Kai returned to his room and closed his eyes before instructing the system to simulate battles using his newly mastered spells. However, the system told it that it did not have sufficient data to conduct this simulation, so Kai would have to first test out his spells to be able to simulate using them in combat, and make them part of his combat prowess.
In order use the spells, he needed Spiritual Energy, and to do this, Kai closed his eyes and consumed the [Deer-liver potion]. Unlike the [Merman-scale Potion], this potion did not cause him to fall asleep, so Kai was fully awake during the entire process.
The considerably thicker potion than the [Merman-scale Potion] slid down his throat and into his stomach. Almost immediately, a cool sensation spread throughout his body and lingered for a few minutes, before vanished simultaneously and entering his Mental Space as Spiritual Energy.
At the same time, Kai felt as though his body had dried up, especially his stomach. It felt as though he was dying from starvation and thirst at the same time.
Picking up a flask beside him, Kai gulped down all its contents and some of the crimson liquid dripped down the side of his lips, down his chin before soaking into his clothes.
Yes, Kai had naturally read about the negative consequence of using this potion and had prepared 20 flasks of considerably fresh animal blood, which had of course been purified through Magic Spells to kill all bacteria and possible harmful ingredients.
Currently, after having consumed the current potion, Kai had 13 [Deer-liver potion]s with him, and after thinking for a bit, he realised that he would only be able to consume 1 potion every 5 days, and during these five days, he would have to consume at least 5 flasks of blood to keep the hunger for blood at bay.
The 13 potions would last him a long time. Too long in fact. Thinking for a moment, he decided to hand over 10 of them to Fred and let him handle their sale slowly, to prevent the market of Rank 1 and Rank 2 Magi from being rapidly saturated.
Not that that was likely to happen anytime soon; Kai still wished for the price to remain high. Therefore, he made sure to not only assure Fred that Madam Aria would take care of their safety but also made sure to tell him to slowly introduce the potions to the market to keep the price up.
"Haha! Kai… what do you think I am? My family comes from a considerably long lineage of merchants. Naturally, I was taught about such things since the day I could understand what the others were speaking. Do not worry, and leave the business to me."
"Alright. But Fred… You also need to focus on growing your actual power. Let me tell you, I have already become a Rank 0 apprentice. I already know that you too are at Rank 0, but at this rate, I will easily catch up and overtake you. Make sure you remember that the goal for coming here is to increase power. Without such power, being a merchant will not mean anything, since someone stronger can just come along and kill you."
"…Alright." Fred nodded sincerely but did not pay too much mind to this part of the conversation. He was more focused on the 10 [Deer-liver Potion]s, after all, this was an incredibly expensive asset that had fallen right into his laps.
With all immediate tasks complete, and the system simulating his advancement to Rank 1, Kai decided to head off to practice with his new spells. He needed enough data from the spells for the system to fully analyse them; their strengths and weaknesses.
Then, he would move on to understanding how best it would suit him in combat, and improve his current combat style of just using the sword, some daggers, and the Five Elephant Palm technique.
Kai went to the Battle Hall, and this time around, he found a location inside called the Testing Chambers. All he had to do was to take an appointment for a testing chamber and wait for a few weeks until his allotted time came to use it.
Alternatively… he could just purchase one such time with the disciples waiting outside the testing room for precisely someone like Kai. Of course, he would not purchase something like this from just anyone and instead walked closer and closer towards the building.
It should be known, that the entire region of the Bluestone Sect was divided into two regions; the unofficially named Inner and Outer Sects. Within the Outer sect, it was divided into two regions, the living quarters, and the rest of the facilities; the latter being where all the various Halls were situated.
Each hall was not a single building. Some, like the Battle Hall were a congregation of multiple buildings spread across a large region, while others like the Alchemy Hall and Spell Hall were single building Halls.
As soon as he neared the entrance, two disciples approached him with large strides.
