**************
Stain had been aimlessly wandering the country for some time. He used to believe that he could rectify the world by taking matters into his own hands and eliminating all the fake heroes. However, his ideals changed upon encountering a particular incident.
Many people assumed that Stain killed heroes simply for the thrill of it, but how wrong they were. Oh, how twisted their mindsets were. He wasn't a one-track-mind person. He knew what he was doing, he conducted thorough research before taking action.
Stain knew of a hero who worked solely for monetary gain, yet he never targeted this individual. Why? Because this hero sought money to aid the destitute, the orphans, and the widowed. The hero's monetary pursuits did not indicate impure motives. Stain possessed the insight to distinguish between heroes based on their backgrounds. This hero did not live in a lavish mansion or drive a luxury car; instead, he relied on public transportation and expended most of his earnings to assist those in need.
The world knew him as the Hero Killer, a notorious villain and a pariah of society. Nevertheless, his conscience was clear, and his goal was noble. He sought to purify this world of its corrupt elements, particularly those who hailed as saviors, motivated by fame, wealth, and depravity. His actions were conscious, as he believed that every person he eliminated had ulterior motives that could destabilize society if left alone. But that wasn't all. No, what no one mentioned was that he also targeted rapists, mass murderers, and corrupt politicians who exploited the innocent.
He was also responsible for rescuing numerous children from the hands of Equity, a radical organization that sought to achieve equity by endowing everyone with Quirks. Despite sharing similar ultimate objectives, their ideologies were worlds apart. Equity had no qualms about using children for their experiments, and countless innocent lives were sacrificed under the guise of science. In contrast, Stain had a moral code that he adhered to. Even if his ultimate objective depended on the life of an innocent child, he would not hesitate to throw away his ideals to save that child. He knew that the path to his goal would be fraught with bloodshed and challenges, but he was willing to undertake it.
Initially he was intending to roam Hosu in search of his next targets, but he received a tip-off from his sources regarding a new Equity bunker in a different city. Without hesitation, he made his way there. For him, any innocent life was of greater value than the so-called fake heroes he sought to kill. He knew that he could always return to vanquish more heroes, but any delay could result in the death of a child.
After the raid on the bunker, where he had to kill all the workers to save the children, Stain retired to his motel room and switched on the television. The program that appeared on the screen was one of the few forms of entertainment that he enjoyed in the world – the UA Sports Festival. He made it a point to watch the event every year, as he found it to be a showcase of uncorrupted, aspiring heroes who were driven by the pure desire to save lives. These young heroes had yet to be burdened by the ideals and beliefs that society would later impose upon them.
"It was known before Quirks and only became obvious after they appeared, but no one was born equal. No one gets the same head start. Parents, country, healthy body... No one can choose where they are born, thus the world is not fair.
But there is one thing that is fair in this world...
Everyone has the chance for greatness…"
Stain looked at the boy speaking to the masses with his eyes devoid of any lie. "Who is this kid?"
"If all you do is whine and curse the world for unfairness, you can never achieve greatness and you fail yourself. I was born lucky with a strong Quirk and a great family. But ever since I awakened, I worked every day to stand on this stage. And from this forward, I will keep on working hard so I can stand at the top so I can proudly say that I didn't fail myself!"
Stain watched with rapt attention, as this was a belief that he held dear to his heart. Despite the fact that his vocal expressions might have sounded different, he, too, believed that equality could only be achieved through effort. This notion might seem nonsensical to some, given that many heroes appeared to be solely motivated by fame and money, while others did not even need recognition for saving those in need. However, what truly mattered was having a pure and noble goal. Only those who truly believed in the concept of equality could contribute to the creation of a truly equitable world.
"He is the pure hero I was seeking for my whole life," Stain said to himself. "He is the one."
He then watched the competition. This teen's every action, every word, all showed the comparison between him and others. Even the one with the greenhead. What if he wanted to become a hero ever since? What if he wanted to save the world with a pure heart? If he didn't work for it and whined while expecting the world to give him power… Could he bring true equality? Stain knew only those who worked would reap the benefits. His quirk was almost useless in combat if he couldn't draw blood. But he worked hard every single day. He honed his skills to the point that his Quirk became one of the most dangerous abilities out there. If he complained and sat still, could he achieve what he was doing today? He didn't think so.
"Hmm?" At this time, his phone rang. He checked the caller's ID and answered.
"Yes?" He huskily said.
"League wants to meet you." The other hand said.
"When and where?"
"In two days, I will take you there."
"Fine." With it, the call ended.
He had heard about the League of Villains through his own sources. He knew that they were a group of villains who were trying to bring about a new world order. And he was intrigued. Although League's aim was different from his, he knew he needed people in the same mindset that could help him in a pinch. Well, trusting another criminal was a fast track to death, but in some situations, it came in handy.
