It was almost late evening, the sunset is already painting the sky beautiful orange. Adrian is still standing still, moving his hands in the air with an annoyed expression.
"I can't believe I don't have enough mana to cast any of the 7 spells I created." Adrian feels depressed.
"Young master, I think you should stop for today. Let's go back and have dinner. You can try again tomorrow." Ralph tries to cheer up Adrian although he is confused with Adrian's actions today.
"Sigh… you are right. Let's go, Ralph." Adrian left the training grounds with Ralph wearing a sour expression.
Adrian went to his room and took an ice-cold bath that he made himself and send Ralph to prepare for dinner.
"Sigh, such a depressing day. Aria, give me some advice to overcome this, please." Adrian turns to Aria his other half.
[Advice. Master can use Durandal special ability 'Mana circulation +' to quickly increase Master's mana capacity.]
"That's it. I forgot to test it off because too many eyes are watching. If people know my 'spirit weapon' can be used to increase one's mana, they all will chased after me. Whew… the plot is saved." Adrian stands up from the bath tub after the realization, showing his full moon.
Adrian finished his bath, gets dressed and went to the dining room. He sits down next his dad and across his mom while showing a big smile.
"Oh… Have you cheered up? Ralph tells us about what happened on the training grounds. We just wanted to cheered you up. But it seems like it's not needed." Amanda is glad seeing Adrian picked himself up.
"That is good. You don't have to worry if you cannot cast magic on your first try. It happened once to me too. What's important is that you do not feel down and give up. Keep trying son." Malcom tells his story while also glad that Adrian has his spirit.
"Big brother, what's wrong are you hurt?" Marylyn asked in a worried voice, oblivious to the current scenario.
"I'm fine Mary, I'm not hurt. I just cannot cast a spell today. I will try again tomorrow. Thank you, dad, mom for cheering me on." Adrian tells the truth to Marylyn while thanking his parents for trying to cheer him up.
"Dinner is served. I ask the cook to prepare some extra." Ralph serves dinner, making some extra to cheer up Adrian.
"Thank you, Ralph" Adrian thanked Ralph.
"Let's eat." Malcom declares and starts dinner.
After dinner, Adrian started to move. He took some of the books he wrote from his room and bring it to Marylyn's room.
"Mary, here some of my books that I suggest you should study for now. You can keep it inside your room. Bye now. Good night." Adrian just barges into Marylyn's room seeing her still reading a book and dropped he books he wants to give then just rush back to his room.
Inside his room, Adrian shuts his door and lock it. Leaning against the door, he wipes off a drop of sweat dripping on his forehead.
"Okay, coast is clear." Adrian checks everything using 'Map' and 'Mana sense' being extra careful.
"Aria, do you have any advice before I start?" Adrian being more cautious and turns to Aria.
[Responding. When Master starts circulating mana, there is a possibility someone in the area can detect it.]
"What? D*mn it. What should I do now?" Adrian feeling lost now.
[Advice. Summon the 'Grimoire of the Fallen' to nullify the presence of mana around Master as the 2 unidentified energies are stronger than mana and the energies are undetectable to mortals.]
"Huh? Undetectable to 'Mortals'? It's good that there is a solution. Aria, do you know what is the unidentifiable energies is?" Adrian suddenly becomes curious because it seems like Aria knows about it.
[Responding. ARIA only made some speculations. Conclusive results are unknown.]
"Give me your opinion on it." Adrian starts to be reeled in
[Responding. The energy that envelopes Master's soul, detected on the Magic Tower and one of the energy on the 'Grimoire of the Fallen' is speculated by ARIA to be Divine Energy. Energy only be used by the Gods.]
"???" Adrian's brain starts to smoke because of information overload. It's the first time this happen in his life, previous and current.
"What did the gods wan… Argh, forget it. Those questions will just keep popping up and brings distraction. Hindering my growth. Plus, I'm too weak to think of that now. Let's just move on with this." Adrian sticks to his goal and completely forgets about it.
SMACK!
"Let's begin." Adrian slaps both of his cheeks
[Selected: Durandal]
"Equipped"
"Come out." Adrian orders the grimoire
After Durandal appears on his right hand, the tattoos on his left arm starts appearing. Chains start manifesting from the tattoo still coiling on his arm. The two wings on his back hand disappear and a chained book manifest onto Adrian's left hand. Adrian channel some mana on the chains and the book starts to float at the level of his neck.
"Okay. Preparations are ready. How should I do this Aria?" Adrian feels his heart begin pumping rapidly.
[Responding. Master only needs to hold 'Durandal' on the hilt and the tip of the blade and start circulating mana.]
"Oh… Interesting. If I hold it like this, it forms like a circuit using Durandal as a 'battery'." Adrian finally understands and gets into position then proceed circulating mana into Durandal.
The mana flows into the hilt and goes through the blade. From the blade it flows inside Adrian's chain wrapped left hand. The mana meld inside him.
"This feels heavenly." Adrian starts to sit cross legged after feeling the effects.
[Notice. Rich presence of mana managed to enhance physical capabilities.]
Time passed without him knowing. Notifications are also ignored. Adrian sinks himself in circulating his mana for 6 hours.
"Whew… this is amazing." He turns to his right and looked at the legendary sword of the paladin Roland. He can see his own reflection on it. He knew some western myths in his past life but he did not take those seriously because it made him feel jealous of the person who holds it. It will become much easier if fantasy is reality during his time on Earth. With that kind of power he can do anything including saving his family.
Then he turns to his left, staring at the old looking levitating grimoire that its chains are wrapping around his left arm. There is a lot of mystery regarding it. Aria told him that the grimoire will bring benefit to him and this thing has a bit of sentience. Although it does benefit him to keep his presence hidden when he is circulating mana but it's a d**n grimoire for Pete's sake. Where are the recorded spells? What does it need to unlock it? Did it bond with him because he fulfils a condition that it only bonds when in the presence of another god artifact?
Adrian's thoughts are filled with questions regarding the grimoire but there is no information regarding it at all. Even Aria who had information of two Akashic records don't know about it. He hoped it will be solved in the future. He had to admit that tattoos are cool but he don't want a tattoo that is not of his choosing.
"It seems like I immerse myself too deep. There are also some notifications." Adrian checks the notifications after waking up while still holding Durandal.
"What?" Adrian shocked seeing the many notifications.
"Status."
