The detective was there when Kirishima said the whole incident was unexpected and Mokami said yes. He probably sensed Mokami was lying, even though he only said 'yeah'.

'Damn it Kirishima!'

He doesn't have any clue though. When he talked to me, I managed to trick him. He cannot prove my guilt based on his Quirk, he can only use it to reach clues. Even if he was absolutely sure I was lying, which he is not, he couldn't take me in based on that. And there is no evidence!'

Detective Tsukauchi had a troublesome Quirk. He could sense if the people he spoke to lied or not. When he was questioning, Mokami didn't answer questions directly, but through the chip in his mind, he streamed answers from his voice box. Technically the one answering the questions wasn't him but Nigel, the AI, thus Detective's Quirk didn't pick up his lies.

He tested this ability with Bakin, who could read people's emotions. Bakin could do the same over the phone, so Mokami used this method on him, and the lawyer said he couldn't get any read on him, but while he was answering Kirishima, he wasn't thinking. So, he just said 'yeah.'

How could he predict that the detective at that moment would pass by them and hear him murmur to himself? From that, he would pick up a clue and start to harass him. Luckily he called Bakin as soon as he got out because he knew the police were going to arrive. Not only because, he wanted Bakin to represent all the students, but after all the police in this country acted like overlords whenever they could. He wouldn't let them act wantonly with his class.

Lucky for Mokami, Tsukauchi was having a crisis at the moment too. When he first heard there was an attack in Yuuei, he came as fast as he could to support his good friend All-Might. And when he heard from one of the teachers that the group of villains that attacked the students called themselves League of Villains, he started to take it more seriously.

Tsukauchi, without knowing too much, made up his mind and decided to start a campaign to track down this organization. He knew it wouldn't be easy. After all, they were an organization with lots of members from what it seemed. He was going to start by identifying who each one of them was, so he could put together a profile that described what kind of person and criminal each one was. Knowing this would help him predict their next move and ultimately capture them and bring them to justice.

He also planned on gathering information from witnesses of the USJ incident and looking into any possible leads that could help him piece together the puzzle of their identities. To do this effectively, he would have to collaborate with other police officers in different parts of Japan, as well as internationally, since there was a high possibility the villains had affiliations abroad.

He initially just wanted to question the students to see if they knew anything, but as he was counting the students, he heard two of them speak, and when the red-hair said, "It was unexpected," he felt nothing. Of course, he didn't. How could a group of children expect anything?

But just as he was about to walk away, his Quirk warned him when the other kid said, "Yeah."

Although he didn't want to believe it, he still asked everyone how the events went down and learned that it was the same kid who did everything. He saved the students all by himself. Although teachers did the heavy work, he was the one who planned everything and that plan saved everyone. Which begged the question, why did this kid save everyone and prevent the Leauge from killing a few of them if he was part of them? To save the day and win their hearts?

Of course, he too asked himself this question. After all, it didn't make sense otherwise. For a second, he even doubted his own ability, which is why he went hard on the kid, but his every answer was honest. He didn't know the attack would occur, then why his Quirk told him he was lying?

"I have one more question, can you answer please?" He walked to the kid and the lawyer and looked as serious as he could.

"Shoot." Mokami tiredly sighed as he said.

"Did you, even if it was a little, thought something might go wrong today?" The detective asked.

"Yes." Mokami nodded, "The press penetrating the school's security the other day didn't make sense to me, so I thought there could be some other motives behind that incident. Although I didn't know they would attack today, or here, I had these warning bells at the back of my mind since that day."

"Thank you." The detective finally smiled and bowed. 'I shouldn't have suspected such a brilliant kid.'

The detective began to analyze Mokami's words and actions more closely, trying to determine if he was telling the truth or not. He noticed that despite his exhaustion and fear, Mokami made eye contact during most of the conversation, indicating he was sincere. In addition, every answer was direct and concise, with no stammering or obvious signs of lying. The detective also noted that Mokami had no hesitation when answering questions and seemed confident in his answers. His Quirk also supported that Mokami never lied during interrogation.

He realized that even though this kid managed to come up with an ingenious plan in the spur of the moment, his story checked out based on what evidence was available. He also kept in mind that it could be possible for him to design this ruse of an act of heroism in some way, but it still seemed unlikely considering how reckless and dangerous it was.

The detective looked back at Mokami with admiration as he finally concluded that everything written in the reports was true; this kid had managed to save them all despite everything being against him. And as he put it, he was just smart.
