle.]
"So, all that's left is the trial and error." Adrian began to move his hands in the air arranging the patterns with the characteristics his new spell may had.
Ralph who is waiting by the side made a puzzled expression seeing Adrian waving his hand in the air like a mad man.
"I see. I see. Grandpa did say a magic circle is an everchanging language to communicate with the elements. Bah… it's just basic physics. To make fire, one needs to follow the fire triangle. Oxygen, Heat and Fuel. To make a fireball stronger, just need to add the following Air, Fire elemental particles and mana and balance it out." Adrian mumbles to himself.
After arranging the magic circle of the imagine spell that he wants he lets out a big grin.
"Construct."
[Constructing…]
[New spell created successfully. Created spell automatically saved in 'Memory palace'.]
[Please give a name.]
"Hehehe… this will be fun. Name it, 'Railgun'." Adrian laughs excitedly.
[Spell 'Railgun' created]
"This is great! Now let's test this out." Adrian is showing an expression of a child.
[Warning. Not enough mana to cast spell 'Railgun'. ARIA advise Master to not cast the spell.]
"Huh? It's that strong as I cannot have enough mana to cast it?" Adrian is flabbergasted after hearing the warning from Aria.
[Responding. Yes. Spell 'Railgun contains a very high destructive power. If Master cast it forcefully Master will be drained of mana.]
[In Etterra, if a being with mana that drain themselves of mana will result in a sickness called the 'withering' where the physical body contains no more mana and the vitality of the individual is replaced by it. The individual with begin to aged rapidly until lifeforce is enough to replaced a drop of mana.]
[This can also lead to death.]
"I… I see. Beings in Etterra were already born with mana after all. Its just, one need to awaken it until they reached of age. I just forgot that mana is actually dangerous since I had only awakened my mana." Adrian takes a step back.
"But there is no way that all the spells I create will need a lot of mana right. Yes, I just need to think of it in a simpler matter." And there he goes with his reignited arrogance.
