Clarisse stepped out of the car and noticed Lowell waiting with his usual deadpan expression. He didn’t ask or say anything, to which somehow offered her some relief. She didn’t want to talk about it anyways, so it was best left alone.
She decided to take a walk towards the nearby fountain as she needed some time to think things through. She heard the car’s wheels hit the cobblestone grounds, leaving a bit of smoke and dirt behind as it went off to be parked at the garage. Clarisse stared at the mobile screen and then heaved a long sigh.
‘I don’t think anyone’s here,’ Clarisse thought as she turned her head from side to side.
The coast was clear, and Jerry wasn’t hounding over her yet. Lowell was still away with the car, and Declan went inside to tend to his Fated Mate. Clarisse held the phone closer and dimmed its screen lighting.
