Instead, he looked at his uncle and asked.
"Pops! Can I learn the Five Elephant Palm now?"
'This…' The Baron was stumped. Initially, he wanted Kai to be able to grow stronger physically before naturally allowing his body to accumulate mana. He had told him to wait 2 years, however, it would take at least 5 years before Kai had sufficient Mana to be able to carry out the Five Elephant Palm.
Yet now, here he was, standing in front of him with enough mana to perform that very External Art.
'Sigh, well… I did want to teach him the technique right?' Morgan thought to himself as he passed his fingers through his majestic brown beard.
"Alright. Rest for today. Tomorrow I will take you to the training room to teach the technique to you"
"Alright!" Kai nodded as he leapt out of bed and ran out of the room, closing the door behind him.
*Bang*
Not a moment later did Kai return to the room, slamming the door open just like the Baron always does, and asked.
"Has Bob left?"
"Yes," Morgan replied.
"Oh… What about the silver fragment he brought for me?"
"I sent it back with him after making sure there was nothing wrong with it, and it was just a piece of silver which contained a bit of mana. I'll send word to Gus for him to bring that silver piece next time they arrive"
"Yeah. Also, Pops, since that silver was able to give me mana, you should reward Bob properly. After all, he was the one who enabled me to have enough Mana to perform the Five Elephant Palm art. Hehe~" Kai laughed as he left the room once more, heading to the Training room for today's training session.
…
In a sealed room without any servants or other personnel, two people were facing each other at a study table. One of them was a bearded old man and the other was a youthful lady in white clothes.
"Are you sure this will work?" The lady questioned the old man.
"Master Mage. This is a question about my daughter's future. How can I let her have connections with an orphan like Kai Dread? However, since Morgan does not wish to let the brat leave his castle, we can only try this method."
"Alright. However, this little war of yours must not spread to the surrounding territories, or the Magic Tower responsible for this area will send people to investigate, and even I cannot do anything about that." The beautiful yet cold mage replied before standing up and walking out of the room.
She possessed the power to infiltrate any Barony and kill anyone she wanted as long as another mage did not interfere, and she had tried just to kill the child named Kai. However, as soon as she came close to the castle, she felt a presence inside which made her feel uncomfortable.
'A Mage's intuition is always their strongest asset', was what her master had taught her, and so she decided to stay as far away from the Dread castle as possible. Just before closing the door behind her, the mage turned to the Tulia Baron and said,
"I will wait for another month. After that, I will leave with Lucy, whether you have disposed of the child or not. She will only be allowed to return after becoming a Rank 2 Mage. That will take a long time, so you should spend some time with her."
*Click*
The door closed and the Tulia Baron was left alone in the silence of the room. Suddenly, he began to wonder how it all came to this…
Almost a year ago, a beautiful and powerful Mage appeared at his doorstep and took a liking to Lucy. However, after she learned she had a fiancé, the Mage was greatly angered and instructed him to kill the child.
Although he was reluctant, for the future of his child, the Baron decided to break his trust in his friend, and assassinate Kai.
Who would have expected that it would fail, not only that, but Kai would remain in his castle for a whole year after the incident, with no intention of leaving.
Now, the only option he had was to find a way to destroy the Dread Barony and kill Kai, without revealing that he was the mastermind behind the entire war.
'Well, I hope this plan is successful. For my daughter's sake, and for yours Morgan. If everything works out, you will be able to get out of it alive with some of your most trusted aides, giving you a chance to rebuild elsewhere. This is the most I can do for you without sacrificing my daughter's life as a mage,' the Tulia Baron shook his head as he returned to the task of writing letters using the feather and ink.
