[Host has received an impact to the right temple, causing a concussion. However, no bones were broken and there was only a small cut to the flesh, which had been properly disinfected and bandaged. Estimated time until full recovery: 2 weeks]
'Nice!' Kai exclaimed in his mind as a smile appeared on his face. He nodded at the buttle who put the mirror away and excused himself, leaving the Baron to talk with Kai alone.
"What is it Pops?"
"…"
"Pops?"
"Kai… you know I have only done everything for your better future right?"
"Of course."
"Then you must have to listen to me once more. Do not go to meet Lucy anymore. From this moment forwards, assume she is someone you do not know."
"Huh? But why? I was just on the way to meet her just a few days ago… We were going to go bird-watching in the wilds" Kai exclaimed. These were the emotions of the Original Kai leaking into the Earth Kai as they spoke from the same body.
"You will learn the reason later. For now, just trust me. This is a very sensitive matter and for now, you need to focus on recovering." The Baron was gritting his teeth by this point as a vein bulged on his forehead.
"…Alright Pops. If you say so. But I have something else to answer"
"What is it?" Baron Dread sighed out in relief as though a large weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
"How is Rachel so strong? She was able to lift the bucket filled with water without even so much as a single drop of sweat appearing on her face."
The Baron frowned for a moment, and only for a moment as immediately afterwards his expression brightened to the point one would think he was a starving man looking at a buffet of delicacies.
"Oh yes! I'll teach you all about it. But first, you need to recover enough to be able to exercise normally without any issues. And you will not be the judge of that. Luke will tell me when it is alright. Rachel will bring you food when you are hungry. Alright. I'm off."
With that, the Baron and his two heavy-armoured cavalry knights left Kai's room, allowing Doctor Luke and nurse Rachel to enter.
Kai spent a few hours sleeping, then some more time in a state similar to sleep where he closed his eyes and relived the lives of the Earth Kai and the Original Kai.
The current him was neither of the two, but a new Kai whose memories were a combined mess of the two Kais' memories. After all, a person was defined by their experiences and memories, and it was sufficient to say a person was someone else if they lost their memories.
A few days past just like that, and after fully coming to terms with his fused memories, Kai opened his crimson eyes. There was a strange emotion welling up inside of him every time he recalled memories about his father, mother, and Pops; his uncle. Although he had not seen either of his parents, Pops had continuously explained every little detail about them to him over the few years he had spent being able to understand the language here.
Although it was a different language from the Earth Alliance's English, Kai understood it perfectly. At the very least, in being able to speak, he was rather fluent. In terms of writing, well Pops had never taken the initiative to teach him.
"Young Master, your food." Rachel opened the door slowly while bringing in a tray of his dinner.
Kai struggled a bit and successfully stood up while avoiding causing too much strain on his head and preventing him from getting a headache, which had already happened quite a few times due to moving too fast.
By now, Kai could sit up on his bet and eat his own food, which was why Rachel was bringing him some medium-rare steak. The Kai from Earth did not know how to use utensils, despite having seen it in a few movies, because the only food he ever had was the nutrient supplements which you could consume and a single pill would be enough to substitute a whole meal.
Although the meat was perfectly cooked, it appeared that the people here had not discovered, or at least did not have access to seasonings, so Kai had to just consume the meat while imagining what it could have been like with spices and herbs.
A few more days passed and Kai could finally walk and move around on his own without his head feeling like it was about to burst open. It had been a long, painful, but relaxing week here at the Dread Estate, and compared to Earth Kai's life, this was practically heaven even taking the constant pain into account.
Over the next week, the wound on Kai's head also healed. However, it did leave a scar going from the top of his ear to the hairline on his forehead. Thankfully, although the hair had been shaved off in that region to allow for the stitching, it would grow back with time and cover up the scar.
"Kai! How is it now? Are the headaches finally gone?" Baron Dread laughed joyously as he greeted Kai who had just walked into the garden for some fresh air. The garden here was a simple one, with found squares of flower beds, and a crossroads formed from stone paths leading to four doors which led to different parts of the castle.
The blue sky above was something the Kai from Earth could never have hoped to see in person, yet here it was, and Kai was basking in its glory as the subtle afternoon sun rays. Filtered through the clouds and hit his body.
"Yeah Pops. I'm basically back to normal now. Even Doctor Luke said that everything is ok with me and the wound had healed completely." Plus, the system had also told him that he was now completely fine.
"Good! Good! Well then. Why waste a moment more? Come to the training hall. I will explain something to you."
Kai's face was full of question marks, but he still followed behind the Baron. Soon enough, the two of them entered a room with thick rocks lining the walls and ground. The room seemed closer to a dungeon than a training room.
The Baron motioned for Kai to follow behind him and sit down on the ground. The entire room was empty, so there were no chairs or tables to use there. Morgan also followed suit and sat on the ground facing Kai.
"Kai. Today I will be teaching you the Five Elephant Palm. It is the technique which has been passed down in our family ever since the ancestor established the Barony."
