As soon as Kai began this process, the blood vessels on his left palm began to bulge and the hand began to heat up. But it was not enough to cause harm to his arm. The moment the Mana touched the runes, they were instantly absorbed into the runes at an astonishing speed.
Shocked by this development, Kai flinched, and the supply of Mana was paused, causing the runes to stop and the entire activation process was halted.
'No…' Kai sighed in his mind as he took another bite out of the nearly empty bun on the plate, before repeating the process once more.
This time, he continued to supply, as more and more mana vanished from his body into the runes, and after 30 seconds of absorption, the runes finally began to glow and stopped sucking in mana.
Excitedly, Kai pulled back his palm and threw it forward. The roar of an elephant sounded as the hand burst through the air and landed on the wooden shelf.

The shelf had a palm-sized chunk of it missing as splinters of wood flew in all directions, even into Kai's face and body, cutting him in several places. The plates meant for the Baron, Kai and any guests; fell to the ground simultaneously.
Thankfully, the activation of the Five Elephant Palm External Art made his palm a lot stronger than a normal human, and so it was completely undamaged.
"Haha! Ha- Oh no. I have to get out of here!" Kai belatedly realised the commotion he had created and how people would be soon rushing here to see the situation and would find him having destroyed a whole shelf filled with cutlery!
He had to leave here quickly to not be blamed for this!
Immediately, Kai stuffed the last bit of bread in his mouth, put another two pieces of bread in either of his pockets and unsteadily walked out of the kitchen. His condition had improved considerably over the past hours, and he could not walk, and if need be, even jump.
Such a recovery was most definitely impossible on Earth without considerably expensive treatment, but here, just by drinking and eating Kai had recovered to this extent this quickly.
He quickly reached his room and lay on the bed. Now that he was safe, he finally recalled everything that had happened. The feeling of excitement from achieving the Five Elephant Palm External Art gradually reduced and a certain feeling of anxiety began to rise in Kai's mind as he slowly noticed all the odd aspects.
No one had come with food for him at the training hall, not even Pops.
