Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

This year, there are many files waiting to be translated into various languages. Before marrying Angka, Indira often stayed in her office and always came home late. But nowadays, Indira always tries to get home quickly because she loves the hot meals made by Angka's family chef, which are healthy and very delicious.

Angka himself often came home late and rarely ate at home. So, the only chance Indira had to see Angka was when it was past midnight. Usually as soon as she heard the smooth sound of the man's car engine, Indira would slightly open the curtains covering the windows and calmly observe the driver in a neat suit get off the steering wheel and then swiftly open the door for Angka who immediately walked into the house.

The moment only lasted for a few seconds, but somehow Indira couldn't sleep if she didn't make sure that Angka arrived home every day.

Indira blinked her eyes and averted her gaze from the open glass window. Indira then walked away from the bathroom and sat in front of her desk while wiping her hair to check some emails that had just arrived in her mailbox.

After a few moments immersed in her work, Indira was jolted awake when she heard a knock on the door.

Indira then went to open the door to her room thinking that it was uncle Hengki bringing her dinner, but as soon as the door opened, Indira indeed met the gaze of uncle Hengki who unfortunately had nothing in either hand.

Seeing the puzzled look of the young woman in front of him, Uncle Hengki politely explained, "The young master has come home and he would like to have dinner with you now."

Indira was dumbfounded and spontaneously said, "Ah, Mr. Sangkala invited me to dinner?"

"Yes." Uncle Hengki looked at Indira's wet hair before continuing, "You can dry your hair first before you go downstairs, but please don't take too long."

"Okay, I'll be right down," Indira replied before closing the door again. She quickly changed out of her nightgown into more casual clothes.

After drying her hair, Indira then hurried downstairs for fear of making Angka wait too long and upsetting him.

During her stay in this house, Indira had never eaten at the dining table and always asked Uncle Hengki to bring her food to her room. Indira had been in her room the whole time and Angka had never disturbed her. So Indira couldn't help but feel a little curious as this was the first time Angka had called her downstairs for dinner.

Once downstairs, Indira could immediately see Angka sitting alone at the dining table in his nightclothes. For the first time Indira did not see Angka wearing his usual stiff suit and silently felt that Angka in his nightwear looked more relaxed.

Indira walked over to the dining table and said, "Good evening."

Seeing the tableware already prepared and the sitting posture of Angka who was waiting for her, Indira couldn't help but feel a little anxious.

Angka did not raise his head from the screen of his phone and simply moved his chin to point at a nearby chair while saying, "Please sit down."

But as soon as a trace of light scent suddenly entered his sense of smell, Angka was slightly startled and unconsciously immediately raised his head. His gaze then fell on Indira who had just finished bathing and looked clean. The woman looked radiant with her skin looking slightly ruddy. The short-sleeved black shirt with loose cloth pants of the same color made her look a little childish and Angka couldn't help but smile amusedly on his lips.

Realizing Angka's gaze that was scrutinizing her clothes, Indira forcefully suppressed her nervousness and calmly asked, "Is there something wrong with my appearance?"

"No." Angka took a slow breath before saying, "It's nothing. Let's have dinner."

Looking at Angka who was busy eating his food, Indira nodded slowly and then began to take some food for herself.

After a while, Angka looked back at Indira and said, "I heard from Uncle Hengki that you bought a bicycle."

"Right, I bought it and will use it as my transportation from here to my workplace. I was very grateful for your gift of a car, but it would have been too distracting to use for work, so I bought a bicycle."

"I see, that's also a pretty good thing." Angka then continued, "Ah yes, your father asked me to visit your house."

"That's his house," Indira corrected calmly before saying, "I've only been living with my grandmother all this time."

"Mr. Arya told me that he raised you all this time and I know that it's all a lie. Did he even visit you and your grandmother before our marriage?"

Indira put down her spoon and replied, "Never."

Angka nodded in understanding and asked again, "What about Rahayu? Have you even met each other."

"Never." Indira replied calmly.

"Anyway, we should still visit your father's house this weekend and I want to ask you to do something." Angka wiped the corner of his lips with a napkin while looking at Indira with a sharp gaze.

Indira was always uncomfortable exchanging glances with Angka, so she could only nod slowly without being able to open her lips to answer.

Angka then leaned his back on the back of the chair while staring blankly at the candlelight in the center of the dining table. "I suspect that Rahayu is not pregnant. I at least believe that it was Erga who asked Rahayu to admit she was pregnant in order to cancel our marriage."

Hearing that, Indira unconsciously furrowed her brows slightly. Hadn't Angka and Rahayu's marriage been annulled because of Rahayu's pregnancy? So why did Angka suddenly suspect that Rahayu wasn't really pregnant?

But Indira couldn't bring herself to ask that and could only ask, "So what should I do for you?"

Angka again dropped his gaze on Indira's face as he said in a commanding tone, "I want you to confirm that for me when we visit your father's home."
