Lothaire was smoking at the window side since Larisa had gone to take a shower, staring out into the dark grey skies, lost in his thoughts at her unforgiving dilemma and what he could possibly do to save her, even though he had started exploring new ways to save her from Hela, it all seemed too dangerous but he didn't have a choice, in his case he was left without one and he had to make the move or his breed mate would die.
Yes, he had asked his father for help and the devil had tried to cut a deal with Hela but it wasn't all it was. After the deal with Hela failed, his father had introduced a new but more dangerous method to him which he hadn't yet accepted fully because he couldn't risk hurting her, but he knew that if he did nothing, he could lose her, so maybe he didn't really have any choice but to do it the devil's way, as long as she would have a chance to survive.
"Can we go see Lycan?" Larisa's small voice echoed in the large room as she stared up at Lothaire who was smoking by the window side, staring outside at the skies that had already darkened with grey clouds hovering above it. Lothaire disposed the remains of his cigarette in an ashtray on the small table near him before meeting her Hazel eyes.
His golden gaze narrowed to her dark brown hair that seemed almost black as it was still wet from the shower and the tip that still dripped with water. He ignored her question and pushed her gently to stand in front of the dressing mirror before taking a hair dryer and turning it on to dry her wet hair.
The hair dryer emitted heat atop her head, drying her hair and she could feel Lothaire's long fingers running through her hair for the heat to be emitted equally everywhere in her hair. Her eyelids closed as she felt the heat and Lothaire's hands working on her head, it was a nice feeling and it made her drowsy.
"So..." She trailed off as Lothaire interrupted her.
"Yes, we'll see Lycan tonight, the garden is at it's most ethereal at night." Lothaire's deep voice echoed in her ears and a smile lit her face.
"Hm" She mumbled sleepily as she felt the heat on her hair and Lothaire's long fingers massaging her scalp gently.
"All done, don't forget to dry your hair when you come out of the shower." Lothaire scolded as he turned off the hair dryer, placing it down on the table, making Larisa pout as she didn't want him to stop since it felt so good.
"I won't." She replied with a small voice as she brushed her hair and afterwards, turned around to face his towering figure to see his golden eyes peering at her.
"Let's go." He said, taking her small hand in his and pulling her towards the balcony, excitement visible on her face as she couldn't wait to see the majestic creature and the ethereal garden, but her face soon turned glum when she remembered it was the last place she saw Onyx and the image of Onyx's dead body with blood soaking her light blue dress played vividly in her head for a second but she immediately shook it off her mind as she had to move on, at least she was still with Lothaire and she had a chance to be happy with him.
The cold air whipped through her skin making her body shiver slightly. She saw a pair of large black feathery wings sprout out of his back unexpectedly, making her startled and filled with awe as she stared at it with wide eyes.
He immediately swept her off her feet as he carried her in his strong arms and she wrapped her arms around his strong neck for support as he walked closer to the rail, she could see his wings from behind his back ruffle slightly, leaving her wide eyed in disbelief as she trailed her fingers over it lightly. With one leap, he soared through the dark skies as his large wings flapped together, making them soar higher in an average speed, she could see the tall buildings light up from below until he soared higher into the sky and the tall buildings faded from her sight.
She could now only see the dark clouds like thick fogs covering the sky, making her see nothing but the dark grey clouds. They finally reached their destination and Lothaire softly landed on his feet with her in his arms. She could feel the eeriness being emitted from the place even without going through the illusion wall, like she had named it.
She saw his black wings disappear from his back and they both went through the illusion wall and appeared in the eerie garden. Her large Hazel eyes shone wide with delight as she saw the garden filled with dark beautiful flowers and the air filled with floating beautiful lights scattered everywhere in the garden.
"Are the flowers poisonous too?" She queried as she stared at the beautiful but daunting flowers from afar in case they were poisonous as she had never seen those type of flowers before except in the eerie garden and they looked odd.
"No, but they can be used as hexes and curses by witches, also potions." Lothaire replied, leaving her with parted mouth at the discovery which made her give the flowers a good distance as hexes and curses didn't sit well with her.
She followed Lothaire's lead towards the chasm were Lycan lived. Lothaire didn't say a word as they waited for Lycan to appear, while Larisa peeked into the chasm filled with thick fog to the brim until she saw the fog clear away as she saw the shadow of the large creature moving in the chasm.
The creature came to their sight which made her eyes go wide as the creature's gigantic spiky head came to her view, it looked perfectly fine which made her sigh in relief as she touched it's scaly hard body, feeling it's roughness in her hand as it peered it's magnifying golden eyes at her.
The dragon growled lowly, puff of smoke emanating from it's large nostrils as it bared it's sharp large fangs to her view, making her flinch back, withdrawing her hand in slight fear. She placed her hand back on it's rough scales when she became more composed.
"Do you want to ride it?" She heard Lothaire ask which made her a bit perplexed by his offer to let her ride the beast as she blinked her eyes.
"Can I?" She asked again just to make sure she didn't mishear.
"Sure." He replied nonchalantly.
"Won't people see him when we're flying?" Larisa asked.
"No, we're inside the illusion wall remember and what makes you think it's a he?" He queried with a smirk on his face, leaving her with widened eyes as she gasped in shock.
"It's a girl?" She exclaimed in disbelief before averting her gaze back to the fiery beast.
"Yes."
"Wow!" She exclaimed as she ran her hands on the hard surface of the beast.
"So do you want to ride her?" Lothaire queried again and she nodded her head vigorously in affirmation with a grin reaching her chin.
Lycan lowered it's scaly head for them to easily get on it, Lothaire carried her effortlessly on it, while he sat behind her and she gripped the spikes on it's head tightly as her heart raced in fear with a mixture of excitement. She could hear the dragon growling deeply as it moved which made her whimper as she heard the flapping of it's bat like wings and she suddenly felt the wind rush past her as it immediately soared high in the sky with immense speed till she could see the full round moon, which seemed like she could touch it as it seemed so close to them.
A smile lit on her face as Lycan reduced it's pace, making her relax into Lothaire's body as they soared in the sky. She watched as it's wings spread while the wind past through it, making it flutter a bit, then her gaze roamed about the dark skies and the clouds that had turned dark greyish in colour while the moon shone with streaks of dim lights passing through it on them, it was indeed a beautiful sight and a beautiful memory she was going to hold dear and cherish.
Lothaire watched her quietly as her hair danced in the wind while they soared through the skies, he could tell she was happy as she gasped continually in wonderment, he would love to see her at peace again and carefree but he knew within himself that it wasn't going yo happen any time soon, she would soon close her eyes and her nightmare would begin to haunt her all over again.
