“Allow me to create and lead my own pack.”
Luke and Konrard stopped in their tracks at the Crystal Forest Pack’s Luna condition. This was the very first time a she-wolf, a Luna at that, had dared to suggest such a thing. Never in the history of the werewolf kingdom that a Luna was also the Alpha of the pack.
Sure, there had been rare cases of a Luna that had to proxy for a dead mate, but they were just formalities. The pack’s elders and the rest of the council would always push for a new Alpha to rise, and usually it would be in order of blood relation, with the offspring being the best candidate.
Clarisse would have said something in addition, but from the corner of her eyes, she saw several male cubs had made their way to the fountain. They were quite boisterous and chatted animatedly about girls and the upcoming mating season. Clarisse could only roll her eyes – boys!
“Wait a minute,” she said to Konrard, “I’ve got a situation here. Will find someplace safer.”
