"Mt. Lady is my first choice!" Mineta shouted excitedly.
"I want to be like Best Jeanist someday!" Ashido announced passionately.
Kirishima was more in line with everyone else. "Hawks is so cool! To work alongside him would be manly!" he said excitedly, as others agreed with him. Tokoyami also wanted to work with Hawks after he started to apply Mokami's ideas.
Sero thought otherwise and said joyfully "Endeavor is such an inspiration! I would want to learn from him."
Ojiro was thinking differently, as he was martial art practitioner, "Edgeshot has incredible speed and control of Quirk! That's something I'd like to learn too."
Momo brought up a subject that cooled them down immediately as she saw how they got ahead of themselves, "You have to be invited by pro heroes if you want to have an internship with them. For that, you have to perform well in the festivals."
"Momo-chan is right," Mokami nodded, "You also think about compatibility.
Internship can teach you many things, but if you choose a hero that cannot relate to your quirk, it will be wasted, so I suggest you think about your Quirk and some of the heroes that may reach out to you. It is not always about how high their ranking is. I seriously thinking of joining one of the science labs for the internship to increase my knowledge. I am on the fence still, as labs cannot offer me precious lessons about being a hero such as patrolling, damage controlling, and fan handling, but learning more about science would also help me in long run. So, think hard."
"That's a good point," said Jiro, nodding her head. "We can all think about our quirks and how they can be used to benefit us and the heroes we want to work with. I'm a musician and my Quirk is sound-based so maybe I should look into some sound-based heroes. I wouldn't think of doing an internship with Gang Orca before, but after Mokami's suggestion, I seriously think he might be helpful to me. We should each discuss our strengths and weaknesses and how we can best use our quirks in order to have successful internships."
They all nodded and started to discuss their strengths and weaknesses. They talked about how they could use their quirks better, what kind of techniques suits their quirks, the type of heroes that would be the best mentors for them, and other similar topics.
Momo said confidently "Okay everyone, our goal is to make sure that we can show off our skills at the festival and make an impression on the pro heroes! Let's focus on developing our techniques and making sure that we're ready for any situation. We have limited time so let's make it count!"
The group agreed with a resounding agreement and returned to the class. The rest of the day was boring, and nothing interesting happened. When the school ended, the class was surprised by visitors waiting at the door of their class.
Iida was the one to raise the question. "What business do you have with Class A?"
"We can't get out!" Mineta stepped in to complain. "What'd you come here for, anyway?"
"Scouting out the enemy, small fries." Bakugo walked past the three as he cooly approached the crowd. "They probably wanna check us out before the sports festival," Bakugo said with a grin.
Out of my way, extras!"
"I came to see what the famous Class 1-A was like," A tall boy with wild purple hair stepped through the crowd. "But you seem pretty arrogant. Are all the students in the hero course like this?"
"Nah, just this kitty." Mokami said while smiling at the crowd, "I know you all feel indignant about the treatment we receive despite being in the same year. None of you are less than us, and that is especially for Class 1-B. Those who are in our class are not necessarily stronger and I know the students had been shared equally between two hero classes.
But you have to understand that, we didn't ask to be attacked either. It wasn't a pleasant experience. Those people were real villains and were ready to hurt our friends. At least for me, at that moment, all I could think about was how I could protect my friends, and I am certain I saw the same emotion on each of my friends' faces. So if deep down inside, you wish to have the same opportunity, it means you are ready to cast away the well-being and maybe the life of your mates and friends for your selfish reasons.
Also as you may have seen in the footage, we didn't do anything. We just hid and run away at the first sign of danger. We are just students, and we know when not to fight." He said then looked at Bakugo, "Well at least most of us."
The crowd outside looked at this handsome teen in surprise. They came to see the mighty 1-A, as they had battled with villains, and on their way, they felt more and more resentful the more students joined the group. They too were aspiring future heroes and they too had been accepted into the school. What made this class so special? If they were to be attacked by villains, they could do even better than these cowards. But as they heard this teen's speech, they felt ashamed of their own thoughts. True, if they wished to be attacked to show off, then it meant they were ready to risk the health of their friends for fame.
At those words, class 1-A took a stance behind Mokami and looked at all their guests in defiance. Even Bakugo stood and looked as if to say, "C'mon, say it. Say you want to fight against villains. Say that you are selfish bastards!"
"Seeing someone like this makes me humbled." The purple-haired boy said as he moved to the front of the crowd, rubbing the back of his neck. "There are quite a few people who enrolled in general studies or other courses because they didn't make it into the hero course. I was a bit resentful for that, I admit. And I also admit that I was lost in my own arrogance and thought I could do much better in your shoes, but now I can see that I was blind. But I still want to say my piece, the school has left those of us a chance...
Depending on the results of the sports festival, they'll consider our transfer into the hero course. And it seems they may also transfer people out. I had an unfavorable Quirk that was useless against robots but would very much be deadly against villains, but fickle fortune, I performed poorly in the entrance exam. But I still dream of becoming a hero, so I will do my best at the Festival. Let's do our best." As he said that, he reached out for a handshake and Mokami accepted it with a smile.
The rest cheered as the nervous air melted away. Then all together, they started to file out from the school, while Mokami hid his grin from the spectating eyes.
